The Sirio section was painful to write, he's so cute that it's hard to have anything bad happening to him. But he's going to be the heir in Gen 6 and, if you noticed the trend already, heirs in this legacy tend to be involved in a lot of troubles and injustices.
As for Steve's idea instead... The more I think about it, the more I convince myself that it's enough to have my degree cancelled, but it's definitively a plot point I need to continue the story. Lots of science fiction explanations coming in the next chapter, that's for sure...

Poor Sirio, his emotional telepathy is going to be so hard for him as a young child. It's a lot to deal with so many negative thoughts especially when you're just a kid and you don't really know what you can do to help people. Okay but that scene of Sirio with the monster under the bed is SO GOOD and I love that you made such a powerbut bit in the story just from a little happening in-game. Much like Sirio, maybe the monster is understood too. It's easy to relate to monsters when you yourself are othered and sometimes treated as a monster.
It's kind of sad to think that a whole planet with such rich history has just been reduced to a desolate tourist attraction. It's nice that the generations always end up going back there at least once. < 3 I really like the touch with the star and the magnetic fields and that that was part of why they tried to invade Earth.
I too got a 'know-it-all-' vibe in the while-ago chapter where we first met Arizhiel. I got a dodgy vibe from her back then. I wonder what she's hiding? Surely someone would have worried about those cameras if something fishy wasn't going on. Tyou always take such nice pictures of Sixam < 3 OHhhh dear, to have your memories altered sounds MUCH worse than it does on the surface. YES, I had a feeling that was the case, that they KNEW EXACTLY how to harvest those elements and hoard them all for themselves. Hopefully they have a safe way to stop them...The drama unfolds!

Sirio would have really needed a hug in this chapter, I didn't show it because the chapter was long enough already but surely Cassy and Toq didn't turn back. The bed monster scene instead, in game, was indeed the usual boring "child waking up imagining a monster below the bed", but then seeing that Sirio did actually manage to communicate a bit with it I though about that dialogue. I really need to find him some friends, isn't it?
As for the planet Sixam instead, the place is quite like an empty shell at this point, that's true. The inhabitants of New Sixam did their best to learn about the technology left in there, but they are not very fond of their "original sixamians ancestors who wanted to destroy the Earth", and ended to overlook their history and cultures.
The star's magnetic field instead was actually a quite lazy choice on my part, I wanted to throw in some "scientific-sounding name", but it's not very accurate and this bothers me quite a bit. Oh well, physics in that universe is all messed up anyway.
I can't say much about Arizhel instead, apart that a lot of surprises still have to come between now and the end of Gen 5...

I really like all the new developments! I wondered what Arizhel was up to when she tried to talk Toq into returning. Now we know. She seems pretty sneaky and underhanded. I think they're going to have to watch out for whatever she does next now that she knows that Cassy and Company are after the same resources.
Interesting that Toq was able to restore Cassy's memory. I didn't realize he could do that.
Personally, in a world that already has telepathy, rocketships you can launch from your yard, and a moon you can get to and from in just a few hours... I wouldn't worry too much about magnetic stars. I love the silliness of it. Let's go!
There is still so much to learn about Arizhel, actually some episodes even surprised me when I was playing this part.
I don't want to say much on the topic for not spoil any future event, but I just want to specify that Arizhel actually copied Steve, Cassy and Venus's idea about extracting elements from the star (as she was involved in the meeting at the space exploration centre with them), so it's more like she decided to put herself after the same resources the Millers had individuated than the opposite.
As for Toq's ability to restore memories instead, I wanted to give him and the other ancient sixamians some more telepathic powers than the regular sixamians have. Technically Cassy and the others could learn how to delete some memories if they learnt how to do, so that was the minimum level I had in mind. Then Toq is supposed to be quite of an expert on telepathy even among the ancient sixamians, so if there was someone able to do that, it was him.
As for the accuracy part instead, I indeed have to say that I had to give up on accuracy already in Gen 1 with Stuart, in many senses his invention made even less sense than this. Oh well, let's see where the magnetic star will bring them now...
Anyway, the magnetism of stars is actually very complex (I don't understand it well either), by pointing out in this way my perplexities about this over-simple explanation I also wanted to avoid spreading misunderstanding about the topic.

They all look great, now let's see how I decided to involve them in the ongoing plot...
Also, it's nice to see that Sophia stood out already. Don't worry, she's not disappearing anytime soon.
About her, as a random detail, I actually noticed that she is one of the grandchildren of Serena, Luke and Misty's friend from Gen 4. It always looks like there are a lot of sims in each save, but it's quite a small world instead, isn't it?

Hi, new reader here! After giving your generation 1 summary a peak, I knew that you had some crazy creative plot happening here (just my favorite kind of legacy to read!), and I had to go back and read from the beginning. I can't make spoilers yet, but I've read the first five chapters and am loving your founder and writing style -- I can't wait to get caught up! :D
I'm very happy you liked the summary and the first few chapters! Crazy plot is definitively a good description, and Stuart was for sure a funny founder to play with (but I'm not sure he would agree with my enthusiasm, considering all he had to pass through while I was having fun writing about him XD )

New chapter! Sorry I've been slow to your chapters things are a big rough RN.
I hope that Toq can help reconstruct Cassy's memory, a fragmented memory would send her mad. Ahh look at teenage Sirio! I like that Sirio is so creative given that Toq's ancient Sixamian culture was very closed-off to any kind of personal creative outlet or expression. I laughed at Halley mocking Sirio at the end XD
they/them or she/her - remember to only support ethical CC creators! -
Thanks @SnowBnuuy ! I'm being super- slowly at posting anything these days, I surely won't be the one blaming others for waiting before reading my updates XD
This time Toq actually seemed quite satisfied with how he managed to recover those memories, that's usually the sign of a negligible amount of missing fragments. Those are mostly explanations to keep in mind if, *accidentally*, someone's memories had to be erased again at some point in the next chapters...
Sirio actually took after Toq more than most people (including the rest of the Millers) realise, but they grew up in such a different environment to give completely different outcomes. Sirio's creativity is also quite in contrast the rest of the family, as Cassy, Venus and Steve are all for science-stuff and not much for arts. Even his grandpa Luke, albeit being a writer, was mostly busy with essays than with novels and other forms of creative writing. Following Sirio will definitively be quite a change, but it will take some time before reaching that...
Halley instead definitively knows how to have fun when her friends are around, but there is still a lot to see about what else I planned for her...

After a good bit of binge reading, I have made it to the end of generation 3!
I am seriously impressed by your creativity in turning mechanics of the game into such compelling storylines and mysteries (explaining why the aliens impregnate male sims at the beginning, why the abductions keep happening in spite of your original plot "solving" them, incorporating the Get to Work jobs into the overarching plot!) I really appreciated the emotional complexity in Luna's generation of choosing whether or not to use their disguises, considering the complications of letting her family be their authentic selves versus keeping them safe from discrimination, and then eventually having that decision taken away from them.
Claire's character as a disguised alien turned activist turned politician trying to get by in a corrupt system is also very compelling to me -- she's one of my favorites, and I can tell I'm going to miss her soon! I definitely need to give my eyes a rest, but I'm enjoying your story immensely and can't wait to read more!
@DeidreMahariel , that's some serious binge-reading, I'm impressed!
In Luna's generation I was very harsh with the poor Millers, they didn't get much luck in that generation. Frankly, generation 3 was quite on the same line as well. Up to this point Claire was one of my favourite characters as well, she worked hard and achieved really a lot.
The beginning of Gen 4 is quite a big turning point in the story instead, and I say no more...

New chapter! And the drama just gets better and better...
It's fun to finally hear Sirio's point of view. Seems like he likes his cousin but doesn't understand her too well.
Arizhel has a kid! Definitely did not see that one coming (and it sounds like you didn't either ). I am super curious about Florian and Edward now. I love the unique way that Florian's tendrils formed.
Well, that announcement by Arizhel is surely going to cause an uproar. Looking forward to the next chapter for sure.
@DeidreMahariel Ah, you're making me nostalgic! I adore this story. Definitely worth reading all the generations to catch up. Each generation's arc builds on the previous ones. It's a lot of fun.
The Millers usually are not the kind of people who look for gossip and rumours, but this was too much to be ignored XD With this new side of Arizhel and the introduction of Florian and Edward, there will be definitively a lot to talk about in the next chapters. Not to mention the last message Arizhel broadcasted on TV, that one will definitively have consequences...

I'm really enjoying the hybrid household that Venus and Cassie are sharing -- after watching them grow up together and hearing both of their perspectives equally (you did a fantastic job of concealing which was the heir), it feels right for them to stay together! This current cast of characters all have such distinctive personalities and family dynamics -- I absolutely adore Sirio! It's interesting to see how his lineage and being an empath affects him as he grows up (I'm also a massive Mass Effect fan, and even though Sirio is obviously not an Asari, I squealed a little bit when I saw the head tendril CC you chose for him. )
Toq's chapters and his struggle to understand emotions and family were very well put together. It can be difficult to muster sympathy for the willingly absent father, but as you captured quite well, it becomes much more complicated when you are attributing cultural values to someone completely foreign to that culture.
I'm curious to see how Arizhel's plans unfold (and was amused by her decision to run off and make a family behind your back. ) Given the rate at which the Miller family is typically forced to pack up their lives and move, could another planet be next??
wow @DeidreMahariel , that was some serious binge-reading again!
And thanks a lot for the comments, I'm very glad you're enjoying also gen 5! This is definitively a more complex generation regarding the internal dynamics, there are so many more sims to look after, and characters like Toq really shifted their equilibrium a lot...
And Sirio is just lovely, he's in my top 5 (if not 3) of my favourite characters in this legacy, no jokes!
And now new drama is just behind the corner, Arizhel is another very messy character (and she was already before deciding to start a family without notifying me XD )
Anyway, moving everyone to a new planet sounds like a cool plan, isn't it? Who knows if I managed to represent it somehow in game or not...

OH MY GOSH I love Florian's tendrils so much!!!!! OH gosh, poor guy is Arizhel's son... Of course she spent no time with him. Thing is Florian like Toq is now living amongst Sixamians where being there for your kids is completely normal. They must both be mourning what could have been a close-knit childhood. Ohh darn, Arizhel's speech...I'm not surprised no-one takes it seriously. Whenever you try to convince people of how truly dire things are they'd rather live in the world in their head where everything is fine and dandy 24/7 then cry no-one told them when it all hits.
Antaan's answers to Toq's questions did definitely come across as quite cryptic, but maybe he's trying to drive Toq and Cassy to come up with the answers for themselves. Or maybe it's just because he and Toq can read each other's emotions so don't really need to express them.

Well, my heart is filled with empathy for Sirio, not having friends outside of family, and trying to be friends with the monster under the bed.
It must be strange for Toq, returning to Sixam now when no people are living there any more. The kids sure seem excited though.
Interesting new information about Sixam and its star. I wonder what Steve is planning...

Even Cassy seems mad at someone this time, what could have happened? Whatever the answer is, this chapter was very funny to write. XD

I know we left the last chapter on a cliffhanger, but the kids were also asking very loudly for some attention, so...
Ahhh.
Sirio sure looks a lot like his dad. Nice to see that Sirio is still painting. Needs work on that violin though.
Halley's outfit at her birthday party after aging up looks great on her. Also I'm curious to see if we see more of her friend Sophia in the future.
