I've decided to create a new challenge for TS3, since I wanted to try something new!
This is my first time creating a Legacy/Challenge, so please, give me some feedback, and ask questions so I can improve this Legacy!
And have fun playing this!
There is a Challenge version of this Legacy, with new rules and objectives!
The Supernatural Challenge: The Occult Dominancy Challenge (Supernatural NOT Required!)
If you want to check out any of my other Legacies, try out one of these Legacies!
The Mansionacy: A Never-Ending House! The Perfecionacy: Building Perfect SimsIf you want to share your Occult Sims for others to play with, share your Sims on this thread!
Also, share the story of your Dominancy as you play this Legacy!
So, basically, here is how the Occult Dominancy works:
(
NOTE: This challenge will work better if you have more Expansion Packs installed, although it is still playable with the Base Game alone!)
The point of this "Legacy" Challenge is to become the dominant species in a world full of occults before you reach a certain number of generations. In addition to having lots of monster babies, this also means "eliminating" the rest of the species of occults in a world, which is required if you choose to start with a normal Sim.
Latest Update: July 22, 2012
•Added a link to The Supernatural Challenge: The Occult Dominancy Challenge!

General Rules
You cannot use cheats to gain an unfair advantage, including:
-Going into Build/Buy Mode on another Sim's lot or a community lot.
-Deleting/killing another Sim/creature.
-Increasing your motives.
-Increasing or decreasing your relationship with another Sim/Pet
-Increasing your Household funds or individual funds.
You
are allowed to start in any world that you want, Player-made or EA-made! Keep in mind that the selection of the world you play in will more than likely affect the outcome of your Legacy!
You
are not allowed to use Mods,
unless they are necessary for you to be able to have the game be playable!
You
are not allowed to adopt a child or Pet in the Founding Generation until the Founding Generation Requirements have been met!
Unless you cannot play the game with it on, Story Progression
must be on!
Aging
must be
on. The Lifespan can be set to anything you want, or customized any way you want, but keep in mind that the lifespan will affect how you must play this Legacy!
Lifetime Rewards are allowed, even if they help to make your species dominant or more endangered/extinct.
The Founding Generation
First, to start, you will need a Sim of any species! Also, keep in mind that
the Founding Generation can only have 1 Pet of any species to start!
You can use ANY Sim, whether from CAS, pre-made into the world, or downloaded from the exchange!
CC is allowed, HOWEVER, you may
NOT use CC or Mods that change the form of your Sims' appearance, such as Fairy Wings, or a Mod that turns Sims into Centaurs!
Like the original Legacy Challenge,
you can only start out with 1 Sim in your Household, and
you are not allowed to switch the active household at all during this legacy challenge -
Unless - You plan on playing the Legacy as another species! You may
not switch households to gain an advantage in another species' household!
You can only use
one household per. species while playing! You can have more than one household of the same species,
but the lot that you move the first species into must be the same lot that you use for that species for the rest of the game!
In addition, the starting lot must be
the largest empty lot that you can find, preferably about 64x64! If no lots can be found, put in your own 64X64 lot! If there's no room, just go with the biggest empty lot you can find.
(Challenge Tip: Starting out as a normal Sim has more options, as you are allowed to turn your Sim into an Occult, plus you are able to choose any combinations of Occults! That is-if you know how to make an occult Hybrid!)How to Play: Universal Gameplay Instructions
These instructions are
required for every game, no matter the Founding Species unless your Founding Species is exempted from said instruction!1) Populating the World
Before you begin playing, you must decide which way you want to play:
Either you desire to play by turning your Founding Sim into another Species, or adopting a Unicorn, and building on from there! (Recommended for Base Game-only players or those who dislike populating worlds)
-
OR-
Have at least 2+ Sims/Creatures of another species than you, of different households, in the world!
2) Founding Generation Requirements
You can now begin playing. But first, if you are playing by changing your Founding Sim into another Species or by adopting a Unicorn to begin your Legacy, you must do that prior to having another Generation!
Also, prior to making the second Generation, you must also marry your Sim to the Sim that you plan on having another Generation with! (If you plan on having a SimBot - dominated world, marry the Sim you plan to make a SimBot with or use the My Best Friend! LTR with.)
3) Descendant Generations' Requirements
For each Generation after the Founder, at least one Sim of each Generation must do the following prior to death/moving:
They must create/turn/adopt/make at least 1+ Sims of the current household's species!
-
OR-
They must "eliminate" at least 2 Sims of another species - as explained later!
In addition,
if you have a child that is not a part of the desired species, then this Sim may be raised until death, but will not earn any Points that fall under the
Dominancy Category. Generations created by these Sims may not earn any points whatsoever.
However, you may move this Sim into a new Household or out on their own if you wish, and as soon as they leave the previous Household they may begin earning Points. No Points are earned for actions completed before moving.
If you wish not to raise them, they may be moved into another Household that matches their Species in the world.
4) New Species in a Household
You are allowed to change the species of a Generation's Sim, but you must follow these rules if you do!
-If you have a Hybrid Occult, you are allowed to keep them in your Household as long as they have the DNA of the Species that their parents/creators are made of - meaning they behave or look like that species. Hybrid parents may have Generations with at least 1 DNA of their Hybrid combination.
Sims that do not meet this requirement must be treated as Sims that are not born into the targeted Species.
-If you want to have a Sim that starts Generations of a new Species, first have a Sim of the desired Species. As soon as another Generation of that Species joins the Household, all of these Sims
must be moved out to another lot than the current Species.
Failing the Occult Dominancy Legacy
There are a couple ways to fail the Occult Dominancy Legacy. Feel free to continue playing the Dominancy after this, but keep in mind that
if you fail, the only Points that may be earned are Legacy Points. No Dominancy Points may be earned after this point!
(
NOTE: If you fail the Dominancy in one Household, the entire save game and all of the families in the world also fail!)
Fail by Extinction
Fail by Extinction basically means that the Active Household loses all of its members.
If you have another Household of the same Species, you still may not play them to avoid Extinction.
Other Households may become Extinct without penalty, but if you accidentally "Eliminate" your entire
Active Household, the entire Legacy Challenge stops for the entire Save Game.
Fail by Lack of Heirs
The Dominancy must be played with Aging on.
If you cannot create a new Generation before the youngest Generation entirely reaches the
Elder Age, then you will fail the Dominancy.
Fail by Generational Regression
This failure means that you have not completed the Dominancy
before the 10th Generation dies or has an 11th Generation!
Generations that are made because of Story Progression do not count.
Completing the Occult Dominancy Legacy
The Occult Dominancy Legacy is completed when the Species active Household makes up about 50% or more of the town.
(You don't have to count - just guesstimate.)
You must reach this goal before 10 Generation makes a new Generation or dies, or the Dominancy will end!
Once the Occult Dominancy Legacy has been "completed," you can choose to either keep playing the Dominancy for more Points, or you could just continue to play out your own Occult Battle!
If you wish to continue playing for points, no more Legacy Points may be earned if 10 Generations has not been reached. The only Points earned after completing the challenge are Dominancy Points.
Earning Points
There are several ways to earn "Points." Remember, Points are only additive for a single Household - meaning each household has a separate total Point count. Here are the ways that you can earn them:
(
Note:
NO points are earned for any objectives completed by the Founding Generation, with the exception of a 1 Point Maximum for creating another Generation or adopting a Unicorn.)
Legacy PointsA New Generation (+1 Point [1 Pt. Max Per. Gen])
You will earn Points by simply making another Generation. Only 1 Sim can make a new Generation. Additional Sims of the same Generation do not count for Points. If you must,
you may move out/release older Generations to make room for a new one.
If the 10th Generation does not complete the Dominancy, then the Dominancy will end!Fulfilling a New Lifetime Wish (+2 Points)
Every time a new Lifetime Wish that
has not been previously achieved in the current Household is completed, 2 Points are earned for that Household. Any amount of Sims, and Sims of the same Generation, can each earn points.
Portraits (+1 Point)
Similar to the original Legacy Challenge, but not quite the same.
If you make a portrait of a Sim before their death you will earn 1 Point, but they change their Species after the portrait is made, a new portrait must be made to match the current Species prior to death or no points are Earned.
If a portrait of a Ghost Sim is made, and no Portrait was made prior to death, then the Sim must be resurrected to earn Points.
However, if that same Sim is turned into a playable ghost again, then the Portrait Point will be lost.
Net Worth (+1 Point Per. $50,000)
For every $50,000 in Net Worth (with furniture) that the Household's lot is worth, +1 Point is earned. If the value of the lot decreases a $50,000 mark,
-1 Point is taken away.
Dominancy PointsPopulation (+2 Point Per. Eligible Sim)
Every time that a Sim of the Household Species is born/created/adopted (Unicorns only!), +1 Point is earned. Multiple Sims in a single Generation may earn a Point for this.
The "My Best Friend!" Lifetime Reward will earn you Points.
If a Sim is born of a Species that is not targeted for the Household, no Points are earned, even if that Sim is turned into the desired Species.
Evolution (Points Will Vary)
Evolution is basically creating Hybrid Sims. This is a very tricky process!
More information about what Hybrid Sims are, and how to make them,
can be found here.
You will earn different amounts of Points, depending on how many Occults are in a single Hybrid combination.
Points will be earned for a single Hybrid, only if, and as soon as the Hybrid makes/creates/adopts a child or new Generation, which includes using the "My Best Friend!" LTR, or freeing a Genie.
(
Note: Mods that change Sim Species may not be used to earn Points for this!)
Hybrid-Combination Points Chart (1 Point Max Per. Sim)
2-Combo.....+1 Points
3-Combo.....+2 Points
4-Combo.....+4 Points
5-Combo.....+5 Points
6-Combo.....+7 Points
Elimination (Points May Vary)
Points are earned for "Eliminating" Sims of another Species! This means that you do something that will cause a Sim of another household to die, or become another Species than what they already are.
Eliminations made that are not listed on the Bonus list will earn you +2 Points!
Accidental Elimination of your own Species will take -3 Points away per Sim!
There are several ways that you are allowed to do this, depending on the Species you're Eliminating. You may find any way to Eliminate another Sim!
If you Eliminate a Sim using a method as listed below, you will earn bonus points as apposed to another way! Remember, though, there are more ways to Eliminate a Sim!
You can do all sorts of other things, such as simply "Turning" another Sim into a Vampire, having a Unicorn start a fire on a Sim, having friends sleep in Cursed Sarcophagi, giving Ghosts Ambrosia, having a SimBot cause other Sims to be electrocuted, and more!
Points are earned only after the "Eliminated" Sim has died or turned into another Species.Bonus Elimination Methods (All Methods Earn +10 Points|Accidental Bonus Eliminations -12 Points)Meteor Method
Purposefully lure a meteor into a Sim of another Species!
(In order to earn points for this, you must be actually trying to get this method to happen - it cannot just be result of a random event.)
Igniting Method
Have a Unicorn make a Sim die by Fire!
Possessing Method
Have a Sim Starve to Death while being Ensorcelled.
Caged Method
Place Sims of another Species into a "caged" area that they cannot escape from!
(In order to earn points for this, the "cage" must have no doors whatsoever, before or after the Sims are caged, and cannot be built around a visitor on the lot.)
Klepto Method
Have a Sim steal all of the essential living objects from another Sim's house!
Pyro Method
Have a Sim make another Species die by fire without using any objects or Pets!
Domination (+25 Points)
As soon as the Active Household makes up completely 100% of the world's population (excluding NPC Townies that cannot be changed or killed at all), you will earn +25 Points for Dominating the World!
Dominating Travel Locations will earn you +20 Points each. Dominating a Travel Location will not complete the legacy.
