  You probably have turned On notifications for threads you've posted on, did that once, and never again. I got around 800+ at that time.

  I hear ya, its bad enough I have way too much notifications from the 4-word story thread. I can't even "unbookmark" that one. lol

  I had to give up on that and the word association threads. It was just too much.
  
  On topic, yes disable notifications, I can't imagine the insanity otherwise.

  It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

  Go to your Profile > Edit Profile (it's that small button on the upper left) > Notification Preferences > Turn off notifications in threads I've posted in.
