This is probably more nostalgia than an idea suggestion, but I find I really miss the design elements of home and neighborhood from Into the Future. I really liked the feel and aesthetics of the building designs in Into the Future,
As for life states, Plumbots. I didn't care all that much for Simbots in Sims 3, but Plumbots I liked. If they were to make a comeback in some form, however, I would like to have an expanded CAS experience with them to optionally make them more Sim-like. There'd still be the same robot parts list, but also some parts more closely resembling human parts as well as a customizable face.
Also, Vampires. I can't say I've had too much of a problem with previous implementations of Vampires in the Sims, though I tend to share a lot of folks aversion to sparkling in the sun. I do think Sims 3 struck a decent balance with Sun exposure, however, and don't think Vampires should be immune to the Sun absent purchasing a special trait. Some different powers might be nice, though. There was a mod for the Sims 3 I liked that gave Vampires the ability to dominate other Sims(with a glowing eye effect) similar to how Genies could control Sims, and a neat power to teleport in a cloud of bats. So powers along those lines would be nice.
I guess part of what I'm saying is that the previous Sims games explored a lot of good content, so I'm not particularly opposed to the idea of re-creating the good from those past games where possible with the new and updated engine content.

I loved Fairies in Sims 3 best. Their wings were so beautiful and I love that they could use their magic on plants and had more gardening gameplay options. I adored all the alchemy stuff, too, no matter what life state I played.
Witches were pretty cool too, though, with casting spells and broom riding.

I like magic, but I think it should simply be a skill any Sim can learn. A spell-casting life state is served perfectly well with Fairies. Insofar as we might want the magic skill to be somewhat exclusive, I think it should just be made extremely difficult/slow to progress for everyone save fairies, who have a bonus to progressing the skill. Everyone else could spend most of their lives trying to master that skill, and might need to purchase life-extension potions to do so.
I tend to agree with you on Zombies, though. I like zombies, but I don't think they fit thematically with the Sims and found the random zombies on the full moon especially irritating.
I couldn't make a sexy werewolf, and it annoyed me that vampires had to be pale in their "true" form and could not walk in the sunlight. I watch a lot of TV and I have not seen one witch use a wand, ride a broom stick. I've seen plenty of beautiful nair using werewolves and all vampires had a tan and could walk in the sunlight and not one was gothic.
I want a new face this time with magic as one of my favorite practitioners of magic once said, "So long as you live in the past, you'll never find your future." — Rumplestiltskin (Once Upon a Time)
My Mood:
Dude, I can't speak for you, but I'm happy that the sims does not try to "remake" monsters like the shows you're talking about do. In folklore, werewolves are hairy, vampires are pale and can't see daylight, and witches use wands and brooms.
You need to watch more Nosferatu and The Wolf Man and less Once Upon a Time and Being Human. Hell, if you don't want to watch black and white movies, then go and watch something that still stays true to the folklore, like Hocus Pocus- witches with brooms, potions, and hexes!
Next you're gonna be saying that you wish aliens weren't bald and green and looked more like the Doctor...
I generally agree with startama in regards to vampires and werewolves though, like I said earlier, I'm not particularly fond of witches as a life state. I'd much prefer magic to be a skill anyone -Sim, Vampire, Werewolf, anyone- could pick up. Maybe different life states might get different flavors to their magic, though.
I would like to see some additional powers for vampires, too. Something like a dominating gaze power that allows them (the player) to take control of another Sim, for one. There was a Sims 3 mod that gave vampires a power to teleport in a cloud of bats that might be neat as well. I don't think Vampire should be an inheritable life state, however, assuming vampires can have children at all, just something applied to Sims by other vampires. I think it should disable aging for the particular Sim, though maybe something creative could be done with it.
Say they never move beyond their current life stage, but the ticker keeps going. As they approach what would be the normal end of their life stage, they gain the option to go dormant/sleep. When they sleep in this way, they'll stay asleep (absent player interruption) for at least 24 hours. For every full 24 hours they sleep, they gain back one day on their life span. A player might also choose to have them "sleep forever" or some such option that acts like dismissing a ghost from its gravestone/urn, removing the vampire from the game. Townie/unplayed vampires do this after some number of days automatically to clear the town of extra vampires.
This mechanic might give the opportunity to introduce a NPC Sim like the burglar called the Vampire Hunter. While a Vampire is dormant, there is a random chance that a Vampire Hunter might visit the lot, sneak in to the house, and start setting up some manner of Rube Goldberg device to "slay" the vampire. Vampires who wake up scare off the Hunter, but if they don't they can be sealed in a coffin and carried away to "sleep forever" or some other behavior, assuming the contraption doesn't fail and wake them up.
Maybe a vampire trapped and carted away like this has a certain base chance to escape, or require a certain set of skills to do so, returning home disheveled and with some level of terrified "Hunter Hunted" moodlet for a few days. This moodlet might act like the one from the cowplant, meaning that if they are captured again while possessing it, they have no chance to escape.
I'm not saying they should just redo this as Once Upon a Time. I'm saying they should open the varieties more so people can create what they want, I could create what I believe is true about magic, which is Once Upon a Time and Teen Wolf (MTV), and others can create their Nosferatu or the Wolf Man whatever that is. no one should be restricted to just one side.
My Mood:
That said, I think what modding access we have for the Sims 4 allows for the creation of custom traits that you could apply to your Sims to tweak them the way you like. A "Lifelike" trait for vampires that removes daylight limitations and paleness, for example. Or a "Master Caster" for Witches that allow them to forgo wands (assuming either of those things makes a comeback). Pop in some custom traits that can be bought for little or no Satisfaction points and you could run with your stories.
I hated the TS3 zombies. Eventually I installed a mod that prevented them altogether. I don't mind them. (TS2 actually made sense because zombies were brought about by being a cheapskate during resurrection. We already know Grimmy has an odd sense of humor.) Has anyone seen In the Flesh? Zombies like that would be pretty cool.
Then again, different strokes for different folks. One could probably make a similar argument regarding the horror elements of werewolves and vampires, I suppose, but I think the intelligence and free will aspects of those types gives them a foothold even in something as light as The Sims. Just my two cents.
I do agree with you about the Werewolf morph in the Sims 3, however. It just looked weird to me.
What do you propose for that? Anything that would create the variety that you want would destroy what others want. If the game lets you have vampires that're tan and can walk out into the sun, then people can't create Dracula or Nosferatu because there's no penalty for them going into the sun. And don't go 'oh use your imagination.' It isn't the same.
The Sims isn't Teen Wolf, why would you want it to be? They look butt-ugly when they turn in that show. Not live wolves at all. And with the "werecoyote" and "werejaguar" crap, they really... Yeah, no. I'm glad that the Sims uses the stereotypical idea of werewolves.
It's actually simple the skin color selection would just expand to accommodate different shades of pale skin and normal skin, so we can easily choose.
as for the burning in sunlight I would just bring it down a notch maybe like they can stay in the sun for 1 hour and then burn, but it became annoying how they burned immediately. or maybe if I chose my vampire to have the "Loves Outdoors" trait or something would enable it some how. or fine a potion again.
Yes because Sims Werewolves are so much better looking.
So we should suffer.
It's a simple request just reverse how magic works, make it so hand magic is default, and wands can be bought in a store instead of "magic hands" Winnie Sanderson is a prime example of a witch who doesn't need a wand. It makes it look like the magic was in the cheap stick not the actual sim.
The sims isn't Dracula or Nosferatu either... I looked it up, and how dare you call Teen Wolf ugly.
For the third and final time people should be able to tell their stories their way. You all have your concept of what a supernaturals are and we have ours, I'm not the only one who wants the wide variety.
My Mood:
I think EA had some great and some not-so-great expansions in the past. Some, like Supernatural had some really good parts (witches and fairies for me) and some not so good ones (zombies attacking at every full moon).
I think they should add a variety of EPs, so people who like the supernatural get what they want and those who don't also get something else the want.
Honestly, I don't see much point in grumping on each other's preferred imaginary creatures, so I think it's best to just move on.
