Profile Pages

NoWayJose527NoWayJose527 Posts: 1,456 Member
In the past, I've been able to post a message on my profile page. I deleted the one that was there, and I can't find a way to post a new one in its place. Has something changed in the forum? Or have I simply forgotten how to do this? I was using my page to share the ongoing story of one of my sims, and I can't make any update. :(

I don't know where everyone thinks that a new player has to wait 8 weeks to be able to do things on their profile page and to add an avatar as there are still people out there who have been a member of the forums for 8 weeks or longer that still can't do anything yet. So the 8 weeks is wrong. People is misreading what SimGuruBChick has posted on October 24.

Here is what SGBChick posted on October 24th and it doesn't say anything about people having to wait for their 8 weeks to be up so they can edit their avatars and profiles. It states that anyone who has joined the forums within the last 8 weeks prior to this post has had things disabled. They pretty much have disabled things from people who has the term General Users as their role on their profile pages. SGBChick has been a member of the forums since July 10th of this year, but yet she can't add an avatar to her profile yet. So like I said, waiting for their 8 weeks is up is wrong.

Please be assured that we are investigating the recent issues that have surfaced on these forums. Pending our investigation, we are disabling the ability for General Users (people who have joined the forums in the last 8 weeks) to edit their profile, amend their signatures or create new avatars. We trust you understand that while this change may be inconvenient for some users, we believe it is a necessary step to maintain a friendly environment for everyone. We will keep you updated on our progress and next steps.

And here is a thread started by someone who has been a member since August 22nd of this year that can't change their avatar. SGBChick even commented on that thread saying how she still has the plumbob as her avatar. So I'm guessing that even though she is a SimGuru, she still can't change her avatar yet, but she can post on her wall since she is a SimGuru.

And here is one who has been a member since September 3rd who made a post so she can respond to the people who have posted on her wall since she is unable to reply back to anyone yet.

What she said. (Or what he said, as I should never make assumptions about someone's identity.). But, yes, functionality disabled. Not sure when we will turn it back on but hopefully soon. Please be patient. It's not as easy as you would think.
