YOU NEED TO USE "CONSTRAIN FLOORELEVATION FALSE" FOR THIS PROCESS
I will put in parentheses where (*CFE*) is needed.
Step one Make a foundation, does not matter one size.

http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshotfoundation.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Step 2 Make a wall on top of the foundation like this.
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-10wall.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-10wall.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Step 3 Make another wall on top of the one you just made...
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-15wall2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-15wall2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Step 4 Make a foundation on the side like this, with a wall on top.
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-13wallfound.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-13wallfound.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Step 5 Now you have to get you level tools and flatten the one wall you made like this. (LEVELING TOOL) (*CFE*)
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-16levle.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-16levle.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Step 6 Now after that is leveled you would have to make another wall on top of that. this is what the step before should look like: (TURN *CFE* OFF)
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-17black.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-17black.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
And this is what it should look like with the wall on top of that.
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-18white.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-18white.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Now this is some final steps!Step 7 Add the normal stairs they have in the game and when you get to the second floor, you have to (*CFE*) so just place your stairs where you want them on the second floor make sure you take some carpeting away for the stairs to show (THEN TURN CFE OFF)
[img]<a href="
http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-20inside.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad280/kfq1990/Screenshot-20inside.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>[/img]
Then cut some more carpet out where you want your sunken room and you are finished. And don't forget to put the stairs down so your Sims can get to them.
YOUR FINAL SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS FROM THE OUT SIDE.

Comments Welcome.
Well Done.

I noticed that as well. I think it's because if you made the column that you're using CFE to level the second story with it should be taller than the first floor, not the same height. Unless I missed something...
Anyways, thanks for the tutorial kquinn! I'm excited to try this with my next build!
Hi there, you can use a foundation or no foundation. i started it without then i deleted it and put a foundation(and i must of used the pictures without it). the only difference is you dont get stairs for the front entrance if you want them.
