Tell us the features you most want to change your World. We have ideas, we have things a spinnin’, but we want to hear from you first hand. What can we do to help you make your The Sims 4 Worlds the best ever?
Yeah, not having an open world is a pretty big backstep. I can understand they wanted to reduce loading times, but not having an open world anymore seems like a cheap solution.
Sorry Zera for saying this but I have to.
The game needs a thorough patch. Some bugs are waiting for the fix since the game got released and are annoying as hell (Beloved trait for example).
Without the polish, the game can't be better. No matter how the Sims 4 world will look, if that new world will also break on every step, that is not fun!
1. Options to have no loading screens between lots within neighborhoods.
2. A "Haunted Mansion" type of world, like Midnight Hollow.
3. A space/astronaut/future themed world, like Disney's Tomorrowland.
4. A farm country world.
The worlds we have are exceedingly pretty and well done. They represent very well two American places. Why not now go global and have new worlds resemble Europe, Asia or Latin America? There is thread right now where people are requesting a world based on England. I would rather fancy that! The thread:
A world with distinctive content would be much more appealing. Perhaps an amusement park, a fan favourite for sure. A martial arts dojo, for your Asian-inspired world. A mal where we could do some shopping. Lavish, extravagant night life complexes.
Restaurants
To be more precise about what could be included, a world that contains working restaurants would be one I'd be willing to pay for. More variety in community lots would be certainly welcome. There has been some feedback on it here:
Moving on, a very simple feature to be implemented would be the ability to rotate whole lots. If that could be expanded upon and we could chose where smaller lots would be positioned when moved into bigger lots, we could after an update in The Sims 3, it would be perfect. People do want it:
I don't know if it is possible or if could only be enabled on better machines, as some of the graphical options, but if there was a way all lots in the neighbourhood could be loaded at once, even if only in special, selected, perhaps commercial neighbourhoods, that would be brilliant.
Open world really is a big thing. At the very least, it'd be better if the neighbourhoods were open...
Whether that's possible or not, the game suffers greatly from a lack of places to go and things to do. There needs to be more venues and places for Sims to hang out at, like diners, restaurants, coffee shops, bowling alleys... and by that I mean places with lot-specific interactions (like actually being able to order a coffee/ dinner and go bowling) as opposed to calling it as such and then sticking in regular furniture we can get at home.
- Make the whole area we can see around us playable.
15 to 20 lots is ideal for me.
- Bring back 60 x 60 lots and larger.
With smaller play areas I was hoping to see larger lots. A 100 x 100 grand estate, or farm would be cool.
- Allow me to place lot areas instead of having to use only what is already there.
- Have items spawn in random areas. Having fixed spawn sites that you can see ruins the fun and surprise of finding things.
- Allow us to have private conversations. It's great that sims love to interact and socials are more interesting, but intruders make me not want to bother with interacting in public areas.
- Allow us to choose the wonderful skies that were shown in the early screenshot releases.
That cartoon sky is just too storybook for me. I feel like I am playing My Sims instead of The Sims.
- A color desaturation level slider in the graphics options.
- I would like to tone down the colors a bit. It's a little too vibrant for me. (Thanks for the reminder, Glic.)
Also trees that look more like trees and less like alien broccoli. I loved some of the trees in TS3.
I've been keeping a list of ideas on my phone.
It's not world specific persay, but it would defiantly help flesh things out a bit.

- Farm life (instead of just dogs and cats, introduce a whole farming themed expansion with animal items like the chickens & cows in the sim store. @Selenagrey had a great post about it.)
More of an open world concept
More community lots that are diverse and designed for different age groups
More lots in general to build on
Bigger worlds with different international influences to the design
Add in a suburb with at least one really large lot for those of us who like to build creepy Winchester mansions and/or spread out commune-style;
Bring back basements and spiral staircases.
Add in a haunted forest/park/cave/house that isn't a rabbit-hole for our sims to explore and experience random events and meet random creatures/unusual sims/chupacabra;
Have the "chance cards" to be optional for those of us who don't like them... and for those of use who do like them (me, me, me)... have them to be more in-depth, random, rarely-the-same-one-twice, and consequential;
Give more in-game clues to content (for example, I would've liked for my botanical-oriented sim to have a hunch that he could graft one type of plant to another to create a totally different plant... instead of randomly grafting plants together until something happens or going to a cheat site to find the different grafting options... I hate finding out I've been missing content options years after an expansion comes out);
Edit: If/when cars are re-introduced, give our handy sims the option to pimp our ride... or let us go to the junkyard and put one together from the ground up.
...
- Allow us to choose the wonderful skies that were shown in the early screenshot releases.
That cartoon sky is just too storybook for me. I feel like I am playing My Sims instead of The Sims.
Wow, it's incredible how much better that photo looks with the desaturated colours and a different sky.
Personally, as far as the worlds go, I just want to see them release a Create-a-World program. Then I might consider getting TS4.

that would bring the community together, the families kids playing out in the street together.

Whoah, okay. This thread changed.
But in my point of view what would make the Worlds better is not having a loading screen when you're visiting a neighbor or going to a lot right next to your Sim.
I'd like to know how population will work as they add worlds.
Modders have established that the total population is around 180 sims living across the two existing worlds. Any more than that, and the game will delete sims that aren't being played or interacted with.
As they add worlds, will this number be raised ?
I loved Midnight Hollow and Strangetown in past games, and would very much like to see those towns and the sims that lived there reimagined.
When I found out there would be no open world, but that we'd be able to travel to any lot in any town, I was ok with the trade off.

And I'd get to see those townies roaming around as I went about my business at various venues.
So as far as worlds go, I think we can all agree that the bigger and more variety we're offered, the happier we'll be.
More venue types, more townies / CAS options, and more items to customize everything and give us stuff to do on the new lots.
While I don't mind that you can't bring back the complete open worlds, what I would like is smaller open worlds, with a street or streets with lots being open world. That way, it wouldn't be too much for the computers to handle, and you'd have a close knit community of sims living together. I don't mind the loading screens to another 'community', for instance a downtown 'area' or 'areas'. There could be a nightclub area, a shopping area and so on, all open world.
I think simmers should be able to control how many sims are generated in their world by the game, the gender and age ratios, and when. AN option would be to have two or more options for how many lots/streets/areas would be loaded at once as an open world. People with better computers could maybe handle more lots, while other wouldn't mind just a few.
Over all, I want more options in controlling and managing the world. If you worry about one aspect of what you choose as developers, you can definitely make more than one option available to simmers. Ofcourse there could be a default that is close to how it looks now, but with options to ramp the game up, in more neutral/extreme/different ways.
Also, I'd love more world tools - for instance an in game tool for creating new careers (add goals etc yourself).
Allons-y!
---> Afterlife Game Pack Idea - improved ghosts, cemeteries and funerals, psychics, new skills, new career and more! <---

More lots and places to visit, praticularly for families. Non rabbithole grocery stores, laundrymats, restaurants, a community pool (when pools are added next month), maybe a daycare...
I feel weird taking my sim kids to the bar so some more stuff for them to do would be awesome.
Also, apologies if I misunderstood the question. People are giving all sorts of crazy answers so I'm starting to think I may have missed the point a bit. :neutral_face:

An elegant solution.
I feel weird taking my sim kids to the bar so some more stuff for them to do would be awesome.
Also, apologies if I misunderstood the question. People are giving all sorts of crazy answers so I'm starting to think I may have missed the point a bit. :neutral_face:
But as always, thanks for taking the time to get our feedback :)
