sub-folders?

So, I think this has been asked to the nth but can't find the answer anyways. Can I use the same system as in ts3, and organize my mods/recolors by just adding sub-folders to my mod folder? Or do I need to do something else first?

You can go one layer deep with folders by default. So you can have:

    \Sims 4\Mods\My folder\mod.package

    but not

    \Sims 4\Mods\My folder\My subfolder\mod.package

however you can go deeper if you edit the \Sims 4\Mods\Resource.cfg file.

By default the file looks like this:

    Priority 500
    PackedFile *.package
    PackedFile *\*.package

open it up in wordpad/notepad and add another line so it looks like this (new line highlighted in bold):

    Priority 500
    PackedFile *.package
    PackedFile *\*.package
    PackedFile *\*\*.package

and then you can have anther layer deep on your folders so:

    \Sims 4\Mods\My folder\My subfolder\mod.package

    will now work.

Thank you! I thought I had read something about this somewhere, but that was before I got the game and I couldn't find my way back.

I feel so bad for wanting cc when I haven't had the game a full week yet...

BTW, could I add even more layer or is 2 the limit?

You can add as many layers as you want, it seems; you just need a line in your Resource.cfg for each layer that you use.

    That's great to know. :)
