Sims 4 will release September 2 for the pc version in the U.S. and September 5 in the U.K. unless a delay occurs (There's no information for the Mac version yet but I'm pretty sure there will be a Mac version, just not on the same day). The game will be offline and single player but you must be connected to origin in order to first install it. The game will be 32 bit (doesn't EA get with the times?). Anyway, on to the information...

CAS:
-You can mold sims like clay by just grabbing onto the sim and pulling. Or you can select from a selection of face and body presets.
-The only sliders available are the fitness and weight sliders.
-You can adjust the thighs, calves, butt, stomach, breasts (lift and size), shoulders, feet, and even the eye’s irises. You cannot adjust their hands.
-You can adjust your sim’s posture
-No Create A Style (confirmed cannot not be added later)
-No color wheel (confirmed will not be added later)- I call BS on this lol.
-You can decide skin tone, eye color and hair color via presets. Most are natural colors but you can also have blue, green, pink hair as well as blue and green skin.
-No skin tone slider
-No opacity slider for makeup
-There is a feature called “Styled Looks.” It lets you find a full outfit with just a few clicks.
-Smart Randomizer (You can select specific things that you want the game to randomize for you)
-Hats can be put on any hairstyle
-Boots work better with pants (they either go under or over the pants)
-Accessories are not attached to anything
-Can give sims wrinkles

-Tattoos in the base game. Some parts you can get tattoos at include arm, lower back, and ankle.
-No body hair in the base game
-No favorites (food, music, and color)
-No zodiac signs
-There are 9 Walking styles: Default, Perky, Snooty, Swagger, Feminine, Tough, Goofy, Sluggish, Bouncy. All walk styles can be used for BOTH genders. Emotions can affect your walking style.
-Better facial ethnicities (easier to make sims from all around the world)
-Only CERTAIN hairstyles can be given highlights and those highlight colors are pre-made so you cannot make your own
-You can choose the sim’s voice and pitch. For males: Clear, warm, brash. For females: sweet, melodic, lilted.
-You can choose 3 traits in CAS (one more trait will be given based on your aspiration and you’ll unlock more traits through gameplay)

Deaths
-New death: Laughing to death
-There is no death by depression.
-You can smack down the grim reaper's ipad and demand for your dead sim back.
-Dyeing from an emotion is rare. A Sim guru confirmed that you are more likely to die from fire. You really have to push them to the limits.

Other (whims/needs/etc)

-Categories for the informational panel are Aspirations, Needs, Skills, Relationships, Career, Inventory, Simology (Simology contains the age bar, the sims's traits, the sim's stats, etc.)
-The interaction queue is still there and you can queue up a bunch of stuff.
-You can change your sim's aspiration at any time.
-Sims can have more than one aspiration
-Lifetime rewards from the Sims 3 will be called Aspiration rewards, which you can buy with satisfaction.

-White Plumbombs indicate who is in your conversation.

-You can hover over a whim and it will tell you WHY your sim wants to do it.

-The UI is white now as shown in the 20 min gameplay video.
-There is a white glow around sims and objects when you go to them as shown on the live mode gameplay video (one thing I really don't like).
-There are no click-on heads as shown in the 20 min gameplay video.

Gallary:
-The gallery replaces the exchange
-Allows players to add the creations of others directly into their game
-Players can upload rooms, community lots, residential lots, and Sims
-Sims added through the gallery become part of the active household
-Creators can flag their CC creations in the gallery (so CC is not guaranteed to stay out of your game. If someone did not flag their creation, the person who downloads it will have to take the fall. Oh well.. I'm sure it'll still be tactile and intuitive)
-Players can leave comments on creations
-The creations lists the original creator and the modifiers if someone else modifies it and uploads it
-Players have to be connected to the internet to use the gallery
-To get a house off the gallery your sim needs to have enough simoleons in order to place it and live in it.

Things that have been confirmed at one point but then deconfirmed (after all.. “things change” ;) )

-Last year they confirmed that all 7 life stages would be in the game. Yet they removed toddlers.
-Woohoo skill is removed
-There is no clothes shopping. If I recall, it was confirmed that clothes can have price tags on them and your sim can’t afford the more expensive stuff until they’ve made some simoleons. I’m not sure if they actually confirmed there would be clothes shopping as in actually going to the store to shop but I understand people’s frustration with this when they “de-confirmed” it.
-Sims cannot get pregnant during regular woohoo. A sim guru said on twitter that your sim can get pregnant during woohoo but now she said you can't.
-They said that color would affect the sims mood (for ex, a red dress will make a sim feel more flirty) but now a sim guru has confirmed that color does not affect the sims emotions. (This further raises the question of why they decided to completely get rid of the color wheel).

I don't know if anyone cares about having this list but.. here it is! lol. Feel free to tell me if I made any mistakes or if I missed something :). You can discuss but please be respectful of each other in this thread and no bashing. Thanks!

Also, here is the official gameplay walkthrough trailer. It's about 20 min long:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN2ue9y7_2M

The Sims 4 minimum system requirements:
http://simsvip.com/2014/07/25/the-sims-4-minimum-system-requirements/

*Despite them saying that the routing is better in Sims 4, it has NOT been fixed. On this gameplay video, it shows a sim yelling he can't get by and them cancelling the action in order to talk to the woman like you would expect in the past sim games. It's at around 8:23 or so. (we don't know what will happen in the full game yet so they may still be working on fixing it. Only time will tell. Note that I've also seen a lot of clipping with sims and such, in other videos).

They never confirmed the tragic clown or the social bunny. The Easter eggs in the video were just fun for players to see what had been in past games. It was just a game. They also had rain and pets in that video. Pets and weather were never confirmed to be in the base game.

Also, the Gurus said the article that stated Sims would be right or left handed was not true. There were several things in that article that were not going to be in the game. I wouldn't trust anything from that one article as confirmed.

Considering the they seem to be backtracking and taking out things they said were in I don't believe anything on that list. For all we know they could have removed half the stuff on there.

Um a guru confirmed no left or right handed sims on twitter:

And I never said pets and weather were confirmed to be in the base game. I said pets and weather have been confirmed NOT to be in the base game.

True but that's all what has been confirmed by a guru. They may backtrack on some of these and they may not.

My point was some of the things you mentioned were never confirmed. The tragic clown and social bunny were never confirmed. The Easter eggs were a game to see what players could spot in the trailer from previous games.

Also, the article that mentioned Sims could be right or left handed wasn't trusted in the first place because the article already had made many mistakes. The Gurus even said the article was not correct.

Well many people were disappointed about the left and right handed thing and thought that was something they "de-confirmed." Everybody makes mistakes. I'll change it now.

So the friends/enemies with benefits? So my sim can hate someone but still jump their bones? I've always wanted Sims that were just friends, but had the benefits

Great list! Thanks for posting this.

One thing I think should be added to the build section is that you can now adjust the vertical placement of windows, dragging them up & down walls just like artwork. We saw this in the build mode trailer. :D

Also, I don't know if it's been officially confirmed or not, but I remember reading somewhere you that you could adjust the vertical placement of both tvs and mirrors, and Sims would crook their necks however they had in order to view.

This made me quite excited actually. We're getting a lot for a base game. They just need toddlers and we'd be set. Pools never did much for me personally, and I know we'll get them at some point. Thanks for the list.

Very helpful list! Thank you OP. I'm still not buying it until the price comes down. It's too much of a step backwards.

I think that Loner kinda includes Shy trait.
"Loner - These Sims become Happy when alone, do not receive negative Moodlets when their Social Need is low, become Tense around strangers, and become Embarrassed more often by social rejection."

Yes but shy is really not the same as loner. A shy person would act shy around people they don't know, but that does not mean they want to be alone. They may like the company but they're just too shy to talk to people as easily. They are not happy being alone. Think about it, do you know any shy person that actually wants to stay alone, and doesn't wanna break out of their shell once in a while? Well I guess, sure some of them are loners but not all are anti-social as some people may think. They WANT to talk to people but they just can't because they're shy. I think they made the same mistake with the Sims 3, including loner in the base game but not shy (thinking that loner is the same thing) but then they included shy in the late night expansion pack. Oh and you're welcome for the thread :).

Thank you so much for all your time and effort to put this together.
It makes my so much more excited, if that is possible.
Love sims 4 all the more.
Such a list is so amazing.

    Great list!

Did you pull the list of traits just from the demo or was there a list posted somewhere?

The moodlets are not influenced by emotions. Something happens that gives the sim a moodlet then the total strength of the moodlets will influence your sims emotions. So, for instance, if your sim has two sad moodlets of +5 each and one inspired moodlet of +20, your sim will feel inspired because that's the strongest moodlet.

Then what did Graham mean by this?

The idea of a “chameleon buff” will be much easier to explain and understand with the game running in front of you. I’ll try and give an overview though. The Happy emotion is special in that it can modify other positive emotions. If your Sim only has a +10 Happy moodlet, then they’re Happy. But if they have a +10 Happy moodlet, and a +5 Playful moodlet, then they’re Playful (even though the Happy moodlet is stronger).

This is because the Happy emotion acts as a boost to any other positive emotions your Sim is feeling. You can see examples of this throughout the demo – the moodlets with the green plus symbols above them are actually Happy moodlets that were modified to boost another positive emotion. What we’ve changed since then was to make the moodlet’s color a gradient, so the background would look like green fading to purple to show happy -> playful. I know that all sounds complicated and confusing – it was overwhelming when it was first explained to me as well. Once you play with it in-game though it feels totally natural and easy to understand.

I would love for someone to explain it to me, because I'm still puzzled by the lower score moodlet being dominant and then the notion of shared dominance that is being countered elsewhere.
