My sim was the first to arrive at the village fair. She submitted her giant aubergine and immediately returned home to bake a pie to submit.
She got hungry while baking the pie and I knew she was going to try to eat it. Judging by the expression on her face, she knew I was going to stop her from eating it!
The aubergine won second place, and the pie only got a participation ribbon.
This was the first time a llama resisted getting sheared. He knocked the shears into the air and then tossed them away. Nora managed to calm him down with some focused attention.
After the fire the day before, Matt took time to fireguard the fireplace.
The Gnome's Arms is pretty much the only gathering place in Finchwick. The family goes there several times a week.
I spent some time renovating the pub. Just a spot of redecorating, but mostly I wanted to add a few more activities.

Great idea about adding more activities to the bar.
@lanlyn After seeing all the activities for Sims you added to the pub, I went back and added those same ones to my pub.
I placed another household. This is their dog, Abi, and one of her traits is aggressive. Abi is so funny because she's guarding inside as well as outside of the property lines. She knows these two don't belong.

@Hearts4u I just added a couple of more things for kids to do too. Maybe I'm overdoing it, but I can't picture folks from Henford-on-Bagley hopping on planes and flying to other cities for fun and games!
I also exchanged locations for the dartboard and couches so people could sit closer to the fireplace. There's more room for playing darts this way too. I'll have to see how routing works though. Not sure which arrangement is best.
I am quite disappointed that you can't have picnics on the ground, but with the mod Kneel everywhere I was at least able to kinda simulate that. I forgot to add rug for even more immersion, but I think this is what I will do from now on, so the picnic felt a bit more cozy.
Farm is coming along. Maxis did a good job with the animals, I feel that the chickens are a bit needy (I might have bought too many) but I like the lama and the cow.
I also like that Maxis placed townies that use the new Cross-Stitching skill. It adds more life to the town. (Even better if you replace those townies with sims from the gallery).
@lanlyn I love what you're doing to the pub. Don't some pubs have a bedroom upstairs that they rent out? That might be nice to add. Once, my sim was an hour late selling his goods to the store. But if he had a place to stay he could sell his stuff first thing in the morning. I guess he could bring a tent and place it by the river.....

@lanlyn I think this is great. This is a small town so I think the pub needs these items because it feels more family friendly to me. I've added a lot of kids so this is great to have.

Over the hills and far away, Simletubbies come to play.
Wow, this is so well made!! I love the toddler sun lol
Well thanks! That's actually a sun baby, and if we're getting improved babies in The Sims 4, I'll replace the female toddler face with a female baby face
Ohw, well I did know that it's a baby in the show, but I could tell you used a toddler.
Hey, I'm Milo (he/him)! I love The Sims 4, and I've been playing it since December of 2020. My Sims bestie and forums bestie is Gonnawin1111, aka V.
Been playing a lot with the Watsons, didn't realize I would love them so much.
Redid the entire house, and made some changes to the rest, but I love the existing landscaping.
Rahmi is living her best farmer influencer life. Ignore the fact that the spinklers broke the livestreaming drone, occupational hazard.
They're lettuce suppliers, and make artisanal fizzy drinks on the side for fun.
The third child has been made a toddler. The boy was the toddler in the trailer but Maira was the youngest in the game. Don't really get why EAxis retconned the family having a toddler, we never get toddler premades and it's starting to get weird.
(Yes I removed the monkey bars to make an agility course for the dog, no I will not explain myself.)

@BlkBarbiegal I liked your idea, so I decided to add an extra room upstairs--which meant I had to redo the roof, chimney, and walls. But I came up with a simple arrangement for a dorm-style bunk room.
The extra 2nd floor room is on the right.
I moved the upstairs fireplace and furniture to the new room. It made more sense to have the 2nd floor fireplace near the chimney.
The original area became a small TV room and new bunk room.
Since I now had two sitting areas upstairs, I replaced the 1st floor sofas with a game table and 2 dining tables. Plenty of space left for darts.
Testing the game table (sabacc in this pic).
The pub was sponsoring "guys night."
These ladies were discussing their personal opinions of the new beds.
A friendly game of juice pong.

Something extra. I realized the rabbit home had an available slot when Nora put a glass down on top of it.
Love the chicken fence @happyopi I normally like to see my chickens roam freely, but could still do that by unlocking their gate during daylight. Also like the rest you did with the Watson home. I moved them out because I needed their lot for a palace, but they run a chicken farm at 3 Olde Mill Lane - such a cute family
Finished the kitchen today! Some of the shelves are still bare because I want to fill it out with crystals/potions/pictures etc during gameplay. It will look a lot fuller in the end. Did some testing of a the main objects and all seem to work so that's great news!
[Filling the pet bowl:
Using the cauldron:
Using the fire place:
Using the tea maker (we are in Henford, after all!):
Fireside tea time (I seriously can't wait to play this lot in winter):
Making sugar cookies:
All finished without a single hiccup!
Now to finish the lounge (and the upstairs)... sorry Varian, you can't move in just yet!
One thing I love to do, is have my sim Emeline bake some food and sell it at HoB's marketplace.
Finn has a some money now that the farm is successful, but he's going to keep haggling, no matter how much it annoys Mrs. Crumplebottom.
Raising five kids is heck. I don't know how my parents did it. Clockwise from the boy: Cliff, Morgan (oldest), and triplets Lucy, Laurel, and Lila. All the kids ended up being spellcasters, but I sent the triplets away to a magic school once they became teens, because the house was already laggy and chaotic with 7 sims, crops and animals. The older siblings stayed because they wanted to help their parents with the farm, while the triplets wanted some breathing room and travel opportunities.
Simple Living is great, but I couldn't have managed without Morgan's help. While her dad and brother worked on the crops, and her mother took care of the kids and baked, Morgan took care of family meals and raising the animals.
Once the triplets moved out, Emeline got into knitting. With winter on the way, Gertrude appreciates the clothing.
Flossy is less appreciative. Also, I held off on getting a llama because I didn't think they'd be worth it. But it turns out their wool sells for a crazy amount, they give a lot of wool and constantly need shearing.
Cricket the Rooster kept giving me notifications that he would soon die of old age. So the family (especially Finn) showered him with extra love when they could. He and Henrietta were the first animals they ever bought, and had been part of the family since before the kids were born.
(Also, I got a golden chicken and rooster. Mrs. Crumplebottom was selling a gold treat the first time the family visited the marketplace.)
Sadly, death came all too soon. I tried to rush Finn out of bed to catch Cricket one last time, but by the time he got outside, he was gone.
Eu te amo, Cricket. I love you.
The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017
Fauna's original rooster was reaching the end of his life, so she ruthlessly traded him away for meat. But the same day, her rooster chick, Beau Peep, aged up and so the coop maintains the one rooster it needs. Here's Beau emerging onto the roost for the first time. What a fine fellow.
Comments
The first thing Patchy...er Pat did when he was human was go play in the pond.
Though he was pretty eager to get back to work.
He remembered Ericka doing this with a less successful oversized crop she had changed a lot on the farm he was so proud of her.
Making sure to say goodbye to his tree though he can't imagine it not being there.
All the sims err'day

A bit of joyful singing:
A bit of cuteness:
Bunny love:
Braving the Crumplebottom and not being put off by her stern look:
