I usually start out with a female, but where I go from there depends on why I started that game. I used my simself with aging off to do alot of the collecting and aspirations I don't usually bother with when I'm playing family style.
My "normal" method is to start with either a male or a female with the idea of her/his having a certain goal. I also tend to play them legacy-style once that goal is complete because I've usually become fond of them by then LOL
I tend to try and keep it balanced, if I add more sims in, its usually to balance out a family, ie. a thematically appropriate spouse for whatever family I am playing.
Hmm I never really thought of it actually, even though i'm more of a family girl and I do make family sims (which is usually a balance of genders), ,my mom always said I was "boy crazy" lol and sometimes I do find my self making a fleet of awesomely cute boys in CAS. But then sometimes I also enjoy making girl sims due to..well being a girl myself ofcourse xD. But for family creating, a balance is usually the way I go.
I make more females.
But then I play female characters in all games I can. Skyrim, Fallout, Mass Effect, Dragon Age what have you. I have always preferred to play females.
@Dreamie209 - thanks hon - you know I like your normal pink text That one was just too powdery-happy and it was making me question my masculinity AND have a hard time reading.
I'm seeing a trend here LOL Females seem to make females or balance their sims for families. Guys seem to make sims based on their partners of preference. Must be a guy thang... and a girl thang
ETA: Hold the phone... I suppose guys making sims based on their partners of preference is the same as females making families... as long as the guys are settling down with their various partners as well

You mean Justine Keaton Clones...
Anyhoo my game is rather diverse as a male.

What kind of a game are you playing...
I totally agree, the font/colour combo was enough to make me give up trying to read that.
But it matches her avatar, so it all works out.
