Currently we have Walls Up/Cutaway/Down.
I would like a version of Cutaway that only drops the walls between the camera and the active Sim, leaving all walls behind them, including internal ones, up.
I find that I would decorate my Sims' homes with shelving, pictures, and decorations much more often which would help make them feel more unique, if I could actually see the items while playing without having to raise the walls all the time as the walls do get in the way.
I dislike that if I have a kitchen that uses cabinets on an internal wall, I cannot see them unless I raise the walls. This includes ones that are supposed to look as though they sit on the floor or that have been used in EA created homes to look like book or TV cabinets.
The only time I ever raise the walls during regular gameplay is to take pictures.
How techincally possible is this? Sorry to tag you again

I hope my Sims and lots aren't too terrible!
I like your idea a lot since I like to see my wall decorations and clutter on the walls but I don't see myself using the mode that much unless I play my game like in The Sims 1 angle, sorry. I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but just trying to be practical.
Nevertheless, it wouldn't hurt if they put this mode in, I guess.
@DeKay I currently play with walls in Cutaway mode and I rarely keep my camera positioned in the same place all the time. There are some things I can't see because of foundations or half walls.
It could perhaps be implimented so that if you mouse over a wall, it would drop down to allow access to the objects behind it? That may be a solution.
I wanted this type of wall in TS3 as well but as the game wasn't being updated in this way I never thought to say anything. I like to think that as EA have said TS4 is a "live" game that can be altered and updated as players suggest things, there is at least a chance, no matter how small, that this may get looked at.

I usually play walls up or else I lose immersion and half my pics would be ruined because I'd forget a little area, in the corner at least, has the wrong view.
Since day 1 of play I didn't understand the wall-views design choice and wanted what was described in the OP. It just makes more sense ... to me anyway.
The issue described, that could be caused by a new wall-mode, is not new for me, that's typical play time. I have ways around it, although I do get a finger cramp.

Oh, yes, that would be better if the wall is cutaway when you hover over it, yes. I would like that.
I'm just trying to think of ways to make this as simple to implement as possible.
