Instead of coming out with get together, they could have been making generations or some other expansion in its place. I doubt they will scrap it now since they already annouced it.
To be honest, I liked the trailer... I'm excited for the clubs, the partying, the new Woohoo spots... Sure, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but for me, I think it looks nice, and I'm excited for it to come out. I am sort of offended by this whole post, because of the rudeness, the constant attacking of others opinions, and the all around inability to completely comprehend what everyone is trying to get at, but I suppose that is what most forum posts are for ts4... I just don't know how people can say this ep is buggy (I think I read that at some point?) When it hasn't even cone out yet to be judged on whether it's buggy or not. Idk, I'm looking forward to the ep, I've liked most of what we've gotten so far, and I like the looks of the survey that was sent out. So, yeah it may be a filler, sure some people may or may not like it, but everything has fillers at some point, either good or bad, but whatever. I'm content, so that's all that matters to me.
Ah, well, the game WAS just released a week or two ago, plus we have a few more months together. We have.. I suppose, one (poorly made) trailer, and a bit of information of only one major part of the EP so far (again, 3 months to go), which is the clubs. Plus, a few tidbits like the closets and the party content, which, might I add, is probably them struggling to fit in stuff that was not in the base game that wouldn't fit anywhere else. From what I've seen, Get to work was pretty expansive as far as an Ambitions type EP could go, and they have about 1 month more of touching up to do this time than with GTW, if I'm correct. I don't think I am but they certainly have a bit more time than before. (GTW was announced around Feb 4th and released March 31st and GT was announced August 5th, which was a week ago, and to be released sometime in November.) EA seems to have a BIT of an idea of what they're doing in terms of EPs, disregarding the advertisement tactics.
EA is a big gaming company, and they have their tactics. They're not going to give out too much information 3 months before the EP is released. (I guess you could call it a hype method, to sum it up. People get a bit of insight of SOME of the major content, decide whether they like it or not, and get excited, thus giving money to the company.) And, to be honest with you, I think with the trailer they tried to be vague as possible to get people hyped for the content in the EP, but... they chose the wrong topic to be vague about. Which is a severe mistake on their part, as evident on the multiple threads on boycotting this EP. (that was one of the worst mistakes they've made tbh)
You definitely got it right with the whole "Voice Your Opinion!" and you all certainly have the right to do so, whether you despise this EP so far or love it. But, I have to add, requesting/saying the EP to be boycotted/scrapped even though other people like the EP is a very brash statement. Again, many people can complain all they want. Heck, its better to get EA to listen to everyone and try and get the things most people one included, so you're on the right path. However, it's both ridiculous (they're probably to far in to waste all the animations and content) and even kind of inconsiderate (to other people) to want the whole EP scrapped. (Sorry for my rambling, I have a tendency to do that + I tried to sum all of said into the last paragraph to make my post less confusing and jumbled up.)

i won't be participating in the forums & the gallery anymore - thanks EA
Really disappointed! Our babies never leave the bed, barely anywhere to go. No resorts, casinos, amusement parks, arcades..NOTHING! Who's grandma voted for knitting? Yet we get Star Wars. DO BETTER!
Before this gets put in the "too old thread". In September 2020 I find that Get to Work is highly underestimated, contains far more than early reviewers covered and is the most useful pack of all to add to the game.
That probably covers every pack made so far too. Too many players playing on Fast and missing things.
Get to work is honestly one of the packs that have the most content in the Sims 4 but is nowhere near the amount of content and depth Ambitions had.
In hindsight I only use Get Together for Windenburg. The club system is cool till you realize there is no depth, the Cafes are still buggy in my game with the staff constantly not tending the place correctly for anyone to order and when they do, so many Sims order at once that it gets really messy. Then the Sims that ordered stuff do not even consume it and it stays there till you end up with food and coffee scattered all over the place.
Dancing in the club is a pain in the 🐸🐸🐸🐸, especially dance battles that never work.
For some reason all my sims have a maxed out dancing skill because it only has 5 levels and the automatically dance the whole day unless you stop them.
And the parties at the manor thing and the bluffs or whatever don't work with Seasons. If it rains then no DJ and you're screwed.
So yeah in hindsight the thread wasn't soooo wrong.
seeing this 2020 i disagree its one of the best packs
That says a lot about the rest of them
But yeah it seems hate for Get Together really died down since a lot of people got bored and left the forums and only the people who liked it sticked around.
The more packs you have the more you can link with GTW. That's what I'm finding. With Batuu, I've got invited to join the Renegades club which is quite apposite to the pack. In fact that is true of all packs linking up more. Spas in Sulani work well etc........

That's pretty much the way I play -- I don't look as packs as individual games, but rather a part of the whole Sims synergy. Taking the Star Wars pack as an example, yeah if you look at it individually it's pretty cringey. But when you think about the possibility of sending your geek Sims as a graduation trip before they settle down at their job, and maybe they pick up a droid or two, then it can make perfect sense. Or maybe you can use some pack content to upgrade your venues; I replaced the stereos in the nightclubs with DJ booths because it made more sense.
A lot of the early hate for GT came from the disastrous Gamescom presentation, which gave a totally different picture of the pack compared to what it turned out to be. I think it shows that you can't really judge a game based on a 2 minute trailer and a few blurbs on a website.

When you put it next to packs like Island Living, Eco Living, etc... well, yeah, lol.
