Help with The Sims 2 Super Collection

Hi y'all

Since I'm at college and don't have my PC with me, I decided to install the Sims 2 Super Collection. However, I have no clue how to install mods and CC. According to old posts on the Mod the Sims forum it appears to be possible, but I have no clue how to access the folders (I have no clue how to use Macbooks in the first place, it was not my computer of choice but alas). I tried following the tips in the post but to no avail. It's worth noting what I looked at was from 2014 and it may be different now.

If anyone knows how please let me know!

Just so you know: on mac the file path to the equivalent of the documents folder is "/Users/[username/computername]/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2" I'm not sure why Aspyr chose that though, maybe it worked better on older computers?
