I guess three more years.. that'll make it a decade of Sims 4. Oh well. I'll keep playing Sims 3.

Now we talk about them lasting ten years, 15 years, or more.

Maybe it will be announced like Dragon Age 4 and Mass Effect 4. Here's some short trailer and concept art, coming for few years. :D:smiley::D

Dragon Age 4 and Mass Effect 5 are dead, Casey Hudson left EA when he saw the disaster.

BioWare is slowly burying these IP.

    Lame and disappointing

EA is staying consistent, at least.

If they (EA) have stated that they have plans to release more content for Sims 4, then announcing Sims 5 would be one sure way to get people to slam their wallets shut. Why would you pay for something that's going to be superceded in XX months?

Well dang, if they would last that long (of course EA will milk every ounce of Sims 4) then I will keep playing Sims 3 and Paralives until TS5 come out. I stopped getting packs for Sims 4 in 2019 and haven't touched the game since then... the only way I can consider is if they introduce the open world back to the game but their engine can't handle it so.

I was blown away that they're remaking Dead Space. So good game (I liked even 3rd).

Nope. I don't think there's going to be a Sims 5 for a while, they've pretty much said that there's a lot more to come on Sims 4. I think the year of COVID set everything back too so push the possibility out a little farther as well.

I want real babies in the sims 4, romance/wedding stuff, a new wedding outfit category, hotels, casino stuff, schools, a new costume category, cars, more active jobs like get to work’s, theme parks, bands, medieval stuff, more challenges, like one for clothing like they have for food. I’d like them to bring out a variety of eye lashes, nail paint, more eye colors, in fact give me a color wheel for eyes, hair, clothes, and build items, some interesting careers with nice career rewards I also want them to fix game breaking bugs like plants reverting to dirt.

It's disappointing that there wasn't something exciting announced - even something to do with TS4!

I don't think this is true. TS4 has a devoted fanbase who buy everything even if they don't want the main features. I doubt TS4 would suffer very much even if EA ran TS5 along side TS4. Think about it.

I honestly believe there will still be a fandom for TS4 sitting here waiting on horses, cars, farm life, other worlds, representation for this or that, werewolves, fairies, and everything else left on a bucket list after seven years. They will still be here waiting on the Great Pumpkin to appear.

Especially if there is still a devoted fanbase of TS3 and TS2, then TS4 will still be here with their devoted fanbase. I am ready for TS5 or any good sims competition at this point.

I don't care about the game anymore. I'm posting here though because what I'd like to know is why does anyone still cares if TS5 comes if it's going to be online multiplayer with competition and microtransactions galore? Why care about it if it's going to be lazy and a lot of cut corners? I really don't have a lot of faith that it will be any good anymore.

We won't know if Sims 5 will be online multiplayer or have microtransactions galore. We won't find out anything until Sims 5 comes out.

We also have to let go of Sims 4 sooner or later, and embrace the future...we can't keep clinging on to Sims 4 forever and ever. Just imagine what would of happened if Sims 1 kept going on forever-we would of never had toddlers or aging or Universities. We would of never gotten Create-a-world or Bluewater Village or Nervous Subject.

And what if Sims 2 kept going on forever? There would of been no open world and no Create-a-Style and no Color Wheel. We would not of gotten Monte Vista, and we would of never been able to have horses at pets.

Will Sims 5 bring back Create-a-World or have supernatural/mythical beings such as centaurs? What if Sims 5 allowed us to build houses on other planets? What if we could own pets like chinchillas or monkeys in Sims 5(as well as cats and dogs)?

Let's start thinking POSITIVE thoughts about Sims 5 for a change.

Why do you hide inside these walls?

I agree so much with you. I want TS5 but not because I hate TS4. I enjoy playing all four games because each game has its own (and different) pros and cons. I just want something fresh and new.

For example, back when TS4 rumors rose up, I was playing TS3 so much at the time but I never said something like 'oh they should keep Sims 3 for at least 20 years then I'll be ready for 4' or 'no it's too early for 4, 3 needs more stuff'. In fact I was extremely excited because it was something fresh and new and I'm sure it's going to be the exact same reaction about TS5. Although I enjoy playing TS3 a bit more than the others I'd never see myself play TS3 for so long if TS4 wasn't out. I'd probably have left the community and the franchise in 2015 the latest.

And what if TS5 does not satisfy me? I'll just go to the previous games and maybe go back to 5 after some time like I do now with TS4. People act like TS4 is gonna shutdown after TS5's release, and I'm mentioning only TS4 because I haven't seen people from TS1, TS2 or TS3 forums write something like this. TS4 will still get updates and fixes or even more content after TS5's release like TS3 had when TS4 released. The game's team is huge now so there may be multiple projects worked at the same time.

That's why I'm positive about TS5. Because each game gives completely new features and I'm all for it. And like you said..

We won't know if Sims 5 will be online multiplayer or have microtransactions galore. We won't find out anything until Sims 5 comes out.

Yes me too I like playing sims 4 but I want sims 5 because it could have a lot more possibilities with a whole new engine and we could have a lot of stuff that aren't possible in sims 4. That's why I don't get why people want them to just keep adding stuff to sims 4 and never work on a new game. There would be so many new possibilities if they work with a newer engine with sims 5 and I want that.

I'm hoping sims 4 gets a space station or habitable ship style neighborhood, maybe houseboats, before sims 5

Meh. How many times have they lied to us to make a pack sound good only to be sorely disappointed? Until they actually say that TS5 WON'T have multiplayer online with competition and microtransactions galore (including them profitting off the modding and CC communities' work) and that TS5 indeed doesn't have those things when it actually releases and no cut corners, I still won't care. There are too many games out there now that have better quality and gameplay than what EA has been dishing lately.

Yeah, we kind of can guess they will build TS5 with competitions between players for whatever, and we can probably guess by their own interviews, they will probably have some sort of multi play, and they are all excited about a marketplace where they get some profit from player created content sold to the public as a way to monetize custom content. And just like they promote gamechangers and TSR (an actual paysite for goodness sake) they will promote individuals so they can monetize their creations to download within the game. It's not hard to figure out what EA/Maxis is thinking about to do next. And Windows 11 will soon be out with more features for the Android Phone instead of an OS for PC in it, so I'm sure EA/Maxis is going to have to think of how to take advantage of those features for Android Phones somehow and get something out of those features as well. It's like MS and EA keep moving people to use phones and just stream and monetize everything rather than build an OS and or a game for PC.

And MS has plans to buy Tiktok, or already did, and have plans to connect that to Windows 11 (and the Android features in Windows 11) so EA will have to think about how they can get some data mining and money for those features so don't be surprised if somehow TS5 has some tiktok features and features for the android phone and the pc in it, too.

Well at least EA making single player games like Dead Space again gives me a small hope that the sims5 might not be a multiplayer game.
