The Sims 3 Child Walking Glitch

On every household I have, recently every sim child has a walking glitch.
What happens is they take one step, stop, take another step then stop and it carries on like this until they are done with whatever they are doing. It's like somethings in the way of their every step which is super annoying and it happens with every household in every town I have.
They can run though, it's just with walking.
I have tried reseting the sims and reseting the neighbourhoods but these have been unsucessful. Please help?
