I've been playing since 2009 and making noises in the forums for almost as long. Being a "new member" would be funny if I could only post my darn link/pics! Now if I could go back four years in real life.....

I can't even work out where to see how many points I'm short!

So I posted to find out my 'rank'. How can I be a new member when I have been a member since 2009 and have posted 441 - now 442 times.
It's not about posting, it's about how many likes/agrees you get. That way, if people like you and you're not a troll, you get the full benefits of the forum.
Wow, so I haven't been on all day and I feel like I've missed so much. Anyway, I've just checked and apparently I only have 35 points :\ How do I get 50 points? Is it just dependent on how many likes you have? I'm so confused :s
This is highly frustrating where is the moderators post that explains this? yesterday I was fine today when i logged in i was a new member and was restricted I liked and agreed on a few posts and bam back to being a normal member.....great way to treat people pfft
Shouldn't it just go by how long you've been here and not "points"? -__-
This. I've been here a grand total of 1 and 1/2 days. I've already got 400+ points because I post a lot.
If somebody wanted to troll they could just be a social member of the community for a couple of hours and then start spamming the same rubbish that was happening before.
I noticed that too, I guess they don't want to make it too hard for actual users either. At the moment this is a pretty good solution
True. I'm probably being over-critical too. I mean in fairness to EA they can put all kinds of failsafes in place including making people wait a set number of days before they can have the same posting access as everybody else, but trolls will still exploit the system.
The best deterrent is going to be some on the ball, active moderators... and not all just centralised in the USA. The old forum tended to get trolled more during times when Americans were asleep because it was common knowledge that there were no moderators around at that time.
Where can you see how many points you have.
wow I just found my points I have 236 points
So what are they for and how do you get them and what do they mean
I suppose the Moderators could change the 50 point minimum to a higher number if trolls continue to be a problem. And with the rest of us using the Flag button to report them their total points should go down.
Thanks for all the information all. Ranks, points and stuff aren't really that important to me, but it's usually interesting to see how it goes on the forums. Hopefully it won't mean even more fighting as I have seen on other past forums with rank and point systems.
Cool - I just figured out if you leave a thread and come back it will bring you back to where you left off. That is better at least.
I'm finding that really confusing to be honest. My posts aren't appearing in the order they should be until I hit refresh again - wonder if it's related to that.

1 Point for Agree
1 Point for Like
It does not look like you get them for Posts, Likes, LOL, Disagrees, or Quotes.
Added half of that Is that how it works? I thought you got them by posting lol- I'll add that second part Thanks

I'm glad too. I'm sure it will help a bit.
