Romance/Woohoo Club Problems

«1
I've tried making Romance clubs, where sims will romance other sims at a bar or nightclub.
However, they never interact with other sims. They dance or just sit at the bar the whole time and don't interact with other sims. When I forbid these other activities in the Club menu, the sims will just stand there idly and do nothing.

Anyone have any luck making Romance/ Woohoo Clubs?

For woohoo clubs you have to have plenty of woohoo spots available. Like:
    • Closets from Get Together
    • “PooHoo” bushes from either Get Together or Jungle Adventures
    • Double Beds
    • Showers
    • Rocket ships
    • Telescopes
And so on, are you providing enough of these?

I once made a romance club (I've since disbanded it) and found that club members would not flirt until they had built up friendship first.

So start it as a friendly club first then slowly move it into a romance club.

I do. I have MC Command Center, Wonderful Whims, 1 by Basemental and another by Sacrificial.

I removed my mods. Here are the results:

My Woohoo/ Romance Club went to the Nightclub they usually went to. All they did was watch the DJ and do a little flirting. Mostly, they just chatted amongst themselves.

Here they are just standing around doing NOTHING:

As you can see, they're mostly just standing around. There are plenty of beds at the night club, but they're just sleeping in them. No woohoo in sight.

Here they are sleeping in the beds:

For the rules of the Club, I have them be Romantic with Young Adults and Adults and Woohoo Everyone. They are not allowed to drink at the bar, dance, watch live performances or be Romantic/ Woohoo with Club members.

Don't set your heart on your club members avoiding banned activities.

My Public Enemies club have "be mean to Public Enemies" as a banned activity but they still do it. However this may be because "be mean to everyone" is allowed and an angry vibe is set. I get the impression that the vibe overrides things.

I notice a distinct gender imbalance in that club.

Without mods, that likely means they're all standing around looking for a man. I don't know if you can 'make a pack of lesbians' without using something like Wonderful Whims. I know there is a chance for sexuality to be this or that - but without a Mod can it be manually set or even discovered?

Also without mods, you need to make sure none of them are in romances already. I believe 'polyamorous' is a mod-only ability.

I'd think you'd want to also give them interactions to be friendly to people, and then buy the club perk that makes members flirty.

You may also wish to give the club a trait requirement and use whatever 'flirty traits' exist in the base game (not sure, I have the above mod so I just picked some traits for a club I have that is similar to this).

If the lot traits for 'romantic' and 'party place' were not from Mods, then put those on the club venue as well.

In my case my club members went out there chasing down dates with gusto - but I had their CAS traits, club traits, and venue lot traits all set up to encourage things.

That said I only used them once as a test. But now that it works I'm planning on building multiple clubs, some mens groups, some mixed groups, and so on. But I'm more looking to use them to encourage other activity - though I plan at least 4 'date clubs' total.

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve, but if the objective is for the girls to romance the guys in the bar, then two clubs may be the way to go and set friendly and romantic interaction toward the respective clubs.

If the objective is to keep romance within a same club, then you will need to make sure the gender preference of each sim is set to the preferred gender.

By default sims seem to only romance the opposite gender autonomously (at least that is all I have seen)

You can set preferences manually doing friendly and romantic interactions towards the members of the club - to get them going, so to speak.

An alternative is to set gender preference using MCCC.

You can prevent this sort of thing happening by making sure sims are in the right mood for the interactions that you want the sims to engage in. Club rules can be overcome if a sims mood is not aligned - a focused sim will seek out chess boards etc.

If the club is new and you haven't yet unlocked the club vibe perk, then use environment tools and edibles such as objects with emotional auras like paintings, etc, Personally I like the incense from the spa day pack for this.

Some food can work as well. Take along some flirty heart cookies and plop a couple of plates of em down on a surface somewhere if you want your sims flirty - you can cook these by getting a flirty sim to make them by clicking an oven when flirty.

It'll take a while, but use your club points towards the romance perks. Then you can make everyone flirty, and the romance perk makes flirting more likely to succeed. Also add the romantic aura trait to the lot. As the relationships build, they'll start doing things on their own.

At least, this is how it worked last time I played my woohoo club. Hopefully, they didn't break the clubs too.

I do. I have MC Command Center, Wonderful Whims, 1 by Basemental and another by Sacrificial.

    I missed seeing this earlier.

Go through the new traits Wonderful Whims added and make sure each club member has at least one of the traits that makes someone do more romantic interactions. If you can set having one of these traits as a membership requirement for the club, also do that.

In CAS, under the new likes/dislikes system make sure all club members have one or both genders set as what they're attracted to - depending on your goals with this club.

Make sure they have more than just 'romance and whoohoo' set as choices for activities in the club. They should also have some socials for being friendly / nice / social to everyone or each other depending on club focus.

Use romantic and party place lot traits.

Use the 'more visitors' lot trait from littlemssims on the 'main venue' you expect the club to go to early on. You could even just add this one temporarily and then remove it once you have 'kicked off the spark' for the club and earned enough club points to buy the flirty club perk up to max (I was able to do that in the first meeting of my romance club).

Make sure you've got enough sims around that your clubbers would actually find attractive... There should be a whole system in there for setting what each sim find attractive, and you can use it to instantly spike people into giving each other the look.

Make sure all of your clubbers have polyamorous chosen. I believe this can be found by clicking on of them and it there's a wonderful whims menu, using it and selecting preferences. I think it's in MCCC to turn off jealousy. Make sure to do that or the whole thing will end in a lot of very bad vibes going around. Alternatively, look for options in Wonderful Whims to turn it off on a sim by sim basis.

Lastly, the idea of making a counter point male club and a mixed gender club - these are the paths I'm going to be taking.

I'm also thinking of making some of these clubs for 'unmarried sims' only and then making the entry requirement very easy (some super common skill or trait) - so that it becomes a 'matchmaker' club - where I expect the ranks to get emptied out a lot. But that's a club I will likely have hangout in cafes or lounges instead of clubs and bars.

I've had the most difficulty with my two pet owners clubs: Claws Before Paws and Paws Before Claws. Because despite having them hangout in venues with a lot of stray pets and locking membership to only sims with both a 'loves animals' and 'loves cats' or 'loves dogs' trait, they didn't do the play with animals actions... So I'm still looking at ways to trick them into actually doing the stuff.

But the secret does seem to be making sure the venue itself has the right other things present (next time I send the pet clubs to venues that pet owners like to hang out at, and add a 'be social with other club members' action. In my game stray pets are very hard to approach - like real life feral animals).

Also experimenting with a 'Single Aliens' club that has as it's socials singing, coffee, and going to geek events... If you got a mod like Wonderful Whims going, I find just having any 2 sims talk to each other all gets everyone flirty in moments. I'm often having to dial things back...

I don't use Discord because it doesn't support multiple accounts and I don't need folks at work wondering what I'm doing even on my own time. Until Discord catches up with every single other voice / video conferencing system, I limit where I use it:

@ModerateOsprey My goal with the club is to have the women romance other sims, not to members of the Club. Having two clubs is an interesting idea. Do you mean one club that makes the advances and another that reciprocates?
The nightclub they visit already has a lot of romantic decor, and the auras are on. I've also almost maxed the Romance emotional boost to the Club itself. I may have to try the incense though.

@IceyJ I'll have to add the Romantic lot trait to the nightclub, I forgot about that one!

@Jyotai It is rather unbalanced lol. I may make an male or alien romance/ woohoo club in the future, like you suggested. Woohoo for everyone :D For this club I just want them to romance other sims, not club members.

I forgot about Romantic and Party Place Lot Traits, I'll definitely have to add those!
I will have to add trait requirements to the Club members, definitely Romantic, and I think it's the Pleasure Seeking trait with Wonderful Whims?
I also didn't realize that Wonderful Whims had gender preferences as Likes/ Dislikes? I'll have to check that out. And I didn't realize there was a Polyamorous feature in Wonderful Whims, that's great to know.

I'd like to have a lot more Clubs in the game in the future, for singles looking to date, married couples, men, aliens. It definitely adds more interesting things happening in the world!

Thanks for all your advice! I'll experiment and share my results :)

I use the same mods you mention, and I have a club called Sx Club where all my noncommittal Sims of both genders are in the club. They go crazy all over each other the whole freaking time. I really have to reign it in. I think others are pointing to your issue which is that all the Sims in your club are the same gender. You could put Sims of both genders in the club and tell them to do these behaviors with each other, or you could make another club of the opposite gender and set the clubs to interact with each other.

I have seen a few instances of same-sex Sims hook up in my club when their preferences align, but mostly they go for the opposite sex by default.

That's interesting. I remember making a “Single ladies” club in a hope they'll look for love in bars and clubs, but they ended up flirting with each other... which is not bad I guess, why hitting on strangers when you have friends who are equally interested? Lol.

That's just not my experience though.

My experience is my clubs are doing exactly what I tell them to, when I properly tell them to do it.

If I don't set things up right, they don't do much. If I do set things up, they do.

My Public Enemies club have "be mean to Public Enemies" as a banned activity but they still do it. However this may be because "be mean to everyone" is allowed and an angry vibe is set. I get the impression that the vibe overrides things.

It's very annoying. The sims in this game seem to get distracted by everything, making a lot of fun Club activities useless. They never do anything the Club rules tell them to. The game's autonomy is really garbage.
This is my exact experience with the club system as well. most activities did not work at all, but i managed to make this movie geeks club work, no such luck with my other clubs so far though.

My movie club also works well! I have a movie theater venue and they all sit and watch movies playing.
Some of my other clubs are hit or miss. I had a Mean Club where they were supposed to be mean to everyone EXCEPT members of the club. Most of the time they just stood around and did nothing :/
There are also some objects they refuse to use. I have a club who are supposed to play cards, but they refuse to use the card table for some reason.

Clubs are a cool feature, but they seem very finicky.
