Some Sims Won't Nap on Right Side of Their Bed??

Playing one of my households last night, a married Sim needed to have a nap so I clicked on the right side of her bed where she sleeps with her spouse and told her to have a nap and she did "Uh, I can't do that."
A teen Sim who needed a nap who also sleeps on the right side of her bed with her lover, I clicked on her side of the bed telling her to nap and once again "Uh, I can't do that."
But any other bed is fine. Anyone who sleeps on the left side is fine to nap. I'm starting to think this issue relates to what happened the other night when I was playing another household; a couple just made love and the person on the right side of the bed instantly sat up to eat a meal but the lump was still there as though she was still asleep.
These "hiccup" issues are doing my head in.
