Sims lost all skills after patch

I just did the update, and came back to my game to find my sims had lost all of their skills. Not just reset back to level 1, but all completely gone. I'm also experiencing the flickering sims. I'll update here with anything else.

Hello.
Edit to help others with the same issue : Removing any cc/mods in the game may help the issue.

With the flickering sims, try changing the lights that are in the rooms where your sims are and see if that may help the issue. Also, have them travel to another lot and back.
Some simmers have also found that going back to 32 bit has helped.

My sims have lost their skills too, sort of. They have all the same abilities, but the skills section says they have no skills. So a sim who has a high piano skill can still play the piano well, but no piano skill is listed.

I had a sim study a skill she didn't have before the new patch. The skill indicator thing didn't appear above her head like it usually does. When she started to study that skill, it appeared in the skills tab. The number for what level skill she had was 0, but the indicator bar in the skill tab was gold with a check mark that says "100% complete" when you hover over it. When a notice popped up that she had reached level 2 in that skill, the number in the skill tab remained at 0. When I tried to have her use the skills she had learned (bar tending), she acted as if she was at level 0. Later when I came back to the skill tab, the skill that had appeared there was gone, and it was back to saying that she had no skills.

I have the 4x Faster Skills mod by Shimrod101. I really don't want to get rid of that because it would make the game too tedious. I'm curious to know how many other people have the same problem, and if they also have that mod installed.

@trekkiebeth - that Faster Skills mod was reported in my dead-mods thread as broken. It might be interfering with the UI display of skills.

Yeah, I just removed the mod and it fixed the problem. Do you know of another faster skills mod that isn't broken?

It's not one I use, but if anyone suggests alternatives, I'll try to remember to post here.

The changing the lights fixed the issue, thanks! Also I didn't realize I still had the faster skills mod but I did and I took it out and that's resolved too. I have a new issue though, my sims don't want to seem to do anything? Like they're stuck on their current action and I can't cancel it so they're just kind of standing around. Debugging the sim doesn't work either.

Not sure if it's related, but one of my sims is being abducted and it seems like everything was moving until he was taken up in the spaceship? I went out to manage worlds/exited out and reopened the game, and when I came back the action just reset, so he was taken back up into the spaceship but since the actions won't complete he doesn't come back down. Time is passing in the game, just nothing is happening. Any ideas?

Just took out my mods and they're moving again. I'll report back if I find out which mod it is!

I am glad the sims are moving again. It will be good to hear what mod was the cause.

Hey guys., I had the 4X faster skill mod too.. And also after the massive update my sims would stand there doing nothing also all there skill disappeard.. But they still had them if that makes sense.. I've since removed the mod and everything is working again.. Though all my sims have reset back to level 1 on everything..

I am glad that yiur game is working okay again now

i removed the mod before updating and all of my skills dropped to 1 also.

Hello.
Did you put the mod back into the game after updating? If you did, the mod has then conflicted with the game.

no since it was on the broken list I left it out seems others are having problem with it as well per the comments on the mod at mts.

if you can recall the level the skills were at just use the cheat to reset http://sims-online.com/sims-4-game-info/sims-4-game-cheats-codes/
