I'm obsessed with huge homes.. well homes in general, but the bigger the better in my opinion. The only problem is, each project after a while gets slightly overwhelming and tedious so I move on to a new one. It's a terrible habit, but regardless, I thought I could share the WIPs with all of you anyway. Hopefully one day I'll have at least one fully completed haha. Also if anyone wants to share their extravagant, luxurious, over the top, or tastefully normal homes on here as well, feel free!
I'll start with a WIP log mansion..Lots of interior and exterior (mainly roofing/landscape)work left to do. There's a great deal of CC since it was the only way to get a realistic cabin look.
Excuse the haphazard lighting inside. That'll all go away eventually..
A neighboring chateau in the distance..
In the process of building a "smaller" modern style French chateau (this is the one pictured above far away). The inside of this place is going to be a bear due to all the CFE.. The rear and roof of the home are still in their haphazard stages of figuring out what to do haha. Also planning on "attaching" a courtyard/garage/guest area on a 50x50 lot right next to the house.
This next home is heavily based off the Stone Mansion located in Alpine, NJ. This is one of my favorite actual homes, besides Biltmore Estate and a few others.
The motorcourt, one of my favorite design features of this home.
I've only just begun the inside so nothing is really decorated..I've been following floor plans of the real home trying to recreate it best as possible, however, due to limitations and wanting to do a few things differently, it's definitely not exact haha
These rooms are in a pretty random order and range from being on the first, second, and basement levels
Foyer:
(^elevator, master bdrm lobby and master bdrm)
(rear foyer)
Family room and breakfast area:
Formal Living Room:
Conservatory/Billiard Room:
Ballroom:
Basement level-
Bar:
Basketball Court:
Wine Cellar:
(LOTS of moo work on this one...here's the pieces used if anyone is curious..)
Garages:
Upper Guest Bdrm plans:
This next house was the first one I ever built. I went slightly crazy with the size of it and at the time, I had little knowledge of how to properly construct things so there's a bunch of amateurish design aspects. It was mainly a learning process throughout the whole thing.. still isn't finished though haha. The house is 3 full stories plus a massive basement, giving the home a total of 103 rooms and leaving it at an unfurnished price of over 1 million. The exterior is pretty typical but I tried to incorporate some interesting interior designs.
Main living room
Main kitchen
Main dining room
Main lounge
Library
2nd floor salon
Master Bdrm lobby
His walk in closet
Her walk in closet
Master Bedroom
These next rooms are all part of the master suite
Master dining
Master bathroom
Entire master suite
Basement level: Indoor pool
Home theater lobby
Theater
Vehicle showroom (underground)
The entire mega-basement floorplan
Looking back, there's quite a few things I'd change about that house, but it would take way too much time to do.. So far, that's about a years worth of houses with long breaks in between haha. In order, they go from newest to oldest. Like I said, if anyone feels like posting their own homes, big or small, feel free! I'll keep the page updated with more additions to these places :-) Hope you enjoy!

Yanti- I know I don't have anything uploaded to my studio yet. It's all still in game at the moment.
Rosemow- thank you for the feedback
Jeremy- I've never uploaded anything to the exchange before so I didn't know if the amount of CC used in some of these would effect that..? I too LOVE old gilded age castles and mansions. I actually have an "American Castles" book sitting next to me. The Breakers, Biltmore, and various other homes of that time are some of my favorite styles of architecture, as well as neoclassical. The Vanderbilts really knew how to live! haha I'd love to see your Gatsby manison! Post it on here if you want
Springfairy- I'm always watching HGTV! Especially when they feature log homes. I take that as a great compliment, thank you!
Anyway, here are some pics of my Gatsby inspired build:

Thank you. All the items in the build are from EPs, SPs or The Sims 3 store. I used a lot of the items from Roaring Heights, the Jazz Age/Regency store sets, and SN EP. If you have a question about a specific item, let me know, and I can tell you where it is from.
I'm looking forward to seeing updates on your chateau style house!
James- Thanks! I saw your reply on your thread about posting more pics of the house, but you found this thread which has all of the pics I've taken of it haha. The house isn't on the exchange, mainly because it was never fully completed. If you want to see more pics of rooms that aren't shown I can post them. The 100+ room mansion was my first attempt at building a house and man was it time consuming! 200 rooms is quite the feat to attempt! :-o I can't wait to see pics of it as you go along or when its done, and by all means post whatever you want here as well!
Jeremy- I'll have to check a few of those out because I really like what you've used there. The furniture (couches especially), pillars and wall patterns are very cool and fit perfectly with the style of Gatsby's mansion. Thanks again! I'll have more pics on the chateau up tomorrow
Jeremy - Your mansion is gorgeous! Must have taken you ages to decorate. So many lovely details. Already recommended.
This is the right side of the home
This is the back of the house, including the WIP hedge gardens and pool
And the left side of the home. This design was drawn from German chateau inspiration rather than the dominant French style of the rest of the house.
Still a bunch of work left to do, and I haven't even started the interior! Hope you enjoy

YellowJane- Thank you Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of roofing so I tend to stick on a quick roofing job than go back and tweak it later haha but I'm glad you like it so far!
I absolutely love the way it looks. Even with the CC, I am very interested in downloading that home.
Any more pics?
