Can't Install .Sims2Pack files?

SchweighsrSchweighsr Posts: 3,342 Member
I am super happy to get The Sims 2 Ultimate Edition and I have been having an absolute BLAST playing it. My only problem is with installing a bunch of content I made back when the game was new.

My system refuses to recognize the .Sims2Pack files, which should be self-extracting. I made a whole bunch of great lots (well, I think that they are great) that I want to add back into my game - and I can't!

Is there someway to get my system to recognize these files?

Is there another way to extract the lots from the .Sims2Pack files?

Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

Am help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi :D

I still use the clean Installer- http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/

You might have to make it recognize it- Right click-> Open with -> Browse (if it's not there) -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\CSBin
    and there's the PackageInstaller.exe

You also might want to see if you even have a downloads folder in there. I had to make one myself.

If there is no downloads folder in your

    Documents/EA Games/ The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection

then just make a new folder and name it Downloads.

This is what I have been using too. Works like a charm and I can remove any CC that I don't want before installing.
