How to give an object to a sim in a different household?

Hello simmers!
I was wondering if anyone knew how to give objects back to another sim in a different household?
My sims currently have a bunch of military trophies from my military sim who now lives in another household. If I give him a gift of these military trophies, will he have them in his inventory?
Thanks for your help!

If you gift it to him, I think it might be lost. Maybe you could put them in an empty lot, sell it with furniture included, then get the other sim to buy the lot, take possession of the objects and then resell the lot.

What I do when I want to share items with another household, is that I create a room - as small as possible, depending on the items (in my case usually art) - and then save the room to my library. Then I just switch households, place the room on that lot, get the items and then demolish the room.
If I just posted an outfit you like, I have good news - there is more where that came from!

@Netzspannung's method is much simpler than mine (and I'll probably be using it from now on!).

Mine would be to temporarily add your military Sim to the household, let them pick up their stuff, and then move them back to their own house.

I had a sim gift a death flower to a ghost (they were in different households) so he could use it to make ambrosia, and it appeared in his inventory when I switched households just fine, so I assume the same would happen with the military stuff

My sims have had gift items in their inventory. But putting them in a room uploaded to the gallery for safety is a good idea.

Before you do do any of them, I would save the room of trophy’s to the library. Lots of good suggestions here,

Seems to work giving a gift. Just tested it in-game.

As others have said, even though there seem to be many different methods to try, definitely save the trophy room to the library first. I'd hate for you to lose them!

Let us know if you manage to get the trophies back to your Sim.

I'm pretty sure that a kid npc stole my toy cat. The last time I saw it, she was playing with it. I checked her inventory later but couldn't find anything.
Oh Sushi Cat, where could you be?

    Thanks for the help everyone!

I was able to move everything by saving a small room to my library with all the military trophies and a couple of photographs. I then went to the household and downloaded the room, and I put all the objects where I wanted them.
    So it worked! :)

….I still am a bit skeptical of gift giving, it doesn’t seem to be 100% reliable.

Glad you got it sorted @bixters! That's the method I would have chosen too.

Perhaps test the gifting option with an item you don't care about? I don't have Seasons but am considering it as my next pack, so I'd be interested to see how gifting works if you do happen to test it.
