What do you want in a Generations style pack?

It's probably wishful thinking but I hope one day we get a generations style pack that brings in features like private/boarding school, interactive day care career, nursing homes, prom could return!
Here are some things I would love to see in a generations pack/some ideas that I think would tie in well. What do you guys think?

Schooling: Maybe different style schools, public school, private school, boarding school, military school etc (even if they are just off screen they could build certain skills better, encourage or discourage behaviour like respectfulness, and affect your chances or being accepted in to university) (this is similar to the sims 3 style boarding schools!)
Field trips, parent or grandparent sims can elect to go with, and they could be interactive (at an art gallery, hospital, museum, park, beach clean up etc)
Also scholarships to private school similar to university, based on grades in primary school or if they are in a sports club/high athletic skill etc

Clubs/classes: Now I know we have clubs and I'm sure they could be utilised in this way, but what about a mothers group or pregnancy classes, a book club, golfing clubs, more after school activities - I wouldn't even be mad if some were rabbit holes that they can return from with new friends, skills or buffs like 'feeling reassured about pregnancy' or 'bonding over books' etc etc

Body image: We could get acne, be able to buy treatments online (varying prices promising different results, some good some bad!), sims nearing the end of their young adult lifestyle (maybe a few days before their birthday depending on the length you play) could notice fine lines and wrinkles and buy creams or try making herbal remedies, adults could notice aches and pains and go for massages, teens could start developing body hair (body made a come back please!)

Parties/events: We could host teenage parties (prom!), kids parties, anniversary parties, slumber parties! This is all ties in nicely to the new parties available in the wedding pack too.
Sunday dinner could be an event/party, with goals to make it successful, or even family night where they have to make/order dinner, watch a movie or play a game together, put the kids to bed (read a book), get to know each other/ask about day/chat and all kids in bed before midnight (meet all requirements and get a super parent/bonding successful buff).
School reunions could be a thing for adults!
Prom of course, having to ask someone out or decide to go with friends, picking an outfit, risk of prom outfit/make up/hair malfunction etc - could be interactive or rabbit hole

Mid life crisis: Mid life crisis could encourage sims to quit their career, even change their lifestyles and goals, maybe introduce plastic surgery at the hospital where they can change certain features. Midlife crisis might encourage them to seek new relationships, divorce, cheat, get married, maybe have a later in life child, adopt etc.

Nursing homes: I'd love a nursing home also! Elder sims can choose (or be influenced!) to go live in a nursing home which would act like a combinations of apartments/university housing - communal kitchens with free food provided, bedrooms with set furniture options but you can change colours and decorate as you wish (maybe different cost nursing homes have different quality food, better or worse beds, bigger rooms etc.) - elder sims can choose to take their money with them or elect any sims (not just their children, anyone they know) to inherit - maybe even options of leaving money to a charity etc rather than greedy children. Non-elder sims visiting nursing homes could get a 'smells like old people' buff.

Chores and allowances: New interactions like teens can steal from parents wallets/bags if they're rebellious, you can give kids and teens allowances, make them do set chores, they can host lemonade stands.

New neighbourhood: A cute neighbour hood with most houses having at least 3 bedrooms, big lots, mostly pre set households would be families/young couples or retirees - we already have good schools, teen hang out etc, so no major new ones needed but these could be utilised well in a new neighbourhood, maybe one area would have more expensive, large lots with the pre-existing lots have multiple bedrooms and theatre rooms, tree houses etc, the cheaper neighbour hood could have a bad school trait were sims have to work a lot harder to do well (or go to boarding school) and are less likely to be accepted in to university, with smaller lots.

Anyway, this is just some of my ideas, I would love to hear any thoughts/opinions and new ideas!

Yep. That's the only thing that would interest me in a pack like this.
FYI: Just because you can see my signature, don't assume that I can see yours.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off. ;)

Well, I’m not a generations player, so I’m personally more inclined toward the dragons, but as someone who worked in elder care, I’d much rather see our sims get a respecting and learning from our elders buff than the one bolded one. Modern society loves youth and beauty and discards the aged. We should value the wisdom, tenacity, and beauty of a long life well lived.

Sorry. Not coming at you on this. Just an observation from a very tired therapist who has seen too many older people treated with disregard during an international health crisis.

I mean, I'd prefer the Dragons, but I want some expanded family play too.

Much of what I want is covered in the OP. I'm a bit less keen on some of the things (or at least having them be active events) but at least for teens and kids there's nothing I'd regret "having" to have in my game.

Maybe because I am already past that age, but I'd find it really annoying to have *every* adult worry about aging. And not everyone has a mid-life crisis either. I'm not saying these things can't be fun once in a while, but it gets tedious if it's the same for every sim because it just plays into the stereotypes. If it's semi-random, but influenced by traits, I'd like it better.

As for elders, what I'd much rather see than a Nursing home is a Senior Center maybe as a new lot type or village rabbit hole, where seniors could go do low impact workouts (that don't cause the dangerously overtired buff) or work on their hobbies (painting, knitting, gardening, etc..) in social groups. And the Senior Center could also send your Elder Sims on Special Tours - The elder vanishes into a 2-3 day rabbit hole, and comes back with a bunch of knick-knacks and clutter. What exactly they come back with would depend on what packs you own, but it would be stuff (and not super valuable, so no Omsican Treasures) from the "hidden" section of each world's catalogue. So yes, a "tour" of Glimmerbrook might have them come back with a Magical Tome.

In line with what cyncie says above, I'd also like it if elders could go to the library to volunteer to read to toddlers and kids, or help kids and teens with their homework (that is, a specific child or teen would spawn as their "homework partner" and they'd then autonomously use "help with homework")

I would love all of this, BUT I'd rather see it as an update to the parenthood pack (everything that has to do with schooling and kids/teens) combined with base game updates (for elders and adults) than a new pack that I need to spend more money on.

I would also greatly expand what you can do as an elder, and introduce a new life stage for middle age where the sim gets wrinkles and lose fertility so they can't have babies anymore. I'm tired of seeing neighborhood sims having babies two days before aging up to elders. @DaWaterRat I love the idea of elders being able to mentor children and teens and read to kids.

As for the "respect elders"/"smell like old people" buffs, different sims could have different buffs? Boring if everyone feels the same way.

I would like Generations to be the pack that brings back old school objects and interactions from previous iterations of The Sims. There could be neighborhoods or households with a different decade feel.

100% agree, just an idea of a reaction a sim could have, but like you mentioned and someone else I think another could be 'learned to respect elders' or 'heard amazing stories about a time long gone' etc etc!
I feel like the elder lifestyle just needs major expansion overall, I feel like a lot of what they do is so limited, especially if you don't own many packs (like knitting, country living etc)

Also as someone else said I don't think every sim should have a mid-life crisis, maybe affected by traits or their progress in their lifestyle aspiration? Even randomness could make the game fun and unpredictable

In Sims 3 Generations parents could randomly win a free vacation and disappear for the whole weekend without the kids. Then the children and teens would stay at home alone for the weekend and you could throw a party without the parents noticing!

I hope this returns in a Generations pack! It was something unexpected that could shift your story around. :)

The parents would also get a moodlet after the free vacation. Sometimes parents would get a negative moodlet because the free vacation was very bad.

    - tree houses (your Sims can set rules, for example "only boys can enter")
    - new Sim-to-Sim activities (play tag, play cop and robber)
    - new interaction: pillow fight
    - rope skipping (one Sim, only available when rope in inventory, builds motor skill)
    - costume chest (while wearing a costume your Sim will have a special behaviour and their creativity skill will rise)
    - hop scotch (builds motor skill)
    - play oven (with edible muffins/cakes)
    - cake stand
    - new: cooking skill available for kids (max. level 3, can only use "play oven")
    - new social event: sleepover, new item: sleeping bag

    Teens
    - new after school activities (violin, glee, debate, sports, online newspaper, chemistry, garden)

    - ask s.o. to be prom date
    - proms (text adventure with different outcomes, e.g. prom king/queen)
    - learning how to drive
    - chemistry set for teens (builds logic skill)
    - can turn their imaginary friend into a Sim (when relationship is high enough, > 75)
    - CAS: body hair, more acne options, more tatoos, more beards, new trait (for teens and up) rebellious
    - high school graduation (rabbit hole event, gives you a photograph and a diploma)

    Young adults

Thank You for your quote and for the time You give to elders. As a physically handicapped person and not even that old yet, I already see this disregard and attitude towards myself that I don't count, and do not matter. It is nice to hear the opposite now and then. I like pretty much everything that everyone has said but lets not skimp on food or housing for elderly and kids. I don't think the Sims needs to be that far into realism.

I really want extended families to be more of a thing. I want the option to be able to develop a relationship with anyone on your family tree, or automatically to be able to invite them to weddings etc

Maybe sims could have a photobook (a collection of family photos in a book inventory)

Family tree pictures could also be lit-up or dimmed depending on whether or not the sim is friends with or knows about the person in question, so elders could have the option to reminisce about the person so sims could learn about the dead, or the sim could read their autobiography, or visit their grave, or something, to have a relationship develop post-mortem. It needn't be the same as the friendship bar, but it could be similar - like a 'gone but not forgotten' bar

    SCHOOL
better daycare: the current one, but you can send you tot any time, not just when your out of the house. has a normal fee. raises motives. and some skills depending on traits
Public school: free what we have already but your sim will get bullied when they are "the new kid" and possibly for other reasons traits, skills, grades, etc.
Private school low class: has a fee but just a small one and is a bit better than public, and your sim does not get bullied as much and 1 optional class (sports)
Private school medium class: has a normal fee and get bullied rarely. better than previous options. 2 optional classes (chorus and sports can do both)
Private school High class: large fee but better then previous options. can be expelled if bad and if your sim is bullied they can report the bully to the priceable. has 3 optional classes (chorus, sport of your choosing and music/band/flag holder etc.)
boarding school: high or medium fee. like university in that you control your sim but for kids and teens. some are girls only or boys only teens and kids have different ones.
Summer camp: free and gains certain skills or if you don't go, you get summer off anyway unless you had bad grades or broke school rules then it is mandatory.
Homeschool computer: free and finishes at about twelve pm then normal school. but may not work sometimes and can cause "Bad reception" moodlet or they can skip school.
homeschooled by parent: fee for the curriculum, better curriculums cost more, grows relationship and parents can pass on some skills. but may cause parent to have moodlet "What if I am not smart enough?" finches at around eleven am
Private tutor: comes to your house. most expensive possibility there is. only for the very rich and best one out there.
Community colleges: requires DU and free. also lowers cost of normal collage. not as good as paid collage
that finishes my list for school, on to the next one :)
    ELDERS
bingo, sims could bet money as well. (not only elders)
    canes, wheelchairs, walkers!
RVs, golf and curses (not only elders)
nursing homes, senior discount, social security/pension
funerals and graveyard (not only elders obviously)
stories to tell can cause sims to get buffs such as "Wow I learned so much about the past" or a more negative one "sooo boring". unique thought bubbles if you played that sim to elder like thought bubbles of things that you had them do during youth
    NEW LIFE STAGES
    newborn baby: the current baby
baby: crawls, gets into trouble, and can be carried around. uses walker, bouncer and highchair.
young child: goes to kindergarten. just after tot.
Pre-teen: a younger teen. goes to grade school.
mid adult: just before elder. can have midlife crises
    MISC
    treehouses and trampolines
    school bus
    full time nanny
odd jobs for kids like running errands and getting groceries
I think that is all. but it should be split up over different packs like a schooling gp, and new life stages should be base game. thanks for reading! :)

The return of pranks from TS3 Generations.
    Canes for elders.
After school activities like sports and ballet.
    Treehouses.
    Daycare career.
    Curfew for teens.
Parents having free vacations for three sim days.
    Teen parties.
"Play tag" interaction for kids and Childish sims.
    "Hide-and-seek" interaction.
    Trampolines.
Interactive proms. I didn't like how the proms in TS3 were stuck in rabbit holes.
"Boast about grandkids" for elders (and probably adults if their kids have children).

I really want walking canes for elders! That has been something that made them stick out from other age groups.
Also I want NPC elders to use walking canes by default, since that makes them more unique. Also elders should get a new, slower walking style... since they‘re elders. Unless they have high Fitness skill which allows them to walk like a Young Adult

I want unique content for each life stage. Elders need canes and more elderly walk style options, kids need more activities they can do with other children more games not locked to objects, teens need to be able to learn to drive and go to prom (also go to an active lot high school but this needs its own expansion)

But most importantly the gaps in life stages need fixed toddlers were a band aid to this issue my enjoyment of this game and storyline possibilities are still limited because of the rushed base game where babies remain a bassinet and teens remain renamed adults with renamed activities. The gap from bassinet to walking toddler is just insane to me in older Sims games toddlers would crawl first but instead we completely skip over that huge step in life where the lifeless bassinet could be used to experience this and the same can be said from going from a small child to a fully grown teen where did the time go what game play was missed from going to a child to a teen who looks 18 in an instant.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"
