Definitely laptops and game consoles. Game consoles would allow two Sims to work on video game skill at same time, along with filling Social and Fun needs.

Standup video games/pinball games for both home and commercial venues.

Dance floor for proper dancing (facing your partner instead of just moving next to them) and slow dancing -- maybe even bring back group dances like the Smustle.

Digital cameras and digital photo frames that can hold/display the photos on a rotating cycle, and video cameras where you can show the videos on the TV (like we had in Sims 3 Generations).

Actual pastry oven that can bake pies and cupcakes -- that cupcake machine is a monstrosity that doesn't fit in most houses. :\

I totally agree on the fans, they were so cool to have in The Sims 1 :p Also why have a DVD player when you can have a Blu-Ray player? o.O

They used to have an mp3 player in The Sims 2. I wish they'd bring those back and the handheld games. I was really disappointed in not having that many useful electronics in The Sims 4.

Toasters! Wow kind of surprising that hasn't been a thing now that I think about it.
A reminder that an expansion pack is coming along, and yet somehow there are still no Dishwashers.

We should totally get this, but add in the jam stove from the Sims 1/Sims 3 so we can put jam on the toasts :)

I just thought of some more ideas.

    Vacuums
    Blenders for smoothies and milkshakes
Juicer because we all know our sims love their juice
Toaster oven for pizzas and other stuff
small cupcake maker because the one they have now is too big for their kitchen
    Chopper
    Food processor
    Waffle maker
    Meat grinder
    Tabletop grill
    GPS once we have cars
E Reader similar to Nook or Kindle like we had in TS3
    Printer/scanner
    Paper shredder
    Pencil sharpener that's functional
Home security system that works in the whole house as one unit. Includes surveillance cameras that the sims can watch your every move
Portable DVD or Blu ray player
Handheld gaming system like Nintendo DS
More options for cell phone such as texting, apps, music, more services such as butler, Chinese takeout, takeout for sandwiches, handyman, firefighter, police once we have burglars

I wonder where we would store all of the kitchen electronics and the office electronics. Why not have counters that open up and the small kitchen electrics would pop up when in use. In real life there are counters that do this. For the office there could be shelving units where the electronics n equipment could be shelved.

    • Blender
    • Juicer
    • Computers with Towers (People spend time and money irl customizing their rigs like fancy cars, so why are we stuck with flatscreens like it was some kind of mac?)
    • More old fashioned machines for vintage sims (Tandy/Radioshack colour computer from the 80's anyone?)
    • Game consoles
    • Wall/Desk Phones
    • Handheld game console
    • Video Arcade machines (like we had in LN)
    • Pinball machines
    • Arcade racing games (car and/or bike style)
    • Sim Dance Revolution (however you have to name it, I simply MUST watch my sims wipe out on this!)
    • Mechanic's car or computer (kind of like what we had in ts2/ts3, except the computer could be an option aside from the car if thos don't appear in game after all, need practical ways for my simmies to boost their skills!)
    • Popcorn maker
    • Cotton candy machine
    • Snowcone maker
    • Icecream maker
    • Rotating hotdog grill
    • Chocolate fountain (PLEASE!!!)
    • Bread maker
    • Rice cooker
    • Toaster
    • Claw machine (either like the one from TS3 or double wide like the Sega UFO catcher, Nintendo made some non-brand versions like this for Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life)
    • Upright pianos
    • Drumsets
    • Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba/Sousaphone)
    • Strings (String bass/Cello, Electric/bass guitars)

More when I think of it...

    • Strings (String bass/Cello, Electric/bass guitars)

More when I think of it...

Definitely the upright piano -- I've suggested that before but didn't think of it here because it's not technically an "electronic" item (unless we have something like the electronic keyboard from Sims 3 LN). I also like the additional instruments; might have to decide which ones would have a child's version if any (like there's the child's violin in game). I really like the fact that kids can play piano and violin; when they took that away in Sims 3 I was really upset about that.

And I like the claw machine but it should actually cost Simoleons to try and get something. Either bring back the Lucky trait or modify the Geek trait where they have a greater chance of getting a rare item (like a crystal, element or MySims figurine), and Unlucky trait or Clumsy would have greater chance of failure. (Guess if you had a Clumsy Geek like Liam O'Dourke the two would cancel each other out and they'd just have a normal chance of success.)

Since you can play games on your mobile phone or get the tablet, not sure the handheld games would be necessary.
