I have a question about the repeating families in the family bin in TS2, and one other question

When ever I start a new town there is always in the family bin families such as
The Ottomas Family
The Ramaswami Family
The Newson Family
And countless other families as well. I know that there are a certain number of sim files allowed (not sure of the number), and after that things I don't want to happen, such as corruption and other issues will happen. Now I don't mind having those families in the game, but I don't want to see them in every town, not even sitting in the bin, because every so often those sim will show up, by coming home with a family member as a school mate or coworker.
Is there a way I can limit these guys to just one town, or am I stuck with them in all my main hoods? To bad it would cause game corruption if I deleted them. I wished there was a way that I could just combine all my towns into one game file. I use to play with this one http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=301194 but they warned of game corruption so I stopped playing it. Then they linked to another location that I could combine my own here http://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html but this leaves me so confused on which one I want. If you happen to know anything about this last one, is there any way you can help me understand which one I would need. The game that I'm playing is The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection that they gave to us a while back.

It can be so daunting. The families are added with each expansion. They will be in every new neighborhood unless you clean them out. I used to use the clean files and have added them many times.... but with every new computer or when I want them back it becomes a pain. I know what you mean though.
So, what do you want to do- Make Clean game files or just make one neighborhood clean and save it?
The clean game files will mean you will have to make back ups (not as important with Origin fix option) and then replacing files which will also remove most townies and downtownies -iicr,
or clean up one neighborhood which will require SimPE and a few other downloads-

**Another option is to put them on a lot and kill them with the testing cheat. The kids will be taken by the Social worker so you don't have to kill them. :sad:
Then you can send them to a Community cemetery
***Another is to make them into townies- it's easy if you have the mods.
