Is there any way at all to recover my Sims saves? :(

I did either a system refresh or a system reset (on Windows 8.1) back in January, and I backed up my files before.. I could have sworn I put my saves on my desktop, but in the original Electronic Arts folder and the saves backup, all I see is a scratch folder. I was so mad and still am.. What had happened to all of my saves? I didn't remember deleting them.. Is there any way I can recover them maybe from my backup I made? It's very hard to recreate the sims that I had and the memories I made.. It makes me not want to play the game much anymore because it's so much work lost and so much time to do it all over again.

Hello.
Is there any .save files in your back up saves folder or is there only the scratch folder that you can see? If there are save files there, you can replace the new save folder in the Sims 4 folder with the old back up saves folder.

@rosemow In the original post I said that my save files were there and suddenly weren't anymore, and I don't know what happened to them. Is there any software that could recover them from my backup? I don't remember deleting them..

I am sorry that your save files have gone. . When I wrote the above post, I was just checking with you that there were no save files in either save folders. It is not good that you have lost all the work that you have done.

Did you upload any of your sims to the Community Gallery? You could redownload the sims from there. Also, do you still have your tray folder? The tray folder contains the sims and builds that you have in your library.
It will not help you to recover your save games, but you will be able to have your sims and builds.

@rosemow Sadly I didn't do either of those.. I had them saved in my old library. I'm still really bummed I did a system refresh/reset, it uninstalled The Sims 4 and messed with my saves and tray bin.. And somehow the saves backup I had on my desktop was cleaned too..

First it's a good idea to see if they're in your recycle bin. They could've easily ended up here.
If they aren't there, it's time to reset your PC to a day where it had them saves and wasn't corrupted.
