I left the description of my Oasis Springs mostly unaltered, but added that it's the best place to meet aliens from the planet Sixam. Because in the history of my save, Oasis Springs is where simkind first made contact with extraterrestrial life. As such, the focus of this world is on astronomy and other sciences, and of course the various kinds of aliens themselves.
Mirage Canyon is the commercial district and still includes the original lounge and fitness studio. I replaced the bar with a library where an alien club regularly gathers, and in-story, this is the place where sims from outside Oasis Springs go to make alien friends. The museum was moved to another part of the world and in its place is now a retail store where sims can buy alien crystals, metals, science potions, etc.
Skyward Palms is a community of aliens and regular sims co-existing peacefully, and the well-known residence of three people who played an integral part in establishing human-alien relations as we know them today: Bobo, the alien scientist turned mayor of Oasis Springs who accidentally crashed his UFO in the outskirts of the town thirty years ago, the now elderly Froufrou who discovered said UFO, fell in love with the alien inside and became his wife, and Professor Magnus Sixam, the first human to travel to the alien planet that he promptly named after himself.
Bedrock Strait features a different kind of sapient alien species also originating from the planet Sixam: the asari, which Mass Effect fans will know from... well, Mass Effect.
I treat them as aliens in my game even though they're technically only alien-looking spellcasters (or vampires) with additional alien powers that I gave them via cheat. They can be encountered all over my sim world (even one of the Magic Realm's sages is an asari), but Bedrock Strait is exclusive to them. The neighbourhood also features a Sixam-inspired night club and the original Oasis Springs museum turned into a planetarium and gathering place for my astronomy club.
The old military base in what used to be the Desert Bloom Park was built as a home for more Mass Effect characters, human and alien alike, but I never moved them in, so now I'm toying with the idea of turning it into an asari monastery instead, and claiming that this neighbourhood is a part of Bedrock Strait.
Not much to say about Acquisition Butte, it has a huge laboratory for all kinds of scientific endeavours and the swimming pool that was originally in Windenburg, because, well, the desert needs it more than Windenburg.
Last but not least, Parched Prospect is the only neighbourhood of Oasis Springs that doesn't belong to the aliens, at least if we define "aliens" as extraterrestrial beings. Unofficially called the Selvadoradian district, it is inhabited by a family of human archaeologists and otherwise filled with a Selvadorada-inspired restaurant, cantina, museum, and retail store.
@elanorbreton & @ModerateOsprey, I'm so sorry but I don't comprehend modern tech terminology. Only a step-by-step simple picture instructions. I don't even know if I even have a snipping tool. Maybe there's a free download on Google, I don't know. It's so over my head. I'll try to research it somewhere.
If you are on windows 10 like Stormkeep said there is less modern tech version as you probably still have paint right?
then you can just go in game hit print screen/PrtSc button on your keyboard when you see what you want to capture
this will take screenshot of everything on screen
open paint hit paste there (or hit Ctrl and V on your keyboard does as well) and save image
then head over to imgur blob the picture there from where you saved it (drag over imgur site will do)
and hit the ... in corner of picture from which there is get share links click that and copy bbcode(forums) link and add bb code link on forum
also you can obviously access your desktop to use paint while game still runs (you don't have to close it)
by pressing windows key if you are in full screen mode
.... hold up i just realized you can even Ctrl V your screenshot straight to imgur without the paint thing thats neat
so even more simplified:

Sadly, that hood vanished with a huge HD crash and I haven't been able to find any backups of it. Since then I have a hard time getting invested in Oasis Springs again.
Anyway, this is my current version. A mix of my own builds, Gallery finds and renos.

Well kinda It's edited Yuma Heights I just made it bit more compact and moved it to another neighborhood
I also added a pool
and I'm planning to move Langeraks in so I made Zeldas room
don't know yet what I do about the other bedrooms so they're definitely very not done yet
but basically I think Kaylynn would have the smaller blue bedroom
and Parker gets the bigger blue bedroom and remaining one is for the parents
and downstairs again not done but some layouts were made
added small study for Iliana whos grand business dreams have afforded them to move to this fancy house in first place

At Desert Blossom Park, my Sims are known to roast smores while children and toddlers enjoy the play areas. Toddlers have their own restrooms in the the Toddler play area.
Here is my Star Wars Srip. The museum and next door is the restaurant. Sims experience full immersion when dining because the staff are dressed in JTB and/or Star Wars costumes.

@VeeDub Thank you! I love the asari. The above picture doesn't even include them all, at least three more have moved into my world since I put it together. I might update it once I've made up my mind about the monastery in Oasis Springs.
I am super, ridiculously (almost obsessively) particular about my worlds all being cohesive and matching.
I had started making a save with Oasis Springs all being the same, but I've lost that save and can't find it, so the last few days I have spent re-doing it.
In my mind Oasis Springs is sort of like a private "Gated Community", where the HOA (Homeowners Association) requires all the houses to be the same color stucco and roofing shingles.
The monthly HOA fees include use of the 5-star spa & gym, a massive community pool that offers activities for all ages, a conveniently located restaurant, and some hip and trendy night life spots (which make it very easy to walk home if you get too juiced!).
@Chicklet453681 You OS looks great! I immediately wanted to make all my worlds have similar looking houses. Is the resturant on the gallery?

I do not enjoy building in the least, I don't mind a renovation here and there but building from scratch from the ground up is not fun for me, so I leave that to the much more talented simmers who do enjoy building.

Acquisition Butte - Oasis Springs needed a huge spa. I imagine the Landgraabs family owning all of AB including the spa across the street. The spa is one of the top Gallery results and I renovated it to fit my own style and needs. I took a page from a bunch of Affluista Mansion renos and made my own keeping it very modern.
Mirage Canyon - MC is where the whole town hangs out with plenty to do. The restaurant serves as an ice cream shop that used to be a bakery shell built by Jenba. The bowling alley is an EA renovation by Tamo that I also made changes to. The community pool for those who don't already have a pool (built by lilsimsie / renovated by me). Rattlesnake Juice bar originally a PeachPlays renovation and I made my own changes to it.
Skyward Palms - I was inspired by @Chicklet453681 to turn SP into an HOA section of Oasis Springs. It took me about a week to renovate the EA lots in this neighborhood to match. I wanted Oasis Springs to have a wedding venue instead of a random arch at the park.. So I gave Granada Palace a coat of white paint and used the wedding pack to turn it into a Spanish style chapel.
As for the other lots, they were renovated EA lots by myself and/or others just like everything else.
Most OS premades are still living here, some in new homes. A few of my own sims + made-over townies occupy the residential lots.
The most recent change I made was turning the top lot into a wedding venue. Nina and Don got married there when it was still a lounge.
I installed the map replacement for Oasis Springs. I love how it makes the world pop!
