Origin won't take Sims 2 bar codes?

Hi! I wanted to start playing sims 2 again, but couldn't find the base game. I bought "double deluxe" (knowing it's nightlife and the base game). I had most of the expansion packs- besides pets, free time, and a few other ones.
I went in my room and dug up every single expansion pack I could find- only most of them were missing the disc's. So, I went onto origin, and typed the codes in in the redeem area.
It didn't work! I understand that Origin no longer sells TS2, but wouldn't the codes still work?
