Just bought a brand spanking new quad core computer a few months ago and upgraded the graphics card. I busted my other one trying to install a new CPU fan. Should have had a tech do it. I didn't realize how hard that would be. I think I overheated it playing Sims too long on a graphics card not powerful enough. I still have to use Twallans Overwatch and MasterController Mods so things don't get laggy and I can reset the town on occasion. Plus they do all kinds of other awesome things. But for this legacy I am only using the ones that don't give me an advantage, but allow me to keep my game running smoothly.

So - I just installed SN. I will probably turn off the zombies since they can just pop up anywhere which is crazy because the zombies are supposed to be everywhere! :-o

Mikitta is updating for SN!!! I just checked the Wiki site and she is working on it. Obviously she has to test it first but here is a link to the site if you want to follow:

    http://s3ac.wikia.com/wiki/The_Apocalypse_Challenge

I read she will require full moons every night. Yikes! A true zombie overrun Apocalypse (if you have SN). :-o

So sorry to hear that. :-( I was looking forward to more installments of your story. I had the same thing happen and wound up with a new computer. But at least I got one that could handle Sims with ease, my old one was a bit laggy so sometimes game play was a bit frustrating.

Next Chapter is up...Kind of a setup chapter for the next one. Generation 5 is born in this one. I tried to make this one shorter but it is still 65 pages. Ugh. It would have been even longer but I am making it a two-parter. There was just too much going on. I also used more screenshots so I didn't have to write so much on each page.

Audrey, three cheers for the growing family! And ceeluvscouture, I'm so sorry to hear about your computer; I would have loved to read more of your story.

For anyone who's looking for something retro and old school, I've finished my story, played with base game only, old rules and pre-CAW. Finished the challenge ages ago in 269 Sim days, but between drama in my other life and distraction due to expansion packs, it's taken this long to finish the story.

    You can find it at:

Thanks - I just spent time reading your story. Very cute. I love the Grimmy angle. Really funny. I just found out I have been severly limiting myself in this game. Any of the blood line can clear restrictions! I thought it was only the one heir that was going to continue the blood line and the 'spares' were there "just in case"! I could have been finished a month ago! Oh well, so off to play and try to speed through some of these remaining restrictions with lots of children!

Thanks Audrey! I interpret the new rules as spares can clear restrictions but not spouses of spares, while in the old rules, spouses and children of spares could lift restrictions. I admire your patience thus far lifting restrictions one generation at a time!

After a very very long break from the challenge, I am back. And redoing my last attempt which I irreversibly lost when my old computer's hard drive died on me.

Here's the main page for the attempt:

Hey guys I just found this a while back and thought it sounded like fun. I just started mine a few days ago. I wrote my founder (Archer Morgan) a back story to make things fun. I am kinda new to the forum kinda not. I have been a lurker mostly. But anywho I posted a link in the story section if anyone is interested. :)

I think this is by far the ultimate Sim challenge! I can't wait to try it! But to make things more interesting I think I'm going to delete all of the other existing households. Lots of people were killed right? This makes things more desolate and end-of-the-worldish. That way the townies are all that are left. I kinda see them as drifters and survivors...

And I think that instead of befriending a ghost for the Ghostly Encounter restriction I will make it that a Sim has to reach level 10 of the Ghost Hunter profession. It just makes more sense with the whole idea that the Grim Reaper is over worked.

    So excited to try this!

Nicnacks - try the full version of The Apocalpyse Challenge. It's updated to Seasons.

    http://ts3ac.wikispaces.com/TS3AC

The rules are a bit more harsh than Ashleigh's are.

And there are 3 different ways to actually clear the paranormal restrictions :D

You can join in the discussion here ... https://www.facebook.com/groups/169191289823753/

And get fast answers to questions.

We are in tournament season, so there is plenty of time to participate in that :D

There are too many rules to follow. It would be great if there could be a mod which enforces this rules. Tell me if there's any. :)

I'm sure someone has asked this, but for the Cooker restriction, can a Sim have more than one quick meal per day?

You're going to think I'm insane...
It's currently 2am and I first checked this challenge out at 11pm or maybe 11:30pm, last night. I read through it all twice and read all the comments and a few blogs on this. I obviously have no life. Sleeping is boring though! :D

I am sooo incredibly excited to start it tomorrow, or today, morning! I've already sort of mentally planned it. I've only recently discovered all these Epic challenges. I guess I know what I'll be doing all day. When I should be studying for 5 exams and doing 3 school projects... No, Sims 3 is WAY more important! ... :?

So far, everything is going well for me. Except my new husband (who my founder met, flirted, became girlfriend with, proposed and got married to all within a day)doesn't have the inappropriate trait like my founder so he has to wash his hands for 3 hours every day...

Also my founder just had a baby so she's been home for a week and a bit so she now completely stir crazy! O.o

I believe new people have taken over the updating of this challenge since I went on a very long hiatus due to school and stress.

I wouldn't mind updating this challenge if I do get the time, though. :)

Ashleigh, we would love to have you come help us update TS3AC. It's too big for one person to do the entire thing!

    http://ts3ac.wikispaces.com/Home for the Challenge rules

    and

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/169191289823753/ for the discussions.

Of course if you want to keep your own version, that's cool - and I'll link it on the Wikispaces :)

WOW - just stumbled across this one :)

I think I may start with Ashleigh825 version and get my feet wet so to speak....not to mention I like to have the "rules" on paper and the TS3AC was 95 pages to print

Trying to decide which restriction to lift first...military, medical, evil, business???

Well guess I need a house first...just purchased lunar lakes so that seems a good place to begin!
