I shouldn't just because I don't like that stunt they pulled with the Russian Simmers, but I just want Weddings to get a little more content is that too much to ask for?
My sims always elope. I don't have any interest in weddings personally so veils, cakes or flower-sims are of no interests to me.
The world looks wonderful. At some point there will be a pack with gameplay that I would enjoy, that would entice me to go online and update mods and CC. Until there is gameplay that interests me I will not go online. When there is I will probably get it. Will look at a few videos how it reacts with seasons first. It is different from usual since I have no interest in the gameplay that comes with the pack.
I am starting to having second thoughts. I want it so badly; but apparently nothing is even working properly and I am already dealing with game breaking bugs from Snowy Escape plus other bugs on top of it that really needs to be addressed. I will see when it is actually released and if there is any fixes since it has been pushed back and people said things might be the same as what we see from the game changers as a result.
I'm glad it'll be available worldwide, but still "no" - I've watched lots of gameplay videos yesterday in many different languages and it's a buggy mess to the level it's insulting.
At least now my weddings works as is. Additional parties do not bring anything new, so I can use the old ones to get the same activities. Wedding CC I already have in my game and it's free. For slow dancing I use mod. So this leaves me without bouquets, walking down the isle with petals/ring bearers and a world. The first two things I definitely can leave without. As for the world, yes, it's very pretty. But it's not ok for EA to just throw a world at us to compensate for everything else. And I'll vote with my money.
I feel EA need to apologies for this release it's horrible in so many ways.
I was never really gonna buy it for the weddings...but it still feels wrong to buy a game pack where it doesn't look like the "game" part of it is working very well.
After watching some Sims 3 videos of Sims 3 weddings and seeing how even Sims 3 weddings are also kind of meh chaotic parties as well, I can safely say that this pack is adding stuff and a few things to weddings, so I’m pretty happy with getting this pack, because it’s trying to add some details to the planning of the weddings/adding some aspects to the wedding.
While I see your point, a pack dedicated to weddings should have weddings that work.. At least TS3 never dedicated an entire pack to them so chaos in that case is far more acceptable ^^
I will be buying today. I wish it had been an EP with hotels and maybe a casino. The hammock I've asked for since Sims3 middle years. I do like all the interactions. The world is pretty. I like that we have another lighthouse. The swimming, bridges, and waterfalls are great draws. The town looks filled in pretty good. I still wish they had stuck the largest lot possible on in there and left it empty. I also wish this especially for the "farm" pack we got. I'm not sure about the wedding dresses. I guess I was hoping for some really pretty ones. I guess I will have to look at them. Was happy with the wedding cake options. I didn't see the rings or if the champaign bottles work. I love all the parties. I'm happy with the pack overall, but I think it should've been an EP with hotels. Really like some of the stuff I saw though. The isle, the petal person, the different things to get married at. Wedding venue, the menu, likes, choices ect. Since it is weddings with kids, I do feel that kids/toddlers should've gotten more things to wear especially matching the bridesmaid dresses. I'm not sure if there is a podium if there are some that would like a church wedding, but if not it should've been added with it's own arch or in some way. I do love the stain glass windows. They are lovely. I may make my own church one day. The buffet is nice. The dancing, tea sets, cake toppers, fixing the guests sitting down, and ect. Although I think we should've had hotels, it has more than I thought at first. Have to say that it is pretty well put together as long as they have some nice rings.
Sadly I think I'm losing interest lately so will wait to see if it inspires me again. I'm not interested in weddings but will see what objects and CAS come with it. I haven't played for a couple of months now after getting RSI.
I've been unhappy with packs especially the kits/clothes ones. I did buy the last one as it looked promising. I've gone months also until recently. Started playing more. I actually prepared a couple which I usually don't do. I have their bars all the way up, best friends, fixing to reach the soulmate thing. All that is needed is the proposal and wedding. I wish hotels had made it in, but I'm happy about what I see.
You may also want to spend a little time reading through some of the other threads on the forums, because it is sounding like the pack has a lot of issues/bugs based on what GCs who have the pack already are experiencing.
I'm still buying it right away, but it will at least be a decision I made knowing what the issues currently are. I was watching some live streams and it is almost laughable how many 'problems' the person had.
As a family legacy player this pack is a must, though I am nervous from hearing about all these alleged bugs I’m not going to let it stop me from giving things a go!
Worst case scenario, I’ll have a new world for my sims to explore and some GORGEOUS CAS/BB assets until the bugs are resolved.
Still doing the pros vs cons dance, so I have no idea what I will end up doing. I love the look of the new world. And who doesn't love getting a new world? Slow dancing....its been over seven years of wishing for this but it isn't enough to push me into the 'Buy It Now' category. During the live stream I couldn't help but notice all the weird clipping going on and I found it quite distracting, to be honest. Clipping has been going on since Sims4 was released, but during and after the ceremony in the live stream, I saw several Sims walking through the cake table and various other decor items. That kind of stuff makes the pack look a bit amateurish. Maybe others don't feel this way, but certain details seem to have been pushed aside in the hope we'd get all caught up in wedding excitement and not notice? If anything can break my immersion, it's a Sim walking through tables, chairs and other Sims. That kind of behavior is usually reserved for ghost Sims. Another feature that didn't make sense to me was the choosing of the bouquet which is actually a way of choosing the decorations at the wedding venue and our Sim brides don't carry it when they walk down the aisle? If that's the case, why not show thumbnails of the wedding arch displaying the different colors of flowers and bows? I wonder if the bride can at least hold the bouquet during photo sessions. I saw the bouquet in the Sims bride's inventory but later during the ceremony the bouquet was not used. Many things are being looked at and considered as I make a decision about buying it or not. If it turns out the only part of this pack that comes close to what I would like is the world itself, then I'll wait for it to go on sale.
