Simlish is more practical, because The Sims is played all over the world, and in countries where English is not even spoken as their first language. So by using Simlish, they don't have to come out with many different languages for the Sims.
There wouldnt be enough lines in English. Plus they would have to make it in English but every language. Also the talking would be dull and boring and you cant image what they are saying with their thought bubbles. So it just wouldnt work that good. And even if it did the game would end up being all about language that there wouldnt be time to make the sims be sims.
I prefer Simlish for pretty much all the reasons listed above. Though it would be cute if Sims could learn to speak a short phrase or two such as a greeting in a non-simlish language (English, or whatever the player's language is set to) through books or the like. Then you could have the option to greet other sims with that phrase, but it would often just confuse them. "Hello, how are you?" ".....????!?"

Simlish because if it were English I would notice the same sentences over and over again. It's like the talking Barbie I had when I was a little girl. Three sentences over and over again. It became boring. Edit: I need to get rid of autocorrect on my iPad. Stop turning my English into Dutch
We get this request with every Sims game. I'm sure we got it for the original The Sims; I know it was suggested in the ideas and feedback forums for both Sims 2 and Sims 3. It's enough that the Sims Team has to translate the help files and interactions into many different languages so that the player can understand what they're supposed to do; but when it comes to speaking, Simlish is the only practical option.

The fact that sims pretty much say "Thank you" for everything gets to me though. Every now and then I hear "Vadish"
Sims speaking english will be so wrong.

Also, Simlish.

Agree. I also play the Dutch version of Sims and I like that they have their own language :)
