    The game won't load?

    Hi, so TS4 has always worked on my computer, and now it's not... it will load up but then when it gets to "The Sims 4" screen it completely freezes, and doesn't move past and then goes unresponsive and my computer completely has to be restarted, i don't know how to fix it, googled any fixes and even in windowed mode it does it, any help/issues you could help with? Would be greatly appreciated.

      That's often an indication that there's no-longer-compatible Custom Content in the Mods folder. If you have anything in that folder, try pulling it out and then starting the game.

      Tried it, didn't work.... Still does the same thing, Games completely up to date, I have enough RAM... Anything else it could be?

      Hi @Carxd, I'm sorry if this doesn't help, but I have been reading up on some similar cases, and it usually reverts back to normal as soon as you repair your game. :smile: If you don't know how to do that, you must go to Origin (make sure you are connected to internet and online in Origin), then right-click the Sims 4. After that the option "Repair Game" should show up and simply click on that. Hopefully that gets it up and working again, but if it doesn't I'd recommend what @luthienrising was suggesting and skimming through the long list of info in your DxDiag... :\

      Another option is you can reset your game back to factory settings (the link is also in my signature). After doing so (and if it works), you might be able to (with some trial and error) pin-point the problem, usually a corrupt save, settings, cc etc. :smile:.

      Your card is integrated and that is the most likely cause.

      Since laptops are not upgradeable in terms of a new processor and graphics card, the only option is to buy a new laptop altogether.

      Gaming laptops (Yes, you need a gaming laptop for the Sims) cost around $1,000 ($900 if you are lucky).

      Gaming desktops cost around $800 ($700 if you are lucky).

      Tried and literally the same thing happened as when I ran the game, I had to restart computer because Origin Client went unresponsive and I couldn't do anything.

      Thing is my laptop can run games like CS:GO in highest detail, League of Legends in highest detail, and other games perfectly fine, but all of the sudden the Sims 4 no longer works, Even when I could play it I was able to play on highest with no FPS lag what so ever. It's just today it's not having it....

      I'd start by updating that graphics driver (it's from 2011), but I think it will be of limited help. You've hit a common thing where after the basegame expands with updates, those minimum specs matter more. Your graphics driver is good as integrated cards go, but your CPU is below minimum specifications for the game, especially for running with an integrated card, which requires a little more CPU power at the minimum.

      Since I was paged I do agree with Luthienrising. You need to update your laptop. Your integrated video card along with a weak cpu will eventually give you issues the more you add to the game. Do you have another computer you can play on? If not I would suggest thinking about purchasing a computer that meets the recommended requirements if you wish to continue playing and surviving this game as more gets added.
