Opinions Please: What to Buy, What to Buy...

I'm finally caving. I really want some of the stuff from the store (even though most of it IS grossly overpriced...). So I plan on buying a 5000 SimPoint bundle...and I have no idea what exactly I should spend the points on. I don't want to waste my money. Can you guys give me your opinions on what premium content is worth buying? I've always had my eyes on the Warbling Wind Chimes; I'm interested in the tablet; and I really want the deep fryer, the ice cream maker and the chocolate fountain. But again, I only want to buy these things it they're worth the outrageous price.

As for the worlds, I'm considering buying either Lucky Palms, Sunlit Tides, Monte Vista, or Aurora Skies.

I purely like the extra venue with Lucky Palms. I'm not crazy about deserts.

Sunlit Tides looks gorgeous, but should I even bother buying it with Island Paradise coming out soon? And I want the extra venue, but yikes. 20 extra dollars...? That's hard to justify.

Monte Vista...it looks pretty but impractical.

And Aurora Skies seems pretty cheap, but I really want those toddler items.

I would really appreciate some thoughts on what you guys think is worth buying! Thanks in advance!

well if you can wait long enough the venue with the toddler item will go on sale but no idea on long that will be

sunlit tides is beautiful there are some lag issues with sunlit tides but fellow simmers found most of the issues and how to correct them there is a thread somewhere here on the store forum about it and lucky palms is worth it you could check out reviews by thelazygamer and TheQuxxn they are on youtube

    Hi, KitKat :)

I have the warbling wind chimes and I love them, in real life and in the Sims. I use them on almost every one of my home lots. If you like real wind chimes then I think you would like this.

I just recently purchased the tablet for myself and I like it a lot. Multi-tasking at it's finest.

I don't have the fryer, ice cream maker or chocolate fountain. I was temepted to get the ice cream maker until I read all the posts about Sims being obsessed with these objects. But there is a mod to fix that issue, I believe. Don't know if EA has fixed these issues or not (they may have by now)?

I didn't buy Sunlit Tides so I can't comment on that but from what I've seen and read, it does look beautiful. I bought just the Serenity Spa Retreat venue by itself when it came out.

I bought Lucky Palms mostly for the objects and haven't played much in this world. I like it, but find myself always going back to Sunset Valley.

I can't comment on the other worlds as I don't have them, either. Oddly, I didn't get Monte Vista (though I did pick up the farmer's market) even though I am in love with Italy.

Sorry I wasn't much help but my only advice to you would be to not let those simpoints burn a hole in your pocket: spend wisely. You might be able to get some things you've been wanting on sale or as a daily discount item or even through an in-game sale.

The wind chimes are great, but really add nothing more than a sound effect. I HIGHLY recommend getting the tablet - you can build two skills at the same time and your teens have fun doing their homework! As for Worlds I have ST and LP and enjoy them both, but Lucky Palms just seems to have a a better feel to it, and the layout is great.

So my rec's from your list above is wait for a sale to get the Wind Chimes, but definitely grab the tablet and Lucky Palms! Or hang to those 5000 points for a few weeks and see if the have a "March Madness" sale in The Store - you may be able to get twice as many items!

You should really wait until March Madness to purchase simpoints. There could possibly be a simpoint sale then. I definitely wouldn't want to buy anything right now or soon to see if there will be a March Madness this year.

Of those options, definitely the multitab. I use the wind chimes all the time too but not really useful just nice. I don't use the fryer ice cream maker or chocolate fountain very often and I can live without them.

As far as worlds go, Lucky Palms is gorgeous and so is Sunlit Tides and I think it may actually complement Island Paradise with the cool rabbit holes. I haven't played Aurora Skies yet but the toddler content looks awesome and I know I'll use it with every family at some point. Also the new roofs are nice and there's a lot of other new content. Monte Vista is ok but haven't played it extensively yet.

So I would say Multitab for sure. It's just amazing. Look in the store under each world's content list and see what you like and yeah watch some you tube reviews.

Lucky Palms is my favorite world and I keep going back to this one. I grew up in Phoenix, so it suits me and I love that I can place as many lots as I like since the place is pretty much flat. The casino was fun but I wouldn't say that it's the best part of the world. You can buy the PC for 500sp each now as a way to save points. I enjoy the wishing well from LP.

I bought MV in a retail store. I'm not sure where you're located but it was a fraction of the price to buy it retail. I think I paid $7.50 or maybe $10. I think that they'll have it on sale fairly cheap when you buy University (releasing in a couple of weeks.)

The fryer and icecream maker are okay. They're great if you don't have anything to make food on public lots. If you don't have Seasons or World Adventures or Monte Vista etc. then it's very convenient to put a fryer or ice cream machine on a public lot for sims to eat. The set that they're included in IS on the sale page right now, so that might not be such a bad deal.

I have a couple of things that I want but I'm not seeing anything stellar with the sales page and this rotation of daily deals seems... sluggish. I really hope that it will mean that there is a March Madness sale. Especially since there wasn't anything at the end of the year.

I don't have those premium items so I cannot really comment on them, but personally I think Lucky Palms is the best world from the store, I wasn't too keen on the desert idea at first either but trust me, it's beautiful! Overall it has wonderful architecture, beautiful views and the premium content is quite cool (although I don't have the gold version so I can't comment on the casino venue). I think that it is good value for money :-)

Of the worlds, I would get Monte Vista. It's a GREAT world. I put my legacy family at the bottom of the mountain on a 64X64 lot. A lot of things they typically NEED are down the mountain like the grocery store and school. You can delete some of the houses and fishing lots across the river and add more of the EP lots across there. I've been able to install all of the EP lots I wanted and really enjoy the layout. I thought it would be impractical too, but I have not found that to be the case. it is a great world for a historical world and I've also enjoyed riding my horse around it. The rabbit holes are also very different, and I like that.

For content, if you like toddler items, have you looked at the Lullabye set? It has a baby changing table and baby monitor that I really like and it's not quite as steep as buying Aurora Skies gold. It's my favorite PC. Also there's the baby swing. It's currently on sale.

    The multitab is worth it.

The other premium content I really like is the harvest stands that include the new lemon trees and eggplants, BUT I'd recommend saving your points and waiting until those are available for individual sale. I like the market venue, but it's pretty expensive and this will eventually probably be available for individual sale if you wait.

Multitab is awesome. Also, if skill building is your thing, the Tree of Prosperity is cool and underappreciated, I think. The only problem with it is that it feels out of place on most lots.

I've been going back and forth between LP and AS myself, but I think I'm going to get LP first, even though the baby jail in AS looks awesome.

Monte Vista + Palace Set + University "Party Pack" masks = Masquerade Ball!

Free Mardi Gras set + University "Party Pack" = Fat Tuesday!

One of my favorite items in the store is the multitab. Everyone of my sims has this item.

As for worlds, I don't have MV or AS but Sunlit Tides and Lucky Palms are beautiful worlds. However Sunlit Tides lags and freezes in my game so I don't play it ( which is a bummer). When buying from the store I try to get things that I know I am going to use so I don't waste any money.

The deep fryer and chocolate fountain are cool objects to have especially it you are throwing party. I like the wind chimes but rarely use them.

    Hope this helps. :D

I have Monte Vista but due to computer problems haven't had a chance to play it yet. I have seen some of the items from it while building homes on my slower PC and they're great. Though, as chasingAJ said, getting it retail much cheaper is a better option. Mine was a Christmas gift.

I have never been a fan of deserts, in real life or gaming. However, Lucky Palms has swayed me from many pictures I've seen and I will eventually be purchasing the standard version. It's really quite lovely and there is a save file on tumblr that converts it to a retro 50's style world which is gorgeous!

As for the multi-tab, it really depends on your style of gameplay. I like my game to be harder so being able to double skill or skill while working and all the ways the multi-tab makes sims' lives easier is opposite of my play style. I consider it a little too "cheaty" for me and don't use it too much.
