Safe Cache Cleaning

I do not know but I assume that there is a cache to TS4 and it needs to be cleaned out just like TS3.
However, I do not wish to just start deleting files that end in .cache and finding out later I lost my games and have to reinstall the whole Sims 4 and additions/expansions.
So I am asking the Simming world out there, how do I safely clean the cache for TS4.

Also, I have loaded package files in the past, and they show up during the loading of the game, but then they are never seen in the clothes sections when I make a new Sim. Is that possible? Show up in the list of added packages during the load up of the game then never be seen again, like it was never there?

Only the base program is free and all it does is faster computer and privacy protection, the cleaner park is with the pro version and that costs money.
