MMORPG for the Sims

So I've always wanted to be able to play the Sims live with other players around the world, Sort of like World of Warcraft but even better.
I definitely think they should update the Sims to be an MMORPG  :!:

It seems like with each expiation they get closer and closer to that. I rember when I was little and they had the sims online I wanted to play it so bad but I had no way to pay for it each month and my computer at the time couldn't run it. Though I did get to play it before the sims online went off.

The Sims Online didn't succeed, I don't know that they will try again. After all, most simmers play the game by themselves and don't really want to play with others. I think that is why the game failed. Without enough subscribers, they would lose money.

    No friends requests, please.

The Sims Online also had many bugs.. and we know how that goes around here. A lot of people like to use the cheat codes while playing sims, and that didn't go over too well with the sims online. It's a big issue for Blizzard trying to get rid of Chinese gold farmers, script kiddies, etc. EA probably wouldn't want that burden.

I like that we can post to here from the game, and I like sending gifts to other players, but I wouldn't want to be completely connected. I want to play by myself...I have social networks for interaction.

WoW is the only game that I play that is an mmo/mmorpg game. I won't buy the sims if they went in that direction. With mmo games you cannot age up, get married or have a family, it would be just like the Sims Social on FB. Plus you would be asking for your friends/family who play for help to do things in yoou world. It would be too much of a questing game and it won't be they way it is now. You wouldn't be able to build your own buildings. I do believe this is the reason that EA made the Sims Social and The Sims Freeplay is for people who want to be able to play with their friends and family.

Sims started out as a single player game and should remain as such. Not everybody is interested in having others in their world. Not everybody who has the ST ep uses the simport in their game because some of them don't want to sign in when starting their game.

If EA was to make a sims mmo/mmorpg game it should be a stand-alone game and not as an option to play on/off line. No Thanks...

I agree with this. And if they did turn it into an MMORPG, it should be an optional feature. Plus you couldn't have kids because nobody would play them unless there was an option to be a baby at the beginning on the start screen. But who would want to be a motionless infant that does nothing?

I think the problem with a Sims MMO is that, with no other goal except to live life, all anyone is going to want to do is WooHoo with each other.

Or maybe that's just me... >.>

What if they just let you invite sims from people on your friends list to party's in your game like how now you can invite sims to your town to proform in showtime. But they just come hang out at your party. Something simple like that. I use to play the sims with my best friend her on my desktop me on my laptop we always wish their was a way to go to each others houses for party's and junk. I think the game could have a setting were you could allow people to come to your town and when that mode is on cheats turn off and mods turn off. If you want them back turn off that mode and you can cheat and mod all you want.

Though I don't think this is something they can just patchin to the game it wills have to do this in a whole new game like the sims4. (I can hope).

I'm quite new to the connecting with people as it is right now for the Sims, I find it's difficult to get to know people and become 'friends' with them (sending/receiving requests from people you don't know makes some uneasy)

I think if it was an MMO it would just go very very wrong and EA would lose money (Not that it would effect their actual business) :(

I have the same idea. I think it be cool if you could go from your sims into a friends.

If you see your friend is playing then you can go into their game and interact with their sims. Its a cool idea.

Yeah I think is a good compromise then EA dosent have to lose money hosting servers and stuff and people who want cheats and mods can still use them.

This is the kind of things I think about at night when I should be sleeping lol.

    ROFLOL! Gurrrl
I think that's the biggest hold back of making another SOL- But there is So much more they can do now.

They can set it up that woohoo is only in the players household- Cut down on the late night calls.

So much...I don't know.. Become a burglar and try and steal from everyone. 8)
    Firefighters...
Businesses: Nannies, Maids, gardeners, be architects to build each others houses, be interior designers, be farmers to sell food....

Families we can control but they can't move out unless someone wants one to marry into their family- then they control that Sim...

    OR many not.

to each there own opinion i guess . personally im conflicted on the one hand even tho i like playing my sims 3 by myself it can get rather boring unless i make up some random story in my head.i never did get into sims online because the day i actually found out about it was the last day it was closing so....then again if a sims online did come back id probably be tempted to try it out since i am after all a huge simmer fan :)

I use to play sims all the time with my cousins. Although its always a fun game it is interesting when you have someone else playing with you.

The biggest problem would be because everyone plays the sims differently! Some people just want to build and some people like to add twists and be home wreckers. Some people like me like to plan out a story! With all the cheats and careers and mods and not everyone has the same EP/SP some people have custom content it would just be a mess..

I hope not. I hate online games. I will not play The Sims if they ever become online game.

Not gonna happen, no matter how much John Riccitiello wants it. There's already a game like it: Second Life. A Sims 3 Online version would only work if it was done right; but even then, it would get boring if all you're doing is working your way up the corporate ladder and interacting with people as a perpetual young adult.

Thanks, but no thanks. Every time this topic gets introduced, there are always more No's than there are Yes's.

Unless they can fix the problem with adult content groups that plague MMOs, this will never come to pass. Not after what happened with Sims Online.
