I didn't get a discount. I did read that someone got a 20% discount from Origin from talking to customer service. If I recall it was because they couldn't fix the issue.

I'm in the process of talking to another rep who is making me go through the same steps as before. He keeps saying, "This will surely work!" I am beyond irritated at this point but am trying to be as nice as possible. I told him that I used 3 different computers, cleared the cache on all of them, etc., and he still doesn't get it. I guess this is the script they have to go through or something. Now he says they're sending my case to the "concerned department" ... lol. What a mess!! I really just want a discount so I don't have to buy $40 worth of gift cards to pay the extra dollar in tax! Sorry for all of the venting today! I just find this ridiculous!! Thank you all for posting your experiences, too. Hopefully we can all learn something from this.

Hope it works for you BekahBlitz , I'm about to give up. I spent hours on the phone yesterday and all I got was a usless 15% off code. $3.00 for a whole day of frustration. Send me through a pile of steps where I had to reboot the computer and when I had done all that i got a message saying they figured I left because I wasn't responding! So live chat was ended (smoke is still coming out of my ears)

I have been dealing with this ALL DAY. Now waiting for the email from the "specialist team."

Just hope that I can get the 15% off. I'm 1.19 short. No it doesn't seem like much for all the frustration, but right now I'd take it! Hope we all get our issues fixed soon!

For those of you have been told it could be bank issue, it isn't. The first thing I did was call my bank. The agent himself had mentioned that he too was having issues when he tried to buy the GP before heading off to work. So it is a site issue not a bank issue for the greater majority here.

Also, the EA Help Desk guy kept asking "does your card work online?"

    Yes.

    Have you tried it today?

No, I haven't had to buy anything today online. It worked when I swiped it in person today.

    Does your card work online?

My card is fine, this is a problem with Origin.

    Does your card work online?

I just went on Amazon and bought something, though that seems an extreme measure to take to try and get this problem fixed.

Thank you. Can you contact your bank and see if there is a problem with your card?

@BekahBlitz I have just bought £20 to add to my EA wallet from cdkeys.com. So there is a way outside of the bungling Origin 'Customer Service'

Ive at last managed to buy this Game Pack using this.

Origin still haven't taken the block off from my blocked account, and I think their handling of my case has been disgusting, but I no longer need them - I will be buying stuff this way from now on. The rest of my sentence will read plum plum plum plum plum - but you can imagine what I'm saying. :D

Are those of you buying Walmart gift cards buying them in $20 increments? Have you tried buying a $25.00 gift card? That will still cover the game pack, despite you having to pay tax on it, I would think.

I'm in the UK, I didn't know we could do this. If my account isn't sorted tomorrow I'll try this.

My walmart in backwoods PA only had the 20$ EA cash card (if thats what you mean, not just generic gift cards). I saw a sims 4 25$ card, but was thinking that I wouldn't need more than 20. More fool me, lol.

I used my MasterCard with no problems, and I never save my bank information on line. I order direct from the Origin , and downloaded it right after

I am unable to use either my American Express or my MasterCard, either in the Origin application directly or in a browser. The only thing I have succeeded at is removing the (valid) card on file. What I get now is:
"Your request could not be processed. We're unable to verify this credit card."
In any of the four configurations. The cards are fine, I'm sure.

I am going on 30 hours after speaking to someone from EA with this issue. I think I am going to try to buy one of those cash cards from somewhere, as 30 hours with no resolution or communication is ridiculous. I am wondering if my account may have had someone try to hack it. I have some games on my history that I supposedly tried to buy, that I didn't.

When K-mart got it's account hacked, my son's bank put a hold on all the accounts that had brought any thing from K-Mart with in a week of that time, and they reissued them new cards. If it's a bank card check with your bank, they might have a hold on it for that reason.

This is what happened to me to, origin put a lock on your payment method when this happens, remember to tell them that your account was hacked when you speak to them.

I have verified one of the cards online. There is no hold. Ironically, due to my age, automatic purchase profiling often flags games purchases I make. So I am fluent in that drill, and its why I try to use one card for them now to avoid that. I am 100% sure my AmEx is fine for this purchase, it does not show it was contacted.

That's frustrating. I went to origin.com and paid with a bank issued visa debit card and had no trouble. Maybe for some reason people in certain areas are having a problem? I really don't know (obviously), but I hope you get your answer soon!

I've tried ALL these things too... (different credit cards, paypal, delete web cache, delete WHOLE COMPUTER cache, reboot, tried to buy a cash card online) even was on livechat with a completely useless person - but I did get a 15% discount. Now if only I could use it!

You can't use the discount on Outdoor Retreat. I know because I have one also. I don't think you can use them on new games.

Yeah you can. I used the discount I got on Outdoor Retreat no problem.

OK going on the assumption above that my Origin account may have been hacked and flagged I looked back and saw failed purchases around XMas for an item I did not want or try to purchase. So I changed password and added phone auth, then tried to contact Origin about this.

It won't give me any contact choices UNLESS I set my location as outside the US (Canada/UK is fine) .. difficulty: I am in the US. I have never even had a passport! It may be time to give up.

There is a spot for me to put the code and the discount applies to the price but my credit card , paypal , husbands credit card and my daughters credit card all got rejected. The discount is there all right but it's useless if no other payment is acceptable to origin.

Yeah I just checked that too and there was failed attempt to make a purchase for Fifa 15 or something like that on the 3rd of Jan. I have no clue to what that game even in.
