UM... Does your nanny never leave?

I hired a nanny because between the two babies, one toddler and the farm there was no time for Danica to take care of her own needs (and baby the oversized watermelon). The nanny was an adult (I assume). Fast forward and the kids are now a child and 2 toddlers, the nanny is an elder and has not left yet. Not at all. I don't see her using the facilities or eating and she doesn't look after the kids anymore, but she still has the title of nanny. Aside from obliterating her out of existence (deleting her) any ideas how I can get her to leave? I've tried dismissing her and firing her, but nothing so far. Her name is Arthav Mahajan.

Just a couple of suggestions that probably won't work:
- Going to a venue for a couple of hours
- Playing a different household for a couple of hours
- Reset the nanny (testingcheats true, then shift click on the nanny, choose reset object)
- One of my mods comes with a "Just go away" option (I think it is MCCC)
- Move the nanny into a house and play her just long enough to give her a job

The nanny sadly died, on my lot, before I could do any of these, and although I swear she was a she, the ghost of the same name that keeps calling, is a dude. Different hair and a goatee... Hopefully it was just a mod having a funny five minutes and it won't happen again. Pretty awful job though. You come to nanny a couple of babies when you're an adult, live in the house until you're an elder, and they're children (they just aged up) and then die without getting paid...

Sorry that happened to you. Is it possible the door was locked?

"Dismiss" is supposed to cause them to get paid and leave, but sometimes if they're in the middle of something (including a conversation with you) they might carry on with what they're in the middle of instead of leaving. If that happens, and "Send Home" doesn't work, try just traveling to another lot and back, or any of @EnkiSchmidt 's suggestions.

Pffft, I should probably feel bad for laughing at this. I mean, yeah, the worst job ever.

My nannies always stayed longer than expected, the Sim almost live in my house too. But I'm not mad about it, because it cost me nothing. She is free to go anytime. They do even come back when I've played a different family for a while. They get the finest food, can use everything, they could also sleep in a well decorated guestroom. They got gifts on winterfest and a nice financial bonus. The first nanny in my game was married to Brittany Cho thanks to mccc. It could have been worst for him. To be frankly, I find it very convenient.

I had a household where the toddler started talking to an invisible sim. I couldn't figure it out until I looked at her relationship panel and figured out it was the nanny who never left. This nanny didn't seem to take care of their own needs either. At least the toddler always had someone to talk to.

You have to dismiss the Nanny, then you get the fee for the work done, and then the Nanny leaves. What's really creepy is when the Nanny starts calling the Child Sims, asking them to come over to the Nanny's house. I never let them do that. What parent would?
