Do you think it's time for another destination world?

Hi All,

It's been quite a while since there was a destination world added to the Sims 4.

Do you think it's time for a new addition?

I'd love to see a coastal inspired town, country inspired town and a small 'village' inspired town.

My sims don't always want to go camping in Granite Falls! How about yours? :)

coastal villages could be really fun and very diverse. you could have a haunted new england-type village like martha's vineyard bed and breakfast whale watching and antique hunting village... a provincetown tourist village... or cape cod fishing village.

or a caribbean coastal village like the virgin islands or mexico or cuba.

or an asian-style or polynesian-style coastal village.

    or cold, cold-save-the-polar-bears coastal village.

I dont think they are adding one because there will be one with GT.
However, I think it is time the whole world structure is given a makeover in this game.
all the current worlds should be named as towns and they should connect together under one big map that is called a world.

Like a world having different towns. Sims can travel normally between towns but only active sims can travel between worlds. Townies of world one should never be seen in world two.

The current structure of colorless map should be ditched, the circular world icons should be ditched. A real colorful map should be used where all the current worlds are connected to each other as towns. When I say connected means something like this where each color represents one of the current worlds.

Everything I post is an opinion here and I think every post of others is as well.

I like that idea, @halimali1980. And I would really love it if residents stayed in the place where they lived when you're not playing them. (Like they did in subhoods of TS2.) I'd like to, for example, imagine Oasis Springs as Arizona and Windenburg as Germany, but it's hard to imagine any real distance between these very different places when the same sims walk by all of them.

I think this would really enhance the illusion that our current 'worlds' are actually worlds and not just 'neighborhoods'. I certainly don't miss the set up in TS3 where you basically started a new game every time your sims wanted to live in a different world but non-active sims staying in their own world would be a really good step forward.

And yes, I am more than ready for a new destination world. Anything new would be great at this point.
I'm a girl who likes to play with boys, what can I say... o:)

    It would be better.
But the problem is: the world are too small. If it happened, the population would not be much for each world.

I was thinking the same last night as I was building in Newcrest and looking at the backdrops. This game feels so chopped up and not very immersive. I have other sims living beyond the borders of this world, but have no idea as to where. I should see my other neighborhoods as backdrops and recognize the shell buildings and 2D backdrops. EA should plan out the world in advanced and develop as needed, so everything feels like it is designed and holistic instead ad hoc.

Yes. I am definitely looking forward to another vacation destination. I want my island getaway, my cruise holiday, a casino/resort town.
Even a disney type place for the whole family to enjoy with rides and games with prizes.

Personally and I know this may sound a bit wierd but I would personally like the destination type places to just be neighbourhoods like Granite Falls and not full worlds? Like of course if it was in an expansion like the sims 4 version of world adventures I would like full worlds but as for themed type destinations I would like just 2 small neighbourhoods like Granite Falls again because it makes more sense I guess like you wouldn't have a full town dedicated to camping in the real world. Also and this is even more controversial I guess but I liked that we didn't get a full world with Get to Work either because a full blown town dedicated to shopping feels a bit odd to imo. If they had a full world with 2 neighborhoods of that dedicated to being the shopping districts I would have liked that but I enjoy the little magnolia promenade we have as a small area, I would also like that to be labelled under destinations worlds too but that is just me.

I'm curious about what you all think about my weird way of thinking the world system should work?

Wow this post ended up way longer than I intended it to be and apologies for typos because this was written sporadically and with not a whole lot of attention being paid to it.

I agree completely with you. Vacation destinations shouldn't be as big as the general worlds. I like the way Gf is. I had suggested that we be allowed day passes and that those day passes would default our sims to the main lot of the vacation destination and bypass the rental areas. (for a smaller day pass fee of course!)

So this way, you can just go spend the day in the National Forest of GF, or to the beach lot when we get a beach vacation world, etc

@SimGuruLyndsay thought it was a good idea. :) So hopefully we see something like that once they start adding more vacation destinations.

And the beauty of them is that they are perfect for game packs, and you have the option of choosing which places you want in your game.

One feature I'd like to see before they add any new worlds is the ability to play the worlds separately. Sometimes I want to have a small willow creek town and that's it. Of course I'd rather a CAW tool so I can go wild and we wouldn't have to depend on the devs for worlds so constantly. But sure a new world would be nice, and if I had to choose a theme I'd like something like this:

EDIT: Just realized you meant a vacation world but ehh how about a spooky almost abandoned village with lots to explore. A haunted inn and towns people with lots of secrets. I feel like playing silent hill now!

I'd like a destination world type that we've never had before - a cruise ship, or a ski resort (with snow, of course).

I'd love to go on vacation to a Sixam resort... purple sandy alien beaches with crazy alien juices. It'll never happen, but I can dream. ;)

I's rather have more actual worlds than vacation worlds. I don't like worlds i can't live in, but i might be in the minority there. Either way, I stand by how i feel.

Maybe send them to space in those rockets that they can build?

A fully built, multi-lot Sixam where you could rent a vacation spot would be different from that. It is a very beautiful place and worth building a rocket for! But it would be neat to see more done with it, or someplace similar.

A snowy mountain or beachy island theme for a vacation like OR's woodland theme would suit me. As for one map, not really needed so I'd rather they put time and effort into important things.

only if there's a gifting option so people like me have an equal chance in getting the GPS/SPs without having to resort to a 3rd party to pay for it.

I think it would be cool to have a world based off each continent, an Asian themed, European themed, African themed. There would be a lot to pack in, so it'd have to be pretty general but direct enough to know which continent it's referencing from. With activities, games, clothing, social interactions that are used there in that general area's culture. New kinds of furniture, animals, plants/flowers, and collectibles only found in those areas.
The Sims has currently lost its identity. Bring it back for TS5

I agree, it's time for another destination world! Granite Falls is getting pretty boring! I'm surprised at all the possibilities of this game they haven't done more... I like the idea of a coastal town.

@jennaddctd2sims I think a summer themed world would be perfect for this time of he year
