Can we add more traditional furniture??

I feel like all of my furniture options are very limited to "modern" looking. I need some traditional style in the game!

I personally like art deco style furniture, it would be nice if they added art deco pieces into the game  but I think that's just my wishful thinking. ;) It's a very specific era.

    I love art deco!

It would also be nice if they added some mediæval looking furniture and build options.
    (Neo)Romanesque and baroque too.

I'd love some different furniture styles as well. I do like some of the modern furniture but it gets boring putting the same pieces in every house. I think it would be pretty fun to try to have full home sets in several different styles.

Definitely needs to happen. I want to see a couple of beds and dining sets at the very least with a more rustic style. Rustic wooden stuff in particular can look very nice with the painterly style they're going with in this game. Some old fashioned counters/cupboards wouldn't hurt either...

I'd like to see some older furniture styles that aren't also expensive + comfortable. Something a little more beaten-up-and-passed-down or junk-sale than high-end antique.

I agree. I generally prefer a more traditional style and feel that it looks good with the style of the houses in Willow Creek, where I prefer to play. My favourite style is French country and I am pleased to see that this style is fairly well represented at present, but I don't want all my interiors looking like clones of each other, which is a real danger because I keep gravitating towards the same limited range of wallpapers and objects that suit my taste. So I would dearly love to see some other traditional styles, like English country, rustic farmhouse, log cabin, shabby chic and so on. I am not averse to the craftsman style which is also well represented in the game, but I feel that it was overdone in Sims 3 and I am tired of it now. Let's have something different!

There are so few couches, Worst, most of the love seats have no similar style couch to match them. Same goes for living chairs. Don't get me started on color. (Alright, I'm already started.) I'm sure there are other colors difficult to match (the reds that look purple maybe) but green remains my nemesis. There's no consistent shade: you have olive, bright yellow green, sage, blue green. It's nearly impossible to match greens.

It is strange that so many of the beds are modernistic. In fact, the "uncomfortable" modern bed looks a lot like the "comfortable" modern bed. The difference is in the sheets.

The game will get more furniture with EPs and such, but I wish EA would for once put some thought into styles and colors when they release a game. What we have should at least match. Floor tiles don't go with wall tiles, etc. It's very frustrating.

I would LOVE a huge Builder's Dream stuff pack filled with loads of new building options/objects and styles! :)
As for specific styles, I would like to see Medieval, 1700s,1800s (cottage life/rustic stuff pack or Farm Life EP with rustic furniture and style please!), 20's, 30's, 40's, 50s, 60s, Chinese, Modern (New York style), Art Deco, Retro, Baroque etc.
By the way, @songsmith2003, I would love to see more color options too! :)

We need a variety of styles at all price points. It annoys me to no end that the most comfortable of the furnishings are always the most traditional, like the most expensive bed and sofa. I like a wide variety of styles and I would like to be able to decorate my sims home with a similar style at different price points and comfort levels. I also desperately wish we had bedspread choice separate from bed frame color and could buy extra comfort for beds (like buying a new mattress). The bed comfort thing was annoying in both the Sims 2 and 3. I found myself using the same beds over and over so my sim would get enough energy. I agree also with the color matching, it drives me nuts sometimes.

Edit: If we were able to buy comfort for bed, they might be able to do replace cushions for sofas and chairs too, which would be nice. They also need to put out a sofa and matching love seat and chairs like the sofa reward in the tech guru job. I really like the style of that sofa, but 1. its locked and 2. it only comes in three colors. I don't hate the colors, they are just limiting to work with.

I agree with the @JMS23 that we need some more traditional furniture. My period rooms lack that character. :)
