Theme: "Firsts" The perfect theme for our first month's challenge. This month is all about firsts for us. Stories must include some sort of first for the Sims in the story.
No need to pay too much attention to that last post. I'm just linking to that from the front page, so that we can keep an archive of previous months without having to overcrowd that post on the front page. (fingers crossed that this works how I want it to)

It worked exactly how you wanted it to. I wonder how'd you did it

Just click on the link below to choose your picks for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places! You can only vote once, so make it count. (A vote for 1st will give that story 3 points. A vote for 2nd is worth 2 points. And a vote for 3rd gives 1 point. At the end of the week of voting I'll tally all the points and announce the winners!)
Aaaaaaand now it's time to announce the next theme.
September's Theme:It all started when I opened...
Opening phrase: Instead of an actual theme, this month everyone must begin their story with the same phrase.
*Feel free to change the "I" to another pronoun if you don't plan to write your story in 1st person.
*Also just as a quick reminder the maximum number of screenshots has been increased to 12.
*The word limit is the same: 500-1500 words.
*Stories must contain 1-12 screenshots
I already can't wait to see what you all come up with. Let me know if you have any questions
Also I have a question. You know how every month is supposed to be different and stuff like we aren't just doing themes like we may have a "writing stimulus" too like the story might have to start with this phrase etc. and the structure of it all may be different as well (I remember all of us having a conversation about prompts *cringe* and some times decreasing the amount of screenshots and words and sometimes increasing it) since we talked about it being this way (idk if it's concrete since we were all suggesting) should the structure of the monthly challenge be included in the introduction of every particular theme or the writing stimulus we may have? Just wondering. Or only should do this for the "special months" and include the structure and different writing stimulus into the description.
I hope you understand my question. Lol.
This could be too complex and maybe stupid to ask. But I just thought if people started reading our previous submissions and you have a concrete set of rules but if they go to a whole different month it's changed and they are confused and wondering why it's do different. Idk this is how my brain works.
Good question @putacece4lyfe I completely understand what you meant. Basically I planned to have the rules outlined on the first page be the default rules, so unless special rules are announced for any given month, then you can assume the normal rules are in effect. But I think I will edit the announcement post with a few reminders, since this is just the 2nd month.

Voted! I would like to have voted for another two or three more stories, but it was so difficult to have to pick and choose among the finalists in my head! Gah. I wish everyone who has participated all the best!
Also... Ahh! I'm sitting here trying to think of ideas for September already I have an idea on how to finish the first line, but no clue where to go from there.
As everyone else has been saying, voting was definitely pretty hard, but I was able to figure out who to vote for. Now to start on the September theme- when I first saw it the thing that I thought of was a short story that I had to do for school one time. Guess I'm going to have to find another idea.
It really was hard to pick just three to vote for, so everyone be assured that even if you don't win there was someone wanting very much to vote for your story. At least we can thank @Munterbacon for suggesting we vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, otherwise we all would have had to pick just one story to vote for.
