Well, here's what I like: -The graphics. Yeah, the hair is a *little* cartoony, but I still like it, and with free hair meshes it's gotten better. -The CAS part. SO much easier to use. I can't quite remember what Sims 2 was like even though I played it for like, ever, but with Sims 3 I felt like there wasn't quite as much customization as I would have liked, and I feel that with Sims 4 I have the ability to fine tune sims better. -Loading time is extremely fast on my game, and I'm grateful for that! With Sims 3 it took almost 10 minutes to load my game (I have every EP/SP, and a LOT of customized content so that's no doubt why, but still). -Build mode! Much easier to use now. I still trip up every now and again because I'm so used to Sims 3, but I do really like the changes and have been building and rebuilding different houses to see what I like best.
What I don't like/wish was back: -I MISS TODDLERS! They were *so* much fun in Sims 3, and it's really creepy the way the babies jump out of the cot as a kid! -I agree with another person who said they feel like they spend too much time trying to get rid of negative emotions. I mean, I don't exactly play Sims for real world emotions... If I wanted that I'd, y'know, socialise with people in real life... -BASEMENTS. Miss 'em! -As many have said previously, the worlds are TOO SMALL! There's like, what, 3 lots that I can build houses onto? And no ability to add more lots... It's a shame. -I'm eagerly awaiting animals. The butterflies are cute but I want to be able to capture them like we can the frogs! I want to see dogs running around, and have pets! (Also, the fact that you can't feed the fish and they go from fresh to foul in the tank is very annoying. When my sims go in a room where there's a foul fish bowl, they get that gross moodlet and the only thing I can do is delete the fish.) I miss fish tanks/small pet cages and whatnot. -POINTY EARS IN CAS! I didn't even realise how much I missed this until I tried to make Link from Legend of Zelda. :( I want the pointy ears back, please!
Basically, I'm really hoping something similar to World Adventures and Supernatural comes our way soon. I feel like I paid a lot and got very little, even with the three months of free updates (which please don't misunderstand, I'm grateful for them, but I feel like a lot of it should have already been in the game). The new game pack that's coming out doesn't look like it has much that interests me for the price, either. I'm holding off on full judgement until it comes out and I can see reviews/gameplay, but at this point it definitely doesn't look like something I'm going to spend TWENTY DOLLARS on when the content could either have come from another free update or be out for like, 9.99 instead.
Things I don't like: -There are A LOT of loading screens. I rarely visit other lots for this reason; plus, sometimes the game keeps loading and I have to reset my computer to play again (also losing all my unsaved progress.) -Very few lots. -Sims that, when I invite them to my house, stay there and never leave. This is seriously an issue, I've got one family with 10 people living in their house for like a week. And there's no "go away" option. They eat all my food, ruin my things and sleep in my beds! -No toddlers. It's not like they were a huge part of the game for me but they were cute and fun to play with. Also, they made the sims life seem longer. -The weird camera. I know there's an option to use the sims 3 camera but it doesn't work properly; without me touching anything it keeps moving everywhere and gets very hard to control. -Teenagers. The only difference with adults is that they go to high school and do homework. It's boring. -Relationships and family. I can't see how are the sims related without directly clicking on them. I didn't even realized my sim already had a daughter (I knew his girlfriend was pregnant but had no idea when she gave birth; they don't live together.) -Can't bring friends from school or work. -Can't make friends in school or work. -Creepy sims staying at the door of my house for days. Really, it's pretty annoying. -All the locked objects. (Is there a cheat for this? Not the hidden objects one.) Really, seeing all those things I could have but can't it's frustrating. And you have to be great at every skill and job to try unlock them all. -The people I call to clean my house never show up, show up one a week or don't clean anything at all. -No gardener. -Not many games to play with others (particulary sports.) -No cemetery. Had to kill a sim to see an actual ghost. -The cinema lot, grocery store. -No basements. There is more but I'll stop there...
Things I like: -CAS: great new options (although it's pretty hard getting used to the controls.) -Multitasking. About time! -Emotions. -Gallery. Much better than downloading mods that ended up destroying the sims 3. -Gourmet cooking. -The quality. Everything does seem more alive.
Extra: I have a problem with the ambrosia dish and resurrecting a dead sim. I cooked the dish three times (and it took a long time to improve my skills and gather the fish), then gave it to my ghost sim and nothing happened. It looked as if my sim was going to resurrect because it said so in the action it was performing but then nothing happened; only my sim had a question mark in the thought bubble. Does anyone know anything about how to fix this?
The Sims 4 New update has broken my sims. I can't do anything on it. I can place one item then it stops. I can't see walls either. I cannot Do anything. I will make a family and then save it and leave the game and then it deletes the family i had. The Sims team needs to fix this immediatly.

The game costs 70 $ and lost SO many great stuff.. Thank God I tested it before I paid for it.
I don't know how many times people told EA to have weather, cars, animals, open world, CAS, etc to be part of the base game.
Really I like Sims 3 alot more compare to Sims 4 (Sims 2 will always be my favorite) because there were SO MUCH you could do. If you want to take a walk at night in the neighborhood you could do that, if you want to swim in the morning you could do that, if you wanna go to the cinema in the weekend you could do that. etc I feel they cut so many, many, many important stuff in the Sims 4.
If you are going for work or school you just dissappear (Like in the Sims 2!) . They cut so many good things and goes back to some of the the Sims 2 functions. EA/Maxis should suppose to move forward with new functions and possibilities if they want to create successful games, but no, they move backwards. I like playing the game, I have played it more for hours like I do in the Sims 2-3 but there is SO MUCH missing. I am dissapointed. I have seen other games being improved much more with years and this? They threat us that if the Sims 4 isn't successful then they won't make Sims 5. Well what a good service.
EA/Maxis seriously do something about it. I look forward to the game packs with MUCH MORE IMPROVEMENT AND OPPURTURNITIES. (If you really do care for our wishes)
The progress of the game is too game/goal directed rather than player directed. Your sims4 sims cannot achieve a work promotion without finishing the stated goals, whereas in sims 3 there is some latitude in how work progress toward promotion is achieved and maintained. I feel the game is playing me rather than I am playing the game.
I can tolerate the loading screens if they are short in length, but the stark whiteness is startling and annoying. I do however like that when my sim goes to a community lot there are a fair number of sims there for my sim to contact in contrast to sims3, where sometimes there was only a handful of sims on the community lots. This however, is most likely because there are not many places for the sims to be. there are many "out of world" sims that show up on community lots and pass by your homelot. Let's face it, there are not many community lots, and not many residential lots, so where else are all the sims going to congregate? On the few lots available.
In contrast, in sims 3, in the open world, there were many community lots and rabbit holes and homes for your sims to be, so there presence had to be spread out. I read a suggestion in another thread at another site, that if you reduce the number of community lots and increase the things the sims can do at those community lots you will have more sims showing up. By combining rabbitholes, and combining the function of community lots, I have thriving business and community activity.
I do like that I can have populated community lots in Sims4 without having to edit my town, but at what cost to my gameplay style and enjoyment?

Well actually pools and ghosts have been added to game in a update...and as well as two new careers like business and althele
- much better graphics - i like the different emotions that you can experience - building is easier - i love how its easier to get promotions and the new types of jobs you can get :)
things i don't like :
- the amount of updates. can't be helped but so annoying. - ORIGIN. - How my sim burns itself and the house the first time she cooks. Happens quite often. - Cant change colours of furniture etc.

They patched in a way to unlock the locked items. tm.unlockall can be used if you have the script mod that lets you use that, found here: http://modthesims.info/d/534097. I've removed mine because now you can type bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement. <-- which is UBER long I might add, but it works.
Teen being visually and functionally identical to adults,
Probably been said so many times but I am going to go with this as well, the age thing showing up is a quick patch on a bigger issue, teens need to actually be a bigger difference then what they currently are, it's not good. Ideally a bit smaller or something to set them apart.
The sim supply made a video on the disturbing sight of it and how similar they could look to older ages
A reminder that an expansion pack is coming along, and yet somehow there are still no Dishwashers.
I pretty much love everything about the game! New CAS is amazing. It was one of my favorite things to do in TS3, and it's even better now!
What I have suggestions regarding:
I suppose in the grand scheme of things this isn't a huge deal, but I was upset to find that there was no Christian themed object in the Holiday Pack. There was a Menorah as well as a Kinara, but there was nothing Christian related to complete the set. I just was disappointed that the other religions or observances that celebrate holidays around this time of year were represented, but Christmas was not. If there was any way to have an addendum update to the Holiday pack for a fix, that would be greatly appreciated.
I've written notes on what I'm having an issue with since the new update and patch, when I'm not playing with cheats I've notice that my game will freeze up but it continues to play leaving the time the same, so I'm losing time waiting for my sims to catch up to what I want them to do. When I give them a command they will stop and do nothing. I've also notice when I started a new game it takes several weeks for plants to grow around the towns even though I've visited the areas several times to check. I also noticed that my emotions are confused ie when my sim woke up from being sleep it said she was tense from pulled muscle from exercising when it should have said sore from cheap furniture. Did the death plant and it's not counting in collections. On a good note I notice that the sims get a lunch break while at work. Nice touch. Love the vacation days that is really cool. I've been playing since the Sims 1 but actually started being a simmer with TS3. Was excited with TS4 and learned how to play then went back to TS3 only to be upset because it looked complicated. I really miss the color wheel I hate having very little to choose from. All the sims have the same hairdos, we need more options as far as clothes colors hair face options with more dimples. So as of right now I have to take a break from TS4 until the glitches are fixed. I purchased a brand new laptop for just this game since it's not available for Mac user. Until next time.......
I like the graphics of the game, I think it is done well. I like the emotions added to the game, although I didn't at first it eventually gets easier to go with and then just becomes natural to the game play. I really like the fact that baby's have there own bassinet and I like how in a sense everything has a little more depths (school grades are harder to raise, right answers must be given in special circumstances for work/school to move up. I like that your child goes to daycare when you are not and I like the new map. I like how you can go between households without losing game play. Although I like the new map tho, i don't like the time it takes to travel. I find that many things are harder to do and just complicate things such as trying to move/kick a person out. I feel although you are more connected to your household sim its harder to connect to sims not inside your house hold. I practically dislike everything they did with children in the sims. I do not like that children can not work on homework together or ask for help. I do not like that they totally skipped the toddler stage and shortened the baby stage to practically nothing. Toy selection sucks, altho i do appreciate the activity tables and little violin. I do not appreciate the view and feel the sims in a lot of aspects is lacking. The skills area i find is lacking and the rewards not only are pathetic but the points to get them and the aspirations as well as the little bubbles with your goals is very sad as well. There are many things i do like about the sims 4 but I find myself finding more stuff to dislike about it. I feel they should've spent another year creating it because it was no-where close to being launched. I trust that they are going to release many expansions to give back the wonderful experiences were use to having in sims 3 but it makes me feel more robbed then reassured.
please don't say "Enjoy or off" or " Get out of the way if you don't love this game" etc
because after spending money, more or less will be a sense of loss
build mode is too rigid in my opinion
maxis removed the terrain tools
we also lose the ability to build different foundation and wall height on same floor.
the world is a big stepped backward
not only matter of open world
20 lots is too few
the bars/lounges/clubs are boring
we need a place to eat and shop
the sims 4 had cut off too many edges
I feel chilling when I see the reduced graphic and textures
where are toddlers and CAST
why can't they bring back animated hair like sims 2
it's already sims 4, they should have height slider
surprised their is no height difference between teen-elder
these are all achievable, Maxis is just too lazy to make it
they only need to design one animation, just need a formula
it is just a matter of variables
in fact, in sims 2, adults could stoop to kiss their childhood children.
so these could be achieved already
just because they feel no need so do not bother
now, for current sims 4 development can only wait and see. .
"we also lose the ability to build different foundation and wall height on same floor"
Confused. I couldn't figure out how to do this at all before anyway. It was either all even or bust.
Basements in TS2 also being such a pain.

I said this in another thread but feel I should also share it here too......
I'm one of the few people who have enjoyed this game despite what I feel it is missing. I have the new broken bar bug that makes going there pretty useless....I can deal with that. I have the new Sims standing on the sidewalk every time I load a lot.....I can deal with that too!
What has become game breaking for me?? RELATIONSHIPS!! All the sims in my neighborhood have multiple romantic relationships. Everyone is bi-sex-ual! It's like one big o-r-g-y! If a married couple has a full green and pink bar, they should NOT be picking up side romances. THIS, I can no longer deal with!!
Until they fix EVERYTHING that is wrong with the relationship system in this game, I'm done...sadly!! I'm going back to Sims 2 & 3!!
I pretty much love everything about the game! New CAS is amazing. It was one of my favorite things to do in TS3, and it's even better now! <br />

There's a Christmas tree and there's a wreath. That's as close as you're going to get.

"We Don't Care If You LIKE The Game, Just As Long As You BUY The Game!"
I Disapprove (Naturally) I Took The Pledge!
I really like The Sims 4 and think it's just as good as The Sims 3 just in a different way.
Things I like the most 1.The new CAS and Build mode. It's made creating lots and Sims a lot easier. 2.The slower loading times. In Sims 3 my game takes probably 15 min. to load. 3.The emotions my Sims are just hilarious to watch.
Things I like the least 1.The fact that lots are limited to 3 stories. 2.Sims in the world won't marry or do anything else without your input. 3.There aren't any really curly hairstyles. My Sim just can't look like me without curly hair.

No toddlers!
No animals!
No weather
How teens are identical to adults. Plus their voice should have it's own like in the Sims 2
No Family tree
The loading screen every single time you want to visit a place
No ghosts
It's dark inside the house
Not so many oppurturnities as you had in Sims 3. (Beach/cinema/grocery store/etc. or just walking around the neighborhood)
Less job oppurturnities.
The limited neighborhood (there is like only 2 empty grounds and 2-3 houses to move in. What the hell? Such a small neighborhood.
No rabbit holes!
You can't carry your baby anywhere
Can't make friends.
You can't lock your doors.
Teen can't have pimples.
No aliens! :(
They need to bring cutscenes back !
No eyelash lenght slider
What happened to moveobjects on cheat?
Bring private school back!
No basement
Dishwashers is gone!
I miss the hot tub!
- much better graphics
- i like the different emotions that you can experience
- building is easier
- i love how its easier to get promotions and the new types of jobs you can get :)
things i don't like :
- the amount of updates. can't be helped but so annoying.
- ORIGIN.
- How my sim burns itself and the house the first time she cooks. Happens quite often.
- Cant change colours of furniture etc.
They patched in a way to unlock the locked items. tm.unlockall can be used if you have the script mod that lets you use that, found here: http://modthesims.info/d/534097. I've removed mine because now you can type bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement. <-- which is UBER long I might add, but it works.

I trust that they are going to release many expansions to give back the wonderful experiences were use to having in sims 3 but it makes me feel more robbed then reassured.
because after spending money, more or less will be a sense of loss
build mode is too rigid in my opinion
maxis removed the terrain tools
we also lose the ability to build different foundation and wall height on same floor.
the world is a big stepped backward
not only matter of open world
20 lots is too few
the bars/lounges/clubs are boring
we need a place to eat and shop
the sims 4 had cut off too many edges
I feel chilling when I see the reduced graphic and textures
where are toddlers and CAST
why can't they bring back animated hair like sims 2
it's already sims 4, they should have height slider
surprised their is no height difference between teen-elder
these are all achievable, Maxis is just too lazy to make it
they only need to design one animation, just need a formula
it is just a matter of variables
in fact, in sims 2, adults could stoop to kiss their childhood children.
so these could be achieved already
just because they feel no need so do not bother
now, for current sims 4 development can only wait and see. .
Confused. I couldn't figure out how to do this at all before anyway. It was either all even or bust.
Basements in TS2 also being such a pain.
Btw try
in sims 3
shift+ctrl+c
type in:testingcheatsenabled true + constrainfloorelevation false
then you may use terrain tool to adjust the wall height
/derp
There's a Christmas tree and there's a wreath. That's as close as you're going to get.
"We Don't Care If You LIKE The Game, Just As Long As You BUY The Game!"
I Disapprove (Naturally)
I Took The Pledge!
Things I like the most
1.The new CAS and Build mode. It's made creating lots and Sims a lot easier.
2.The slower loading times. In Sims 3 my game takes probably 15 min. to load.
3.The emotions my Sims are just hilarious to watch.
Things I like the least
1.The fact that lots are limited to 3 stories.
2.Sims in the world won't marry or do anything else without your input.
3.There aren't any really curly hairstyles. My Sim just can't look like me without curly hair.
