Don't miss the For Rent Developer Deep Dive Stream this Friday, December 1st! We've got a watch along thread here, so come on over, neighbor!

Remembering you have an expansion!

Does anybody else find that they tend to forget they have certain expansions?
I usually wind up ignoring most of the game features until I finally remember then go all out playing that feature to death!
In my current save everybody is at University as its something I havent done for ages. Really enjoying balancing my sims college work and social life...and as a keen builder also enjoying plopping university dorms in random worlds coz who wouldnt want their dorm to be on a beach in Sulani!!

Yeah in each of my playthroughs or generations I basically only play one expansion pack because they don't go together well.

I'm pretty good at incorporating most of the packs in my gameplay. My main sim is a spellcaster so I often use features from ROM. She and the rest of the family live on a farm with CL animals and regularly visit HOB for activities there. They take frequent trips to Sulani and Mt Komorebi. While I don't do much with NAPs my sims do like the crafting that came with EL. I have a teen who will soon be starting university. There's a family dog and the family owns a vet clinic. I'm just starting organizing clubs.

The same goes for GPs and SPs. I use most of the features fairly often.

For me the challenge isn't in remembering that I have an EP/GP installed...It's remembering what features are base game and what are from packs. Everything installed acts as a whole game experience for me, and other than the most obvious things...like the specific worlds, weather, skiing, etc. ...I don't always remember what came with what pack.
This post will be edited by StormKeep at some point.

That’s me, as well. I think the features integrate very well, enough that I have to think about what pack introduced which elements.

Yeah there is certain packs i haven't even fully explored or the last time i used them was ages ago what can I say  it just goes that way you'll always end up playing favourites with so much content

trying to explore those things again though when i roll around suitable sim and story

+ I suppose me being too spooked to add more packs to my system now kind of helps with going back to old content

I remember I have the expansion packs I do, but I go most of them at the same time that, so I forgot the specific features each one has.
There have been a couple times where I thought feature came from one pack, but it actually was from another pack.

I'm with you two. I just play the game, using whatever features from whichever pack to do what I want to do. The closest I get to pack focus is preferring to use the large vacant lot in the upper left corner of Windenburg as home base for my sim(s).

I forget about the Dream Home Decorator one. I guess just because it doesn't have it's own world or any special lots.

I have different saves for them. After the expansion pack has been released I've usually started a new save and it's natural to play with the features that came with it, even later too. I'm not restricting my Sims to that specific pack (especially later if I end up keeping the save), but I try to use a lot of it.
Sometimes I forget some things that came with the pack, but it's mostly just because I don't care about that specific feature.
I never forget the full expansion pack, though. I don't like Eco Lifestyle pack in general and I don't play with some of it's features, for example I usually turn the environment system or NAPs off, but I still like to use some other parts of it, I like juice fizzing, candle making, bugs, careers, trash diving, CAS & BB items etc.

Since I play rotationally I have a lot of variety in my game and will invariably use features from every pack at some point.

What I do forget is some of the BB items cos I can never trawl all through the catalogue.

Remember you have content? Is that an option?? Lol

I regularly don't use everything usually I have some idea in mind when playing and if I don't think of things many will go unused I sometimes use the filters to help but as forgetful as I can be I can easily see what I've never used. Not to mention I like to think there is something for every type of sim so there usually isn't something I outright hate I just do whatever.

That said...it's still one whole game to me and I'm not uninstalling a thing I wouldn't want to lose what I forget about I guess :D
Reddestiny921 on the gallery...still not sure if I capitalized the second d..lol

I know have the expansion, but I don't always know what comes with what. But I don't do a huge amount of building so often have a nice surprise when I go hunting around in there :)
