Whenever you get an error like that, or anything else game breaking, the first place to look is your Sims 3 folder. The one that is in the path My Documents\Electronic Arts

Uninstalling your game usually only gives you more problems and wastes a lot of time and doesn't fix anything. Unless something really unusual has happened.

First check if Origin is up to date. I have had a couple of Origin patches over the past few days.

Since you have already uninstalled your games you will need to clean up the current installation. If you have a Windows operating system you will need to uninstall your base game and then clean your registry.

To clean your registry, you can use a registry cleaning tool such as CCleaner, or you can go to the Microsoft Support site and follow their instructions for doing a Clean Reboot of your computer.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once your registry is clean then you can reinstall your Base game.

Then you need to patch the Base game using the cumulative master patch.

If you have a Mac then you need to go to the Mac forum for the Mac version of the cumulative master patch.

Then, if your EPs and SPs are not installed you need to install them in release order (if possible)

After each game is installed, open and see if it works. NOTE: Before opening anything, move your Sims 3 folder out of your My Documents\Electronic Arts folder. Put it on your Desktop or somewhere else that you can find easily. It is probably what is making your launcher crash and you don't want it making your new installation crash while you are trying to install.

    This is release order:
    World Adventures
    High End Loft Stuff
    Ambitions
    Fast Lane Stuff
    Late Night
    Outdoor Living stuff
    Generations
    Town Life Stuff
    Pets
    Master Suite Stuff
    Showtime
    Katy Perry's Sweet Treats
    Diesel Stuff
    Supernatural
    Seasons
    70's 80's 90's Stuff Pack
    University Life
    Island Paradise
    Movie Stuff

Reading the first page of this thread may help you work out what is wrong with your Sims 3 folder.
