Showing What Sims 4 COULD have been....

Guys look how amazing this creator and animator is. Enjoy both videos

The first video is just the physics of the hair changed, but with the actual sims 4 engine and the second video are actual awesome animations and dancing with the physics of the hair in a different engine that shows what the Sims 4 COULD have been. Oh and here is the creators YouTube channel where they have tons more videos like this if you guys want to see, it is so cool  . https://youtube.com/channel/UCOPpslZ_Asszyw1878djCBw

EDIT TO ADD: Ok, seriously this is why people hardly post on this forum (its the same group over and over again) and many people have left (including myself until recently). People can't post a fun post without people freaking out. Just get over it, it was meant to be a fun post at what the game could have been (the game was a flop its not speculation, its not a secret, it just was). This was meant to be a lighthearted, fun post showing some cool stuff and people just go nuts. Its sad that some (not all as I have made some cool friends on here) of the posters here are so immature and quick to be nasty and argue.....

This is just to show what could have been done if they went with a different engine for the sims. (yes it can be done, companies do it all the time). Would have been neat.

So this is all possible on a different engine? Maybe they should hire this person <3 Thanks for sharing

This person just rips the models from the game files and converts them to a separate program called "MikuMikuDance". All the physics and stuff is added in that program, only the models themselves are from Sims 4.

The program is literally an animation program though, and it seems weird to compare an animation program to an actual game engine because game engines have a lot more work to do; the only thing MikuMikuDance has to worry about is literally playing the animation frames and the physics. It's a very elementary and low quality animation program, comparatively.

Also, both videos are of the MikuMikuDance program, the first one isn't using the Sims 4 engine.

Also, the person doesn't animate these videos, they just download motion data from other people and put them on the models. The only thing they do is rip and rig the models. They do that really well, but I find it so funny when I see people praising them so much over these videos when really, people have been ripping and rigging models for this program for years and years lol

I know it looks cool, but it's really not anything that special.

It's not a game engine, it's a small and simple program made specifically for cartoon animation like this; it couldn't support a game. And this person literally only converted the models, that's it lol

I know its nothing special, thats the point and in the second video they are using a separate engine. All games use different engines (some use the same ones obviously) and all I said was that the game would be amazing with a different engine.....I also said, if you read what I wrote, that ONLY THE SECOND VIDEO USES A DIFFERENT ENGINE....

The animations are possible on any engine BUT you have to consider that these were made, not to be in a game.

Very complex animations can compromise the performance when you have too many agents performing those complex animations all at the same time.

    The hair physics is discussable.

Actually thats not true, there are certain Japanese games that use a similar engine and it is for IN GAME animations....this isn't anything new. The Game Black desert uses an extremely advanced engine and it is for GAMEPLAY and it does just fine. Also, its 2015, if you want to game you need a better comp. Yes, animations slow performance, but there are ways to make it work.

No it doesn't use a different engine????? They're both from the same program. Lmao I've used this program for years, I know what it looks like. Literally read the descriptions of the videos; both have "Rendered in MMD" at the end. And like I said, this program shouldn't be compared to a game engine because it's just a simple animation program that has little it has to actually do instead of a game engine that literally has to run an entire game.

That has nothing to do with my answer. And just so you know, Black Desert is an MMO -.- aaand I don't see where the big complex animations are.

I quite honestly don't care about what the Sims 4 could have been. It is what it is now, and there's nothing we can do but accept that while still trying to get the things we love back into the game. This is showing nothing but dance animations used in MMD, badly animated ones at that. The movements aren't very fluent.

I think the animations are really good. I enjoyed both videos. I can't find any fault with them, personally. But that's just me.

I agree with you on one thing, though. TS4 is what it is and I accept that. However, for me that means that I also accept that I don't enjoy it as much as previous games. It really does feel like they missed so many opportunities this time around. It's fun to imagine what they could have done if they had pushed the limits a bit. But they didn't.

Thank you love, I hate how the same group always takes a lighthearted post and turns it into something negative and makes nasty remarks. You know what I do when I see a post I don't agree with (especially if its a rather innocent one like mine, I IGNORE IT and move on). Thank you for being so kind and seeing it was just meant to be a fun post :-).

No the figures released and it was the second poorest selling sims game of all time, only selling more than Medieval.......

I enjoy Sims 4. It ain't a flop to me. And it ISN'T the same people making nasty remarks. And throwing insults by saying that they aren't mature isn't exactly mature itself...

Those animations were awesome, but it isn't what Sims 4 COULD have been. It's just, "Look at what people can do with Sims 4 characters". The title of the thread is a little misleading.

I found it fun to see what people are doing with an animation program AND Sims 4. That's a lot of creativity right there! If such physics were to be in a game, it couldn't be Sims 4. Sims 4 focuses more on gameplay, not graphics. If really good animation and really good gameplay were put into a game, then even the strongest computer would probably blow up. My potato powered laptop would die, that's for sure.

A different game engine might make for better animation, but not to the extent of having the same animation as an engine designed specifically for animation.
