'Own the Store' Breakdown [with Downloads Links] Updated Aug 7 '14

Own the store? I hope that if you need to ever re-downlaod this 126 Downloads List (with set overlap with compilations because all Compilations are listed) or 135 (Less Overlap option with a bit more downloads), there should be no other set overlap though, could help. Besides the CAS items that do not belong to a set. This should be the whole store World/Venue/Compilation/Set/PC wise.

I spent 5 hours re-downloading the store once and that was months ago (I have way more stuff since), it took me 5 hours and I was still missing items. With this new feature I am taken advantage and may just own the store eventually for easier downloading. And may re-download the most content with the least overlap and least amount of single items. So I decided to make this list, and I thought I'd share.

I spent hours working on breaking down the lists today, so I have not yet figured out which compilations can be removed cause other compilation combos already have the same sets. Feel free to advise me if you know or if I have made any errors. Here is the full list of items not in any sets (CAS with 2 PC items but I have these 2 PC on my list) here: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/591802.page (not it does not include free single items)

Here is my excel doc as reference: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aho89zgRHOa9dFFscUhFdGJQWDhad0JBbmUyVk9JWEE&usp=sharing [Re-Uploaded 21/07/13]

Hi Hollowness. Here's the link to the spreadsheet I created:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvxnD-aW5W1OdDQ0SDBOdzR5YjhxdzdtVHNNY0FlSFE&usp=sharing

I have listed all individual items currently available in the store, some promotional items, freebies, etc. It's still a work in progress and I will add those items when I find them. If any mistakes are found, please let me know and I fill fix them ASAP.

Happy Simming!! :D

Note: This does not take into account Compilations/Sets that are not yet apart of the Complete set feature (I hope they will be soon, so this list can be a one stop download stop for those who own the or almost own the store).

I like excel and doing spreadsheets and cross referencing ;) My job skills are admin-clerical, data entry and data maintenance and I once in a while go nuts on a project (I have 20k edits across 2 gaming wikis and lots are tables/data :P) Blamed-err thank my OCD and insanity :P

I never realized how much store content I actually own until I began re-organizing my files. This thread just confirms that I really need to stop spending so much money here. x.x

Great job! Though there are a few compilations that have a lot of overlay with others. For example Best of 2010 Collection has A LOT of Ultra Lounge 2010 sets. Would it be better to download one of two of those compilations and then download the missing sets from the other or just say "who cares!?" and download both compilations with a lot of overlay?

Yes, that is why I mentioned there is overlay, I didn't get to that yet, brain was fried after 5 hours of this :P
I spent hours working on breaking down the lists today, so I have not yet figured out which compilations can be removed cause other compilation combos already have the same sets.

I plan to have the compilation overlay sorted (as best I can) when I wake up or in the next little while. My goal is as much content without missing anything with the least amount of downloads.

The goal is least amount of sets downloaded to down load the store (as a time saver for those who own the store or almost own the store) with all the compilations in the end would you rather 200+ downloads with no over lay or 127 or less with some? When re-downloading the store I can tell you what I would choose.

Once I own the store (I think I am about 70%+) I plan to run down this list and re-download cause currently my overlay is x10 worse that this list X / and then back up on a UBS key.

Ahh ok, that makes sense! Good luck figuring all of this out. I'm sure this will be VERY useful to those who do own the store. Only in my dreams will I ever amass that much content. :P

X / and then back up on a UBS key.

Oh gosh, this is such complicated stuff!

Trouble with me is, there are things in sets/compilations that I don't want in my game so I have to have some full sets installed and some partial sets. I obviously make it much worse for myself doing it this way, but there are just some things I can't stand seeing in my game and it really bugs me if they are there!

But I am thinking of doing an overhaul of my back-up stuff so this thread will be very helpful, thank you.

Edit: Oh yeah, and for people who hate making collection files for them all - perhaps this link would be useful: http://aznsensei.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/store-collection-files.html

Yes, that is why I left the link to the spreadsheet as a reference, you should be able to CTRL find every set and if it is apart of a compilation you don't want- you know you have to download on it's own. :D

    But OMG do the single items not drive you nuts! mine do cause I have soo many sets I have bought or was gifted piece by piece o.O;

The whole thing is driving me nuts at the moment lol. I had a great downloading spree with the 'complete your set' feature but now it's confused me with what I already have installed.

I did install all the compilations, but then when I went into the game there were a number of items that I instantly thought - yuk, that has GOT to go! So now I am probably stuck with starting the whole thing from scratch...

I wish launcher was more helpful, if the launcher could sort by set/compilations and then you can add/remove single items there, or by item and delete duplicates *sigh* that be great

I have few single items but oh my goodness do they ever. I think what is bothering me the most is I am able to foresee how much of a pain in my butt they will be if I ever do get the complete set. I'd have to reinstall everything. :/ It just reeeally bothers me.

It is kind of sad that simmers need to sort this out rather than EA figuring out some kind of software or app that can kind of combine all of your content into one downloadable file that you can install. Is that too crazy? Has it been done? Is it compatible with Macs? So many questions! ._.

 you kidding! I was asking if someone was going to do this  cause I knew I had to have it, in one form or another :P

Anyways, I probably should go to bed, I'll sort out more kinks when I wake up like 'Up the Ante' I believe can be replaced with 'Double Down Poker and Roulette Bundle' since 'The Lucky Simoleon Casino' is in Lucky Palms Gold. You still get all the content but without having the venue downloaded twice :P

    Night guys ;D

There's one problem I haven't solved yet, regarding reinstalling things. Like you said, I want to keep the number of sets/items to a minimum by not installing duplicates. But a good part of my purchase history is individual items (hundreds if not more). For furniture, I can sort of tell what set they belong to, although when it gets to the plethora of lights and small decor items it's a bit harder. Clothes, though, I have a hard time telling.

I'm not sure how to check, in a time-efficient manner, what sets certain individual items belong to. Looking them up individually in the Store is obviously one way, but I just don't have the time for it at the moment.

You should use Crin's S3S Browser. She has every store item (up to Nautical Living, I think). This includes compilations, sets and items. Plus all registration, free, Sim bundle, and special sets (like JCPenny, Toyota).

It's how I organized my folders. It tells me the cost of each item, what I have and don't have, how much I should pay to finish a set, and whether an item is part of a set or compilation. It also does it for sets. It has the name of each simpack so you can go looking for it in your folders, and if there is a link to the item, she's put that there to!

I don't see Beach Bummin' on your list. I was wondering if it was a part of any larger sets?

Are you missing everything from the "Sun, Surf, & Sand Category"? Includes:
    Beach Bummin'
Sun, Surf & Sand (Swim + Sleep) -- includes subsets Sun, Surf & Sand (Sleep) and Life's A Beach (Swim)
Island Villa -- already represented in your list as a part of the Island Escape Compilation

I believe I have sorted out the least amount of overlap without missing without too many singles and sets.

Least amount of Download count 126.

But I highly recommend this the less of an overlap while trying to keep least amount of Download option 135.

Hi Hollowness...I just noticed your status after I posted mine.

I created a spreadsheet that actually lists all store items individually including what compilations, sets, venues and worlds they're associated with or not. The list has 3 tabs...CAS, Buy & Build. If you would like, I wouldn't mind helping you with your one-stop-shop and you can post the link in your thread instead of posting a separate one myself.

    Let me know.
