I mean, if I had my druthers, they would have made it an expansion pack, rather than a game pack, and rolled a bunch of new romance and dating gameplay into it along with all of the wedding stuff. Seriously, I think it would have been one of their highest selling EP's for the game if they had done that.
I sometimes don't understand what the creative director at Maxis is thinking; so many missed opportunities.

I agree. I would have preferred that as well.

I'll be buying it primarily for the world, which has been my plan pretty much every since the leak. The world is as gorgeous (and even bigger) as I hoped, so that's still the plan.

That being said, as much as people were disappointed by the livestream, I found things in it that also made me like the theme and content more than I expected. I'm still happy about the tea set; even if it's not perfect, it's still something I've wanted for a long time and it will be a good addition. Looks like there are also two new tea flavors as well. I like the drawing in the sand and the message in a bottle items. I probably won't throw a lot of weddings, but I do have one couple (the first household I ever created) who have been engaged for at least four years. So I will probably have them make it official once I buy this pack. After that, we'll see. On the whole, even if I don't use weddings much, there are plenty of locations, items, and outfits that I can incorporate into my main save to improve things.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the CAS being boring or dowdy or whatever, but after some of the recent kits, I'm ready for something a bit more elegant and classy. There are definitely a lot of items here that I will enjoy incorporating into my formal wear options in general, not just for weddings.

Someone mentioned harvestables, and I would also have liked to see at least one or two more that could have made the world even more unique. Almond trees would have been lovely for a Mediterranean setting. But who knows, maybe we will be surprised. If not, perhaps the modders will step in. Same goes for more Mediterranean foods. Even if they weren't included in the stalls (and I have mixed feelings about that), I would really like to put in a restaurant where the lounge is now, and it would have been nice to see a few new regional dishes, perhaps Croatian and/or Greek-inspired.

I do think I will wait to buy it at least until I know what the bugs are and how likely they are to impact me. After that, I'll decide whether or not to wait for a sale and/or major patches. In the meantime, I'll go through my households to see who I might want to move there eventually and watch the gallery to see the interesting venues other people create.

I have been looking at the map and trying to decide what to build and where. Think I will build a pizza restaurant on the little island and a big church wedding venue in place of the lounge. Wish there was an ice cream stand somewhere in the village because that world totally needs a gelateria. Also, Bela and Mortimer will be moving here. :)

Olives, @crocobaura They definitely needed to add Olives to the list of things you can grow with this pack. And, yes, Almonds. Those are the two harvestables I was hoping to see added.

Croatian or Greek food additions would have been so sweet too. I add a restaurant to most worlds in the game, but I probably won't for this pack if there aren't any new, regional foods added. :(

Oh, yes, olives! That would have been perfect. Olives and almonds, and if they were really generous, figs. (Particularly since that lore tree looks like an ancient fig tree to me.)

I was honestly surprised that I didn't at least see some lemon trees dotted around the neighborhoods, since we already have those in the game. (Adding orange trees would have been fitting, too, but they're not on my short list of most-missed harvestables.)

Yes, both olives and almond trees would have been nice. Oranges too. Maybe they'll add them later in another pack.

I saw what looked like a vineyard neighbourhood decor, so there might be lemon trees and other harvestables specific to the area like tomatoes and basil dotted around the neighbourhood.

Ah, a gelateria sounds wonderful! I do think I will use one of the lots (either the empty forest lot, or the lounge lot if I don't make a restaurant) as a bakery. My bakeries almost always sell ice cream, too.

I'll need to open the lots to be sure, but my inclination right now is to leave all of the existing homes (and the rental lot) as they are, with small tweaks, because they all look really nice. The premades are definitely getting evicted, though! :D

I do really wish they would start adding one more 20x20 or 20x30 empty lot to each downtown area. (See also, Cottage Living). People who have Get to Work-- which I have to think is most of us at this point-- always talk about wanting to add at least one retail lot of their own to the town center. Those who don't own it might still really like to add a townhouse to that neighborhood. This is even more important now that we are getting these downtown areas that are all shells with window shopping, so there's nothing we can bulldoze. I mean, yes, here we have the empty beach lot, but they really talked up how perfect the beach wedding venue is that they are adding to the gallery, so it's hard to imagine not using that. And it's not really what I would envision for a retail lot, anyway.

I mean, I'm overall pretty content with the number of lots, but just going from 9 to10, and the 10th being a small lot, would have added a lot of options.

I don't know what made them not add any lot in the village area, it would have been great for a retail business or restaurant. I was hoping that the little white building to the side of the lighthouse was a buildable lot, but it's not, that would have been a great spot for a restaurant.

Olives, almonds, oranges, and figs would all have been welcome additions. I would also have liked to see new grape variations and/or other fruits suitable for wine making. As mentioned in another thread, I would love for nectar making to make a return to TS4 at some point.

I, myself am avoiding the pack because I rather get the pack at a price, I think it is worth and not just for the world at full price as it does not sound economically sound to me. I rather pay $9.99 or cheaper for that is what I feel it is worth.

I wish I could say otherwise but I have pretty much paid full price for every expansion and game pack, I think I've only gotten the stuff packs on sale! So more than likely I'll be getting this asap full price lol

Lol, don’t feel bad. I have bought every single thing on release day except the menswear kit. I just bought that one 2 weeks ago when I bought Carnaval Street Wear.

No worries. I buy some of the packs full price, too (though I usually sometimes find some slightly cheaper prices on other websites). Especially if it’s a pack I’m excited for.

Since I got an Amazon gift card, I plan to get it once they release it. Since they hadn't even released the Carnaval Streetwear kit on the US Amazon site yet, who knows how long of a wait it will be. Maybe it would be for the best to wait anyways. I will have to see.

Yes. Definitely must buy whenever it’s available. I skipped Cottage Living so I’m a little bit itchy to get a new world. Mediterranean vibes are right up my alley. I do think the wedding in Live Stream was a little underwhelming, but customization was cool as well as amount of new parties. With this Sims wedding can easily become two weeks affair. I’m a little disappointed there is no single Sim premade household, because I wanted my Sim to marry Tartosa native, but oh well…

More like probably not. From what have seen so far it looks very linear - like Strangerville - and has limited replay apparently being confined to planning and executing fancy weddings. Would need a lot more information on what's in it, can anything be used in general sims gaming, bug/disappointment reports, and the like. Right now, am seriously underwhelmed.

Eventuallly, I am sure, since even if I swear to not get something at first, more often than not I will still end up buying it at some point. Not anytime soon, though, as I don't feel like planning any weddings at the moment.

Unfortunately not... having wedding is not something I can do everyday in my game. That's why I can't see any point of purchasing that DLC.

Cannot wait! Massive marriage wave will hit most of my rotational households. Cannot wait to see the gallery build innovations of the new lot type. Several neighborhoods will be edited: snowy wedding in Komorebi, romantic garden themed in Willow, modern rooftop nuptials in Myshuno, or volcanic I-do in Sulani? Hope we can place the venue in the vacation worlds, as well.

you should have include the option of once EA officially tell the real reason they are not releasing it in Russia. I have seen quite a few "influencers" say that they are not buying or promoting the pack.

Until Russia as other countries get it no. EA says they want equally for all players but now it seems all except for Russia. It’s disgusting what they are doing to Russian simmers. I can’t see no reason why this pack isn’t released. The game has same sex couples/trans sims etc even on cover art for DHD it has a male couple and realm of magic a trans sim front and centre. Also the recent 2 kits and other free lgbt gameplay. What packs this pack so different from these others? I think it’s all political and it’s disgusting what EA are doing right now.

I was totally going to buy it, but upon learning that Russia is being excluded, I’ve given it a lot of thought. I won’t buy it until they can.
