Must-Have Sims 1 Resolution and UI Patch for Modern Computers

FaithBeam's patch is essential, and note that the name is a bit of a misnomer; it's not just for widescreen monitors and it does a lot of help to fix the UI so that the game is actually playable.
This is widely used in the community but thought I would share for those that are unfamiliar!
