Yes, I joined the worlds competition, and yes I have worked on my world. I have my basic terrain layouts and I want to take a snapshot of the world in game just bare terrain, but when I get to the edit in game loading screen (The very first one, right when you start) it freezes and I do ctrl-alt-delete and it says that sims 3 edit in game is not responding. I have the disk in and everything, but I don't know how I could fix this problem. Lets hope I can soon, my competition world depends on it.
It will act like it is not responding especially if you have a lot of custom content. Just leave it alone and it will load. To make it load faster go into electronic arts/sims3/ and move your DCCache to your desktop.
You need to be VERY patient when starting up EIG mode.
Like hit the button and go watch TV, grab a cup of coffee blahblahblah while you wait for it to load. (Can take up round 6min for it to load for me). During this time Winblows does at times try to tell me TS3 is not responding.
[note] If your mouse cursor still moves, your system is still working on loading EIG.
mine doesnt work either its really annoying when ever i click on edit in game it goes to a black screen and then about 5 mins later it goes to the sims 3 world adventures(thats the one I have) and then it loads to about 20% then nothing else its so annoying
For the umpteenth time, this is the protocol to follow (this question gets asked at least once a day and is easily found using the Search:
(Make sure you build Routing Data first.)
#1. Remove ALL .package files.
#2. Remove the DCCache file.
#3. Try entering EIG.
It SHOULD load in under ten minutes.
If it hasn't loaded within a half hour, ctrl-alt-delete to close the application and shut your computer off and let it sit for two minutes then restart.
Now reload your world in C-A-W and start checking your road network for:
#1. Make sure all roads are connected.
#2. Make sure the end of each road has an intersection.
#3. Make sure there are no roads under the edges of lots.
#4. Make sure there are no sidewalks over your roads.
#5. Make sure there are no roads stacked on top of each other (it is way too easy to accidentally stack roads).
A good way to check for stacked roads is to select a piece of road and delete it. If there's no other road piece under it, hit the undo button and go to the next section.

ok well i am trying to those things but i have a wierd problem. I KNOW my world was loading EIG a few days ago but now i try run those versions it will not load.
Has anyone come across this before. Or have a clue why now all of a sudden it doesnt like EIG/loading up?
It gets about a third the way through the world load (after the sims load) and then freezes for a bit then exits out/crashes.
ALso :It says 'remove all the package files.
Does that include all theEA ones inside the Sims folder?

Oh, btw, if anyone was wondering, you don't need the disk in to EIG. At least you shouldn't. I don't. I made a special folder on my desktop where I put DCCache when I'm not using it. It has a shortcut to where DCCache goes back to, as well.
Well, when i click edit in game on mine, it just popps up with the sims 3 launcher. and it used to work fine for over a year. i've updated it and everything, someone help? :!:

I don't have a problem and can run EIG with the .package files in my game.
