We have a strict no-Christmas-in-November rule in my house. My daughter wouldn't even let her brother quote a single line of a Christmas song, out of context, at dinner last night! December 1, though, Christmas starts BIG. :)

Personally I really don't like the increased holiday push. Once upon a time you would go shopping right after Thanksgiving and the stores would magically be transformed with decorations. To me that's plenty of time to hype the holiday. Now there are commercials and items before Halloween is over. By the time the 25th rolls around I'm sick of the whole thing.

l couldn't agree with you more!
I started seeing Christmas stuff in September!
(Halloween stuff started showing in Summer! 0.0 )

I like the lights, bit of the music, the movies/ classics (even animated ones), food and family - but -
    hate the beyond-ridiculous Commercialism !

This is also WHY I saved a handful of Christmas CDS from when my kids were little -
    (plays anywhere, once ripped)
No interruptions, only music - the originals .
Not the weird remakes that tend to ruin the classics .

I agree, I love Christmas but I don't love the increased commercialism that goes along with it. We used to joke about seeing Christmas trees for sale in November and now that's the norm - October even. I understand Black Friday and would be fine with that being the start of the commercial Christmas season, but we all know it happens well before that. :(
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

    * replaces eggnog with hot Caramel latte *
(sorry to those that love eggnog -or I'll turn green, lol! )

I've never had chestnuts - despite collecting them growing up - and seeing them everywhere .
Curious , but oddly scared of them.
*What are they similar to? ...*

Lol eggnog is definitely something either you love or hate haha.

I've always found chestnuts are similar to those big Brazilian nuts. Kinda squishy in the inside too.

They're not my favorite, but a must when enjoy the holiday season :D
